Lovely hotel & rooms. We were in “Shack” and “Beach House” - very well decorated with views of the sea (see attached photo). Nice restaurant & bar area with good food. Restaurant is popular so it’s a good idea to book in advance. 2 mins walk to beach. Nice bars and cafes close by. Great location for exploring the area.

Top floor room (“Shack”) is in the attic so got quite hot when it was sunny (& about 20 deg in May). A fan was provided but it was still warm at night. No private parking for hotel. Parking is restricted on road next to hotel (1 hr max during the day from May-Sept). Car park round the corner is £10 per day.

The room decor is lovely with a classic nautical feel, as is the hotel reception, bar and restaurant areas.

As staying guests, no advanced option or offer to reserve a table. As travelling with a dog, we were offered the outdoor terrace only and much later in the evening which didn’t suit us personally. Staff not as engaging or friendly as other hotels we have stayed in which could have been due to the busy nature of the hotel perhaps. On the night of our stay in question, a comedy night was being held in the bar opposite, where many drinkers were stood outdoors shouting and talking loudly until around 0030. As the room had no a/c, we had the windows open which was a little disruptive to sleeping.

The room was beautiful and was super clean, with a lovely touch of coffee, tea and croissants and fresh orange juice being delivered on a tray outside the room.

This is only a suggestion, although the room is beautifully decorated and designed I found it really difficult to dry my hair as the cable from the hairdryer wouldn’t stretch so I could not see the mirror. An easy suggestion would be to provide either an extension lead or a hairdryer with a longer lead. Also a lot the bathroom floor tiles are loose under foot which is a shame as they are only a couple of years old.

Really lovely service by all involved. Helen particularly friendly and helpful. Very good local draft beers. Excellently presented food both for breakfast and evening meal. Better dining experience than anywhere in the area.

The outer door to the accommodation stairs should remain shut as I believe the fumes from the kitchen go upstairs. I have stayed in the hotel twice and both times, it appears that they were short-staffed. Some sort of arrangement should be made with the local council about Parking. Staff were very helpful with this, but nevertheless, it could be a problem/stress for some.

High quality food - exceptional breakfast and good menu to choose from. At dinner we liked the Banana Board dessert so much we went in just to have that one night! Room was very spacious and the decor also a high standard They were very welcoming of our baby, staff very friendly and helpful. Great location and short walk from the lovely beach at Rhosneigr

It’s very nice, but given the price I felt like missed a bit of the service level WiFi was a massive pain to use and our Smart TV didn’t have HD or have access to streaming all week due to a fault with connection that staff were unable to resolve during our 3-night stay

Hotel was lovely! We stayed in Beach House room and we couldn’t fault it - beautiful! Staff all really friendly, helpful and efficient! And breakfast was superb. Great food and choice. We had lunch there on our arrival day too - again, great food.

We liked everything! The only one tiny negative was the side path to Reception door is a little untidy and uneven. Didnt really effect us, but it could look a bit prettier. Also, parking! We were lucky to get street parking outside, as it wasn’t too busy. But the rules for that are changing this month, so that won’t be allowed. However, staff informed us that parking will then be at their sister hotel a few minutes walk away.

The room was stunning and very comfortable, everything in there was high quality. The breakfast was delicious but i can't comment on restaurant food as didn't eat here in the evening. Would definitely stay again.

The only thing i was a tiny bit disappointed in was the breakfast tray was left outside the room but noone knocked, so we didn't know it was there. By the time we went to go for breakfast it was too late to enjoy it as we'd have missed breakfast. Maybe make people aware it will just be left and a rough idea of time it will arrive when checking in.

We have stayed many times and love the hotel. The staff are always friendly and helpful and always go the extra mile

Breakfast was great apart from our toast didn’t come until about 10 minutes after the rest of our breakfast and as it was scrambled eggs on toast was a little disappointing as the egg had gone cold but apart from that everything was fine. Also we had the baked Camembert on the Saturday evening which came with balsamic biscotti which was absolutely rock hard and couldn’t eat it - thankfully we had ordered some chargrilled garlic sourdough which was perfect with the Camembert. I didn’t think the biscotti is a good choice to go with baked Camembert- just my opinion

Room was spacious with good casual seaside decor Restaurant decor was lovely too. Staff were friendly and very helpful when asked. Food was good too.

The staircase up to the rooms was narrow and steep. It was difficult to carry our luggage up. The reception area for the rooms was tiny and messy. It didn’t match up to the size and quality of the bar and restaurant areas. At the back of the restaurant, before the outdoor area, there was a sort of conservatory piled up messily with cushions for outside. Our room was clean apart from the blinds and vintage radiator which were covered in thick dust and obviously the cleaner never thought to clean those. Both times that I sat on the bench seat in the restaurant , it had crumbs on it from earlier diners. These are all small things, but it felt that a manager was needed to check these things out, as the individual staff were so pleasant and nice.

We have visited the SMH for a number of years for food and drink only and decided a stay was needed. Expectations were beyond met. Dog friendly with dog friendly rooms (not that you would ever know from the cleanliness) The food is always excellent so we knew what we were getting there. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Considering the quality of food and service you are recieving, it's real value for money.

Nothing against the hotel or staff? But need to control ridiculously loud people in the bar area. Appreciate it's a bar, but it's a classy bar and can be controlled with a discreet word from the staff? If that's all I've got, I guess you can see how high we rate SMH
