Excellent location, amazing indoor swimming pool, spacious family room, separate bar (indoor pub) and restaurant. Good selections for breakfast. Car parking dotted around the hotel with lots of space. Overall highly recommend hotel for visit to Snowdonia and surrounding areas.

Kids under 16 can only swim until 6pm, however most nights we didn't return to hotel until late. Not a deal breaker but worth bearing in mind if you're travelling with kids.

Parts of the car park were very steep !Walls in the room very thin could hear everything and bathroom in the double rooms very small and the safe didn’t work did report it but still didn’t work

The breakfast was good, The hotel was set well with plenty to do. The room was a good size. The beds were comfy although I did find that some of the beds were different it was okay for me and my husband. My eldest son didn't find his bed very comfy but my younger son found it like a cloud. Most the staff eas very polite and welcoming.

Some features could be updated such as the mirror in the bathroom was a bit chipped on the edges and the room was quite warm as their was no air conditioning. There could have been more choice on the breakfast such as fruit. There was a no diving sign but the kids were warned not to jump in the pool and if they were caught, we would have to leave. I found this a little bit unfriendly especially due to the lack of signage. There is also a lack of sound proofing as you can hear people walk past and in the room above. Also food and drink prices were pricey compared to local restaurants.

The staff were superb! Very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is a 3 star but a part from the rooms needing a little modernising, we thought it was more like 4 star… we liked the charm and character ’as is’. They are extremely dog friendly and for the extra cost of £25 they include a dog bed and bowl to use in the room and a free bag of Waggs - little touches like these which are often missed these days. Breakfast was super and the short walk into town was fab! Free parking too! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The room was very hot with no way of turning it down but the bed was so comfy it didn’t spoil the stay

Everything about the Royal Celtic is relaxing. This hotel has old world charm and service is one of their top priorities. Service was always delivered with a smile. This was our second time to the property so we knew what to expect and it didn't disappoint. We knew from our previous visit that making a dinner reservation was very important and I have to admit that the dinner quality was above our expectations and at a very reasonable price.

Our stay there was during a very hot period and there is no air conditioning in the bedrooms, this is not a critique, just something to be aware of. The hotel provided a quiet fan, and with the window open, the room soon cooled down. A small price to pay for the rest of the amenities.

The woman who worked at the reception was very helpful and friendly. Since we arrived with a dog and dogs are not allowed in the dining area for breakfast, she offered us a separate room. She prepared a table there for our family to have breakfast. We also liked the gift for our pet. Everything was prepared, including a bed and a bowl for water. We also enjoyed the sauna and swimming in the pool. Thank you, all these steps were pleasant.

I didn't like that the room was very hot with no air conditioning, and there was only one very small window that didn't open much. The bed was also a little uncomfortable; it was fine for one night, but not great if we had to stay longer.

The breakfast was good - full english, muesli, fruits, coffee. The room was quiet and comfy. The parking is big and location is very convenient as for reaching the city from mountains, as for city walks. Big ASDA in front of hotel for any snacks you need in hikes. Nice SPA zone with sauna, steam room, cold shower, jacuzzi and pool.

The light in the bathroom is operated from the switch near the room entrance - you always need to go far, which is quite weird. There were only four plug sockets in the room - be prepared if need to charge some electronics. The breakfast did not have any fresh vegetables - only grilled tomatoes for full-english, and no pancakes mentioned in the advertisement in the lift. SPA rules are very strict for kids (<16) - always need to have adult with them, sauna or steam room is forbidden, the pool is shallow and quite cold, jacuzzi is in the pool, so quite cold too, no early morning or late evening access for kids.

Location of the hotel. Central to visit Eryri. Hotel Leasiure facilities are rare in this area.

The Bed was very comfortable but the Bedroom and bathroom were very dated. Bathroom looked like something from B&Q in the 1980s. Tiles looked like they were supplied from Tiles R Us. The Bedroom was big but had no personality. Painted yellow walls with a red carpet and the television was the size of my laptop computer placed in the corner of the room. Why? Should be face on. No sockets by the side of the bed. Seriously they need to strip the rooms down and make them acceptable for the 2025 visitors. Bedrooms need urgent attention otherwise the modern traveller will opt to stay elsewhere.

The swimming and facilities were really nice, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Parts of the hotel were dated, the first room we was given was at the rear of the hotel was dark ( possibly because of the scaffolding that was also all across the back of the hotel) dated and in need of a renovation. It also had a dreadful continue humming noise, which I reported to reception within 10mins of checking in, as they wasn’t sure what the noise was or where it was coming from they moved us to a room at the front of the hotel, which we was told was a newly revamped room and likely that room didn’t disappoint.

My rib eye steak was perfect and my wife’s lamb steak was beautiful. Free parking is a real asset The lounge areas are pleasant The swimming pool was good The gym is small but very well equipped

The hotel is currently being refurbished with scaffolding around part of it. It does feel slightly tired in parts
