Our stay at Mike and Sue’s home, together with their dog Rusty, was exceptional in every way. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with the warmest hospitality imaginable. The house itself is beautiful and thoughtfully arranged to provide both maximum privacy and the perfect opportunities for friendly conversation. Mike and Sue are among the most gracious and attentive hosts we have ever met. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home, always ready with fantastic local tips, helpful recommendations, and genuine care for our comfort. Their kindness and generosity made our stay unforgettable. Breakfasts were a real highlight—delicious and always prepared with great attention to detail. We especially enjoyed sharing stories with Mike, Sue, and Rusty in the mornings, which made us feel like part of the family. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you are looking for a truly outstanding experience, with the perfect balance of privacy, comfort, and warm-hearted company, look no further. This was by far one of the best stays we have ever had!

The only minor drawback is that the accommodation is quite secluded, with not much around within walking distance. If you're looking for shops, restaurants, or nightlife nearby, you'll need to drive. However, the peaceful location is perfect for those seeking relaxation and quiet.

This place is located in a really beautiful area, the rooms are well taken care of (clean, comfortable, and very tastefully decorated), but more importantly, Sue and Mike (and Rusty!) are absolutely amazing. It was a pleasure to meet such kind people, and we were really sad to leave. And the breakfasts were the best!

Location is really good - easy to drive everywhere - Portmerion , Porthmadog for trains , Harlech Breakfast excellent , variety good and cooked well with fun and happiness by the hosts The hosts Sue & Mike are great , so friendly and helpful , nothing was too much trouble - highly recommend a stay with them . You have a private area outside bedroom with 2 seats , a little fridge, tea and coffee making facitlites, own well stocked bathroom. Everything you would need . The best best part is meeting and chatting with Mike and Sue and their dog King Rusty . Great place .

One of the best B&B's I've every stayed in. The most welcoming and friendliest hosts with outstanding accommodation. The rooms were comfortable, clean, airy, light and everything you could want (and more) was provided. I welcomed a window you can open (it was a warm August) a fan, a kettle with fresh milk, endless tea/coffee, a decent shower and to top it all the most incredible delicious full cooked breakfast. My teen was impressed with the USB chargers and a good wifi signal! My only regret is not having more time there to explore the gorgeous surroundings and chat more to Mike and Sue.

Nothing, it outclassed any hotel I have every stayed in.

The hosts Mike and Sue both made me feel very welcome immediately. They gave me some great tips for walks, motorcycle routes and taxi firms to use. They even let me jump in the car with them for a lift into town! I'm a motorcyclist and this place is so well hidden that my bike felt totally secure. Mike is a biker too; so we had plenty to talk about. The room and bathroom were both really good. The TV and firestick were also handy. There was actual fresh milk in a mini-fridge for the coffee, also cold water (needed that as it was very hot that day). Breakfast was made to order and was very tasty. Had a great time here, would book here again if I return to this area of Wales.

This is the best B&B I ever stayed in! Every little detail makes you feel like you are in a fairytale, honestly the photos don't make it justice. The location is great- 40 min from Snowdon and even closer if you are there to see the beaches. There is an amazing walk to a little chapel from where the view is stunning, going there you are passing by a lake full with water lilies, which was simply gorgeous. Parking, cleanliness, garden, breakfast- everything was spot on! And Sue and Mike are just the best host you can ever have- extremely helpful, friendly and would go out of their way to make your stay as good as possible! I can't wait to go back, I even booked my next stay already 😊

So many lovely little touches in the room - books, dvds , games , tv as well as hairdryer and everything you needed to make the stay so relaxed. The bathroom was so nice too with all the toiletry hits you need for a man and a woman . Breakfast was super delicious home cooked and personalised with nice little name tags on the table and tasty veggie extras .there was even granola and toast etc too we left very full We had such a nice well one from our hosts and also their adorable dog Rusty . Our stay at Yr Hen Farcdy was the most cosy and hospitable B&B we had the pleasure of staying at on our tour of Wales. Mike and Sue are the most amazing hosts and made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. They have a wealth of information to share about the area and can point you to all the best attractions. Our accommodation was perfect and provided everything we needed. The magical garden setting is such a peaceful surrounding and make the place very special. The breakfast was outstanding and delicious and we felt it was one of the best breakfasts of our trip. We can highly recommend Yr Hen Farcdy and would definitely return.

Sue and Mike are wonderful hosts! Their space is not only lovely and well located, but welcoming and cozy. In addition to our room and private bath, we were afforded a lovely sitting area just outside our room. Unfortunately, because of rain we weren’t able to use the lovely outdoor space in the garden, but they do offer a lovely outdoor space as well. Breakfast was cooked to order in the morning and there was plenty on offer. After checkout we were able to leave our car and go out for a hike in the surrounding woods. I recommend this, as it was very beautiful. Mike even lent us hiking poles to use to save my bad knee.

Loved it from the moment we arrived. So cute and cosy, loved all the decor and little touches. There is a reading nook, kettle, little fridge, loads of books. Very comfy beds - had a great nights sleep! Incredible breakfast with so much selection, a gorgeous spaniel and Mike and Sue are super friendly and welcoming hosts who gave so much useful advice. The location is lovely, with a short walk up the hill to a beautiful lake and fantastic views. What's not to like!!

That we only stayed one night... I already want to come back and stay for longer!
