Castle Cottage Inn is a small but immaculately presented hotel, spottlessly clean and with a real attention to the small details that makes it stand out; from the skillfully balanced fragrances from diffusers around the room to the way the breakfast table was artistically laid out. And as for the food? Well, I have rarely tasted such delicious and well balanced meals with a choice of scrummy Thai dishes alongside beautiful English menu choices. All the sweets are to die for! Pattra and her team deliver a truly outstanding level of service that I've rarely seen bettered anywhere else. If in the future we return to North Wales then there is no question as to where we would stay.
The genuinly was nothing to fault.

Fabulous service from the lovely hosts and the young staff, warm, welcomimg and attentive. Food was all excellent and lots of it! Nice wine list plus bonus little bar in house called the Aviation bar, very snug Very good location by the castle, with fab views Spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated and equipped
Parking only 3 spaces for 7 rooms so cant be guaranteed. No long term parking nearby that we could find ,but some limited on street parking-warning-most streets steep and narrow due to the location ! Also as the hotel is an old building, the staircase up to some rooms is narrow and twisted so not suitable for people with mobility issues. However, there is a lovely ground floor bedroom that would be ideal and which we would book next time

Castle Cottage Inn is first class. It’s quaint & small but packs a punch as we couldn’t fault anything. The bedrooms are spotless ( as is the rest of the property ), comfortable super king beds with TV including Netflix if you have an account, chargeable if not. Your room is well stocked with teas, coffee, Welsh cakes and bara brith which was so welcome after a long drive from S Wales. Bathroom is also Welsh stocked with toiletries with nice touches ! Onto the food - OMG ! The food here is stunning. We had the weekend menu which is different to the Thai food available mid week. The Welsh lamb was out of this world! Breakfast had cereal, fruit yogurt plus full Welsh breakfast available. I must add though, the icing on the cake here are the hosts. Pattra is so lovely , nothing is too much trouble
Parking may be a little tricky with only three spaces available. But there is a car park at Harlech Castle for a small fee and free between 6pm - 10am.

We recently stayed at this lovely little hotel for our planned trek up Snowdon, and it was a wonderful experience. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite, as some of the other rooms were being painted. The suite was amazing—spacious, comfortable, well-appointed with a lovely big bath. The host was incredibly welcoming, even offering us food when we arrived late. We set off early the next morning for our walk (snowdon paths are around 45 mins to an hour drive away) so we missed breakfast that day. The breakfast the next morning was impressive, with a great variety of options to start the day. Harlech Castle is just around the corner, which made for a nice visit during our stay. While there are only a few parking spaces outside the hotel, we didn’t have any issues parking on the main street one evening, as it’s close by. The building and surrounding area are full of history and its the sort of peaceful quiet you just don’t find in most touristy spots. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel for its charm, hospitality, and excellent accommodation.
loved everything

Perfect breakfast. Great selection. I had fresh fruit and yogurt followed by smoked salmon and scrambled egg. My husband and son had fruit juice and full breakfasts (bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, mushroom, tomatoes and beans if wanted). We also had toast and tea/coffee. Excellent location just around the corner from the castle. Pattra was the best - top notch hospitality. We ate in the Aviation Bar - I had Massaman curry, husband had steak and ale pie, son had Pad Thai with chicken - all delicious. We shared a cheese board and complimentary candies (chocolates and mints). Rooms were fantastic - enormous superking beds. Lovely toiletries in the en suites.
We liked everything. Could not fault anything.

The property is beautiful. So warm, welcoming and in an excellent location. We chose to book room 6 (Dolwyddelan) because we loved the look of the old beams and the cosy set up and we were not disappointed. It was beautiful! The room even featured a smart LG TV with all the streaming apps you could want (Netflix, Amazon, IPlayer etc), so perfect if you just want to stay in and enjoy your room. The bathroom facilities were equally brilliant, with a fab shower and lovely complimentary toiletries provided. Special mention to the scented diffusers, I’ve bought the same ones for my home now because they were incredible! We had breakfast both mornings in the main building and Pattra was just the most genuinely lovely host, nothing was too much trouble. She was happy to have a chat if you were feeling talkative or leave you to enjoy your breakfast in peace and enjoy the atmosphere. The food was beautiful with both a full cooked breakfast and a wide selection of pastries, yoghurts, cereal and juices, nothing was missing. If we are ever in the area again we will absolutely return to Castle cottage inn and have recommended it it all our friends and family.
Parking is limited but that is the nature of the location, being centrally located in such a small, beautiful old town. We were lucky that only the 3 of 7 rooms were booked during our 2 night stay so we always managed to get 1 of the 3 parking spaces, but I can imagine this being difficult when the place is fully booked.

Staff were so welcoming and attentive. The room was well equipped with anything we may have needed and very clean and decorated nicely. The bed was comfortable and a great size and the T.V gave options to log into other streaming. Breakfast was made fresh and was very tasty. 1 minute walk to the castle and brilliant view from castle.
Pillows were a bit lumpy, and ceilings were low (6ft) due to the age of the property. There was an incredibly steep hill to climb, which was a surprise and tricky with other traffic that we weren't expecting. A bit of fun but be aware if you have a large and heavy vehicle. Walls were a bit thin and we could hear other guests' TV late at night.

The room was large with a big comfortable bed and the powerful walk-in shower was just what we needed after a long day of walking. Pattra, our host, was extrememely friendly and accommodating, she made us feel very welcome. There was a choice of cereals, fresh fruit and toast available for breakfast, plus freshly cooked hot food to order. I chose the vegetarian option and the eggs, which were sourced locally, were particularly good. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and again, the food and service were great. Would recommend booking an upstairs room as it is a very old building and can hear footsteps from the room above.

The property requests you to book food prior to your stay, which seemed strange. The 'hotel' appears to be run between two members of staff. One of whom also operates the restaurant, which is only open two days a week, the other deals with the morning breakfasts. Both of these people were lovely, chatty and welcoming. The bar facility, which also houses a eating area for residents appears to only really open if you pre-book. Once again the staff we met were really nice, especially Sarah. So, if you don't eat here, you cant eat anywhere.
The stay here was designed to be a base in order to visit other areas. Firstly, the accommodation is on the 'steepest street in the world'. There are three parking spaces available, but if you have a very large vehicle, like us, you will soon realise that parking here is not a good move. You will need to park in the Castle car park, 200mtrs away. Not good when its raining hard. If you are thinking of going to Harlech beware: during the week there are NO restaurants open and the only pub opens at 6pm, but, does not serve food.

We were greeted on arrival by Pattra who came out to our car to welcome us and show us to our room. Our room was excellent in all ways. The next morning at breakfast, which again was excellent, my wife’s birthday was acknowledged with a ‘Happy Birthday ‘ banner on the window, next to where we were seated. In addition to this we had two small bottles of Prosecco with two champagne flutes on our table. This was a lovely touch. Our waitress, Sarah, was very friendly and efficient. If we visit Harlech again in the future then we will definitely book to stay at Castle Cottage Inn.
Car parking is limited outside the hotel. However it is possible to park for free on the main road from 6pm - 10am, a short distance from the hotel. This was explained to us on booking and was not a problem.
