I don’t know where to start with what we liked about Aberdunant Hall. Set in the most beautiful of surroundings in the hills of North Wales, the hotel is beautifully appointed with lots of its character being retained. Our room was amazing with a lovely view and superb facilities. A huge comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom with a brilliant double shower. The food here was so good. Portions were large without sacrificing quality and a good choice on the menu. At breakfast there were plenty of options with everything fresh. The hotel has a lovely terrace where you can sit and have a pleasant drink on a nice evening. But, the best aspect of Aberdunant hall is the staff! Attentive without being intrusive, so helpful and very friendly. From helping with luggage to suggestions of where to visit they could not have been better. And we did meet quite a few members of staff so it seemed to be everyone who had the same helpful, friendly disposition.

Nothing at all.

The surroundings are incredible! It's a beautiful place, with plenty of walks and places to explore. Even just on the grounds, there's so much to do. It's also very conveniently located for exploring locally, with Porthmadog close by and activities from national trusts to beaches and lakes. We all really enjoyed the kids play area. The restaurant was excellent too, with fantastic food and plenty of kids options. Every staff member went above and beyond for us, I can't thank them enough. We stayed in a cabana, which was perfect for us with all the amenities we needed. Highly recommend!

Super friendly staff at hotel reception. Nice clean and comfortable room.

We would have given 10 out of ten but an incident when we were leaving ruined our stay. A Calor gas truck was delivering gas containers and instead of using the parking space in front of the Calor gas storage he decided to block our exit despite seeing us he decided to start unloading instead of reversing into the parking space. The member of hotel staff who was with him came to our car and very rudely told us to go back(The wrong way in a one way system or alternatively wait a long time while they continued) we were obviously concerned about driving the wrong way in a one way system of narrow roads and where told We’ll I’m just telling you that’s the other way out and we will be ages if you choose to wait. It wasn’t just his words his tone was particularly aggressive.

Beautiful site. Cabanas are great and the hotel bar is lovely with lots of drinks available at reasonable prices too. Staff we very friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed.

To make it a 10/10 for us, bar food could be available rather than having to book in the restaurant, or having pizzas available more than just on selected days would be a huge plus! In the cabana, a standing lamp would be good rather than just the spotlights or having to have the main light on as it attracts flies at night. Also, maybe a net for the doors so they can stay open without flies coming in, etc. And blinds - the cabana we were in didn't have blinds in the top windows, so it was really bright, super early, and it was especially disturbing on the top bunk.

Everything about the stay in one of the rooms (No7) in the hall, the staff, the food, was very professional. The room was a very good size and spotlessly clean. Every member of staff we met, from checking in, working in the bar, serving the excellent food in the evening and dealing with the breakfast in the morning were a credit to the hotel and should be recognised (at least thanked) by the owners, doesn't happen enough in hospitality.

What I didn't like is the sheer amount of annoying messages and emails from the moment I booked the room. Then I booked a breakfast and the messages and emails doubled, I then booked an evening meal and was bombarded by even more emails. In all I counted 18!! The only emails we need is confirmation of booking a room and a table once! No constant reminders or requests to confirm each booking (more than once) Eventually I blocked them, not ideal for your business.

What a fantastic find. Such a beautiful setting . Although did miss the turning the first time to the Hall. The staff are all exceptional and very friendly from the moment you walk through the door. Nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in the main hotel rooms and they were a great size, spotlessly clean and everything you needed. Tea and coffee facilities and a welcome bottle of water. We walked around the grounds . Which are well kept and stunning. Waterfalls, woodlands and a well kept main garden. The cabins looked amazing too. Breakfast was buffet service and plentiful and something for everyone. When we arrived on the Sunday we had make an evening reservation in the restaurant and I didn’t realise it was carvery only on a Sunday. Two of us are none meat eaters . I asked if there was a vegetarian option and was advised there were two options. Vegetable roast or a vegetable curry. We went for the curry option which was exceptional. Very flavoursome and came with all the accompaniments. Would definitely return again if visiting the area and would highly recommend.

Nice property, setting and location. A short distance to Portmerion. The beds were very comfortable and the hot tub was a great little addition.

Disappointed that they don’t even provide the very basic toiletries in the bathrooms such as soap and shower gel, surface cleaners in the kitchen and not even enough initial toilet paper for 5 people!. Description on booking.com says you get iron but that was not provided in our cabin so the list needs to be amended to reflect this so guests can come prepared! I have stayed in similar accommodation elsewhere and these basics have all been provided.

Great site, had lovely meal on arrival in the restaurant, nice patio / bar area outside and the accommodation was very good. The hot tub was excellent and the Wi-Fi was fast & easy to setup. Shower was good, lounge was comfy, very clean. Fantastic location, close to some of the best riding roads I've ever been on.

We were on motorcycles so couldn't bring much, site advertised tea / coffee making facilities so we were kind of expecting some complimentary sachets or such but there weren't any, also only had 1 toilet roll no spare which in a lodge that sleeps 6 (3 of us) seems a bit tight which leads to the final issue, no shop on site that we could find to get basics like this despite how big the site is. Had to gear up again and ride to town to get basics.

The Cabana 11 is gorgeous. Neat compact unit with everything you’d need. Kitchen, lounge area, bathroom and bed. The bed although small is comfortable and the curtain you can pull around makes the area dark. The Hall serves meals and we had the 2 course Carvery and a bottle of wine at dinner. It was delicious and we’re impressed with the food. Definitely could have stayed here longer than the 2 days. It wasn’t expected but the unit was serviced and our bed was made. We’d hung our towels so they were left and I’d done the washing up and that was dried and put away.

We were a little confused as to where to go to check in. We followed the check in signs to the main building but were sent back to the Sales Office. The bed is, what they call in a caravan, an East West bed, so someone has to climb over the other. Not an ideal situation when you’re a senior who needs to go a couple of times a night. Shame because otherwise this accommodation would be perfect.

The grounds and lodge/mobile home (we booked one of each for our respective party) were spotless and there were such lovely walks around the site. The site was quiet and peaceful with guests being respectful of others during their stays, so one was able to drink a morning coffee in silence, enjoying the sound of the birds/nature. The restaurant food was delicious and staff were very attentive. As a family of varying ages we would stay here again. We stayed for 2 nights. I would say 3 nights is the right amount of time.

Would have loved a pool and on site shop (just stocking some basics - milk / paper).
