Jan, the host was amazingly friendly and helpful. Rooms were beautifully decorated, comfortable, and equipped with all essentials. It was a lovely surprise to be upgraded on arrival and also to find a bottle of wine waiting for us. Wonderful stay.

if you like an in-town location (as we do) Victoria House is a gem. Ideally located on the inside of the old town wall, two blocks from the castle, the main square, restaurants and shops, close to the water (river and straight) and the marina, and yet quiet with a residential feel. The building is quiet, beautiful and well maintained. The owner, Jan is everything you would like in a host - welcoming, helpful and generous with local information. She provided a permit for the car park a 5 minute walk away and took us there to make sure there was no confusion. Parking is also available on the block, and we found parking there within 30 meters of the house on all 4 nights of our stay.

Absolutely nothing

A beautiful property owned and run by lovely Jan. I stayed 3 nights in the Superior King room, which had everything and more for a comfortable, relaxing break. Its central location up against the old town walls is great for exploring all this interesting destination has to offer. Jan puts all her efforts into providing the little extras that make this guest house special. A lack of breakfast is, therefore, not an issue, as there are many eateries within a few minutes walk away, including a Wetherspoons that opens at 8 a.m. for early risers like myself. If your dates are available, don't hesitate to make Victoria House your number one choice. I thoroughly recommend it. Wishing you well for the future, Jan.

Nothing apart from the noisy gulls that wake up too early, but that's not under anyone's control.

The staff are super nice and friendly. They provided parking permits that allowed us to park just in front of the main door. The decoration is truly beautiful and very classic. The bed was huge and very comfy (and so were the pillows). Everything was super clean and there were a lot of details such as tea, coffee, cookies, a capable little fridge in the room and the place is dog friendly to boot. The street is also very quiet, thus, although our room had windows facing it we could sleep without any bother.And if you are interested in visiting the castle, they are just on the side of it. Amazing location.We will repeat without hesitation!!!

This exceptional gem was a perfect place from which to explore the beauty of this area of Wales. Great location, within the walls surrounding the town and Castle. Welsh Heritage Railway a 12 minute walk from the house offers scenic steam train journeys through the Snowdonia National Park. Victoria House is beautifully furnished in a period style in keeping with its Grade 2 listing each room has its own unique charm. We had a delightful stay here and will definitely return.

We loved our stay at Victoria house, we stayed for 3 nights, with free parking in the street out front. Location is perfect, within the city walls and a good base for exploring northern wales. Jan is the most hospitable host. The room was very comfortable with a welcome bottle of wine and little nibbles. We had the Seaview room which had a lovely view overlooking the water (from a single window) which fully opens up. Bed was comfy. Would definitely stay here again.

My bus into Aberystwyth was late and I missed my connection to Caernarfon. The next one was 2 hours later which meant I would arrive at the Victoria outside the booking in times. I contacted Jan to let her know and she was very accommodating even though she was under the weather and said their would be no problem. She was very welcoming when I did eventually arrive. Room was very well laid out and facilities were second to none. No problem recommending this accommodation.

I recently stayed at Victoria House and it was an absolutely perfect experience from start to finish. Jan and her team went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The room with the sea view was simply stunning that made my stay even more special. What really set this stay apart was the fact that I could bring my dog along with me. Finding a hotel that not only allows pets but also makes them feel welcome is a rare treat. This thoughtful touch was truly the cherry on top of an already fantastic experience. Thank you to Jan and her team for their exceptional hospitality. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay!

Jan gave us a lovely warm welcome when we arrived on our bikes doing Wales end to end. Bikes stored safely. Welcome drinks in the fridge. Great tips for our evening meal. Our room in this characterful house was gorgeous. Luxurious touches such as ground coffee, Portmeirion crockery and comfy bed and bedding. It was our favourite place of all that we stayed in during our 1 week tour and we highly recommend Victoria House for a perfectly located stay in Caernarfon.

We stayed overnight as we were attending an event in Caernarvon in the evening. The accommodation, the locality and the room's comfort were excellent. From the moment I'd booked, Victoria house had got in touch, offering hospitality and giving us both directions and helpful suggestions to questions I'd asked. A good and comfortable stay and I would not hesitate to re-book when we visit Caernarvon, hopefully later this year. Also, a good night's sleep for us both and comfortable bed !
