Fantastic location in beautiful village. Room had a view over the village to the mountains. The bedrooms have been renovated since our last visit and are more modern and attractive. We asked for a choice of room when we arrived and chose one with a view and a bath. Very friendly, helpful staff. The staff work very hard and are very attentive to adapt to customer needs. I saw them provide an evening sandwich to someone even though it wasn’t on the menu. Comfortable, attractive bar/restaurant area to sit in the evening- and it’s nice to sit outside in the front when it’s warm enough. Good beer on tap. Lovely curries (we had one lamb and one chicken) and great Indian snack starter in the restaurant, lovely cheesecake too. Nice to have coffee/tea and biscuits replenished in the room each day. We didn’t eat breakfast here as we preferred to try different cafes in the village for breakfast. There’s a choice of restaurants in the village too. They are continuing to renovate so I expect it to improve and we would like to come back
It would be good to have blackout curtains as the light comes in - and to have some hand rails near the bath to help with getting out of it.

I had a very pleasant one-night stay at this lovely, old-fashioned hotel in a quiet and picturesque village in Wales. The surroundings are peaceful, and the town is just a short walk away—perfect for a relaxing evening stroll. The staff were all extremely friendly and hardworking, making us feel genuinely welcome. Breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared—definitely a highlight of the stay! This hotel is a great choice if you're passing through or preparing for a trip to Snowdon. A restful and authentic Welsh experience.

The location is brilliant. Beddgelert is a lovely place to stay and the hotel is ideal for walking around the village. The hotel is on the main road so it is easy to get in and out with ideal parking. The staff were really kind and friendly and welcoming. The room had everything we needed for a few days stay and the bed was pretty comfortable. The shower was hot and pressure was good for an old building. The price was very low and it felt good value for what we got. The evening menu was quite interesting and we had a good meal one night.
This hotel is very old and in need of some tlc. There is work going on in the hotel and I hope they can improve it. The work didn't disturb our stay at all. The decor is quite tired and needs some love. The breakfast was very basic and not particularly enjoyable. Cheap bread, lack of fruit, no pastries. There was an adequate selection to fuel up for the day but nothing special.

Lady and current manager was charming, sincere and extremely professional from the moment I walked in to the moment I retired for the evening after an excellent dinner. Couldn't ask for better.
Food was excellent as were the staff, evening and over breakfast. Hotel its situated in a prime location and albeit a little tired, you couldn't really fault it. I hope the decor is updated and modernised because this hotel has decades left in it but it really needs a fresh look in my personal opinion. Again genuine customer focus is brilliant here.

Charming period hotel, very dog friendly, our dogs were allowed in the bar with us which we appreciated. The bed was very comfortable which is my number one priority! The shower was also very good. We stayed New Years Eve, the main restaurant was full so we didn't sample that menu, but husband and l had lovely chicken and lamb curries in the bar area, the couple next to us said their vegan and vegetarian curries were also delicious. Breakfast the next morning was great, the usual cooked breakfast choices and plenty of continental help yourself options too. I would definitely recommend if you like hotels with some character. As for the area, it couldn't have been more beautiful.
Everything was fine. It's still undergoing renovation in places but nowhere that affected us. Slightly pricier than i'd normally like but on the whole I'd have to say it was worth it.

The room and bathroom were good and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The dinner menu had some excellent curries on offer aswell as the usual fare.
There was wifi but I couldn't get a connection in my room on the top floor. It was OK everywhere else. Dinner is not available on Mondays, although there is no real problem as there are plenty of options a few hundred yards away. There is a bar but no real ale on offer. Some details are a little tired. For example, it was impossible to keep the sah window open in my room.

We had a very pleasant stay at The Royal Goat Hotel - good situation in a beautiful setting - good weather helped, of course. Excellent walking of all levels (literally!) in the area, river-side or more challenging options available, plus a steam railway within yards of the Hotel. Very helpful and pleasant staff, excellent breakfasts to start the day and good evening fare when day is done. I was silly enough to take my room key away with me when we left, and had to return it by post - and was really pleased when the Hotel rang to confirm safe receipt of the key (and forbore calling me an idiot). Recommended.
No real issues, narrow roads expected but still challenging in places were the only real problems encountered but that is not down to the hotel.

Great base for exploring Snowdonia. The room I have was spacious and it was a nice touch that they added a little radiator for extra warmth given it was winter. Also plenty of wardrobe room. The couple running it were very helpful and friendly.
The isn't really a"don't like", more that quite understandably given that it was lowest of low season, they didn't open the restaurant at night. I would love to see this hotel when it's full and buzzing😄. There are, however a couple of pubs that both do great food within a couple of minutes walk.

Fantastic location. Lovely village. Comfortable large room with view. Comfortable bed. Great to have a bath that filled quickly as well as a shower. Enjoyed real ale in the bar. Friendly atmosphere and friendly bar staff. Nice to have coffee, tea and biscuits refilled every day. Easy to walk to restaurants, bars and countryside walks. The hotel has improved since we last visited in 2019. The hotel is still being refurbished so hopefully it will improve even further.
Shower temperature was difficult to set as there were separate hot and cold taps. There was nobody around at checkout time. The window frame / window sill and walls would benefit from being painted. Music in the bar and restaurant was too loud and was annoying - it was not subtle background music - so it did not create a relaxed atmosphere so we didn’t stay long to drink there and chose not to eat there.

Perfect location in the beautiful Beddgelert. Staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was generous with a variety of cooked items on offer. We also had dinner there a couple of times during the week. Very happy with everything.
