On the warmest weekend of the year. Traffic was exceptional travelling through south Wales, mobile signal was intermittent to not existent, yet on a 3hr later than expected check in the property couldn’t have been more helpful. Windows opened in our room, fan provided and extra water on arrival. It was also the quietest room on the quietist road we’ve ever had the pleasure of despite being fully booked and we couldn’t fault the breakfast in the morning, it was just perfect as well as being beautifully presented. Then to top it all off we were introduced to Kai and Storm, the most placid and friendliest huskies we have known. Thank-you, we hope to be back.

We couldn’t find fault.

The room was comfortable and clean, a large comfortable bed and good facilities. The restaurant food was excellent, not cheap but worth the money. The breakfast was exceptional, the quality was obvious. We had our dog, Lola, with us and she was made very welcome by everyone. The host dogs were very well behaved. There was a lovely walk from the hotel to the beach and the beach was excellent for Lola.

There was some road noise and occasional trains, it didn’t disturb us but it was there.

Great location and parking facilities. lovely welcolm from Staff and Kai and Storm, our doggy hosts. Room was pleasant with large comfy bed and great view from room is Harlech Castle turrets. Evening meal which we booked in advance was excellent, and breakfast piping hot. Dog's are spoilt here with treats on tap and lots of attention.

Be aware. on arrival we were asked to pay for dog separately. £14.00 per night per dog. This was not on any booking.com details 😕 Ideal for smaller dogs as rooms didn't have much space for dog beds, bowls etc Evening meal was lovely freshly prepared but overpriced at £39 for Steak and chips..

Staff was very good & very helpful, Chef was brilliant amazing breakfast,bed was very big & comfortable, location was perfect.

The room was spacious, clean and the bed was huge and comfy. Perfect to relax in after a long drive and a walk to and from the beach. The location of Y Branwen is perfect to get to Harlech beach and walk through the dunes.

Only downside was that even though I think there was a brief mention that additional charges would be applicable for pets, we didn't realise it would be so much. Just a little shocked at the price for a pet stay for one night.

Convenient for Harlech Castle and Royal St David’s Golf Club. We had a quiet room at the rear if the property. Newly updated shower room. Tea and coffee in the room. Very nice breakfast with good quality ingredients.

There was only one sitting available in the restaurant at around 18:30. We were playing golf and couldn’t arrive at the hotel before that time so we had to find a restaurant in Portmadog, which was 17 minutes away by car. A little more flexibility on meal timing or some later availability of snacks would be very helpful.

From the outset, as soon as we met the couple that run Y Branwen they were very friendly and could'nt do enough for us and the room was lovely with a tv with good reception and a decent shower, the bed was also very comfortable. The food was superb with regards to the evening meal and breakfast and if your staying for more than one night you can easily walk up to Harlech Castle and onto the sand dunes. The huskies were also very friendly and did'nt appear to be bothered about other dogs.

We did'nt mind but I think it's only fair to mention that although the food was superb, both me and my wife only had two courses each for the evening meal and it came to £94 and granted we had a couple of drinks each as well but they were not cocktails or anything like that.

Stayed for 1 night over the bank holiday weekend. Lovely friendly hotel. Room was excellent with really comfy kingsize bed. Plenty of room for my 2 furbabies!! Great little village with some spectacular views. Parking available. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Shirley was lovely being Jack of all trades. Franco cooked excellent meals, our breakfast was so tasty! The vine tomatoes were so sweet! Best iv ever tasted. David was front of house. Great little team!

There was nothing we didn't like but if I had to pick one thing it would be that the hotel doesn't opened until 5pm. However we were fortunate that we were able to check in early as room was ready.

What a gem, warm welcome on arrival. The room was really lovely, nice crisp bedding and decor, There was a coffee machine and plenty of tea, especially herbal and bottled water. Even a little gift bag of treats for our dog Toiletries were lush. We only use Moulton Brown, and these were as good. So good, I've purchased some We had a full breakfast quality of produce, which was excellent Highly recommended and will visit again

The owner was good company, friendly, interesting to talk to and had a great selection of rare drinks to offer. Nice chap, comfortable bed, decor wasn't the normal boring standard fare but had some thought behind it and character. The food was delicious, we're picky wotsits and spent the next night in a different hotel, spending three times as much on a meal which had bits (rather than 7 courses) Recommend

Some minor maintenance issues but nothing worth mentioning. It's not 5* perfect but it's a nice place with character. Some road noise but silent at night so not a problem. Train tracks not the best view but tis what it is, there's a beach and the sea beyond and a beautiful castle behind. Stlll recommend it
