On arrival, we were told bluntly and without apology, that the first floor room (No1) was not available as it had been re-plastered and was not yet dry. i explained that I had particularly requested that particular room as I have difficulty with stairs and because of its larger size. The room had been displayed as "available" on the Bookings site and my reservation had been accepted. The lady told us she had allocated us room 9 on the top floor, directly above room 1. Room 9 was unheated and far from what we expected. we went down to the bar to warm up and another member of staff, Monad, approached us with a cheery welcome and asked us if everything was to our satisfaction. I replied that everything was fine apart from our disappointment with the room. Monad seemed surprised that we had been put in room 9 by her colleague and immediately arranged for us to be transferred to Room 4, a very pleasant room on the first floor. With the exception of this rather unpleasant start at the hands of one member of staff who badly needs to improve her "people" skills, we enjoyed our stay immensely and would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation to our friends. The comfort, food, location, value for money and (with one exception) the staff easily deserve an "excellent" rating.
Our reception on arrival. It is a pity that this member of staff let the rest of her colleagues down so badly. The establishment would, I think, do itself a favour by minimising her contact with guests, rather that have her meeting and greeting.

Beautiful, relaxing, very friendly staff, meals catered for everyone. Lots of character, superb location..
One problem was the parking. The car park was close by but extortionate prices especially if staying over night or for any length of time. I recommend you do your homework on the best place to park, before you go or get really lucky and get one of the 5/6 spaces outside the hotel itself. We were lucky and swapped places with the staff who were leaving the hotel after paying £14 for 18hrs which would have had to be topped up again at 5.30am or risk a fine. We should have just paid for a few hours until we found somewhere better to park. Don't make the same mistake we did.

Great little pub with awesome location. Enough in room to get along with Breakfast included was nice - we would prefer it for dinner though! The staff are all really nice & helpful
Our room was TINY but hey it was cheap. The plumbing is ridiculously noisy The shower head was falling apart It’s not great knowing that dogs have been allowed in the rooms … not great for anyone with allergies Coming back to our room mid morning to find a key in our door & no one nearby was NOT good - the cleaning staff had been in but left a key in our door - anyone could have gone into our room & stolen our stuff when they weren’t looking. Not very happy about that one!

The location was perfect. Parking right outside. A lovely welcome. All the staff night and morning were lovely people; especially one member called Alaw who made us feel like we had known her forever and accommodated us with whatever we required. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and very tasty. We will definitely recommend and return whenever we visit Caernarfon in the future.
Absolutely nothing to complain about! We heard that someone had complained about the noise at night; it is a pub/restaurant which is a local to many locals; if you want to have no noise then may I suggest staying on top of a mountain. No complaints from us 👍🤗

Location is fantastic. Room small but very clean with all the facilities needed plus the most amazing view. We didn’t expect perfection from a B&B of this age and while the room did have obvious signs of wear and tear it can easily be overlooked and we had a lovely 2 night stay. The breakfast was wonderful, the bar and restaurant also wonderful and there are genuinely friendly and helpful staff. Parking right alongside but is limited however the is also ample parking a couple of minutes walk away, alongside the castle at Slate Quay car park.

On arrival, we were met by two of the staff. They were very courteous, well mannered. We were then shown to our room, given times of breakfast. There were adequate towels, toiletries and tea coffee making facilities. The bed & room were clean. The breakfast was well presented, hot and tasty & a joy to eat. Nothing was too much trouble for the waitress.
Our only negative was, that the bathroom was so small. Although the shower worked very well, quite spacious, there were signs of mould on the silicone round the shower base. Although this is cosmetic, it does look unsightly to the eye. The washbasin can only be described as a bird bath. Very small, hard to have a wash & shave in. You could sit on the toilet and have a wash at the same time, due to the closeness of them both. In fairness to the hotel, there wasn't much room for any alteration to the basin or toilet.

The view from our room was stunning. The wifi was very fast. Easy walking distance to town and amenities. Everything worked. The staff were very accommodating and adaptable in requests. The bed was very comfortable.
The room decor was quite tired and the furniture was mismatched and some of it was broken. The window furnishings didn't fit the windows and left gaps. Unfortunately the deliveries were very early 05:00 and the waste collection was also 05:00 so if you want a quiet stay it's probably not for you.

Location was awesome. We had a great view of the Menai Strait. Also, we were running a race with an early start so wasn’t expecting to be able to get breakfast. However, the chef said he would cater for us despite the early start. Great customer service.
Not so much dislike but we were in a family room and it was right above the bar on a warm evening so there was quite a lot of noise reaching the room. It didn’t bother us as we were up late but may be an issue for a younger family who go to bed earlier.

Location is brilliant though being right in the castle and harbour area the on site free parking is limited but the staff are very helpful and we did manage to park on site every night. There are good pay parks near by if needed. Breakfast and evening meals are very good quality and value.
It is an old quirky building built into the city wall and adjacent to the castle. Unfortunately such an interesting and characterful old building is a maintenance nightmare both technically and financially and it does need some serious money spent on it.

Really great location right by the castle with a view out to sea. Room was nice and considering the age of the building, they have done a good job of refurbishing them. Staff were friendly and asked several times if everything was ok. The breakfast was cooked perfectly and really tasty, was what we ordered and right on time. The pub noise was quite muffled and died down reasonably early and we had no problem sleeping.
We had the room that didn't pick the wifi up, but we could in the rest of the hotel
