We had a lovely stay at the Taly Don. We were able to check in at 1pm (which was really useful so we could leave our luggage) and were greeted and shown to our room by a friendly and polite young man, who offered to carry bags up the 2 flights of steps. The room was very clean and a good size which was great as we had our dog with us. The room had bottled water and a good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits. Bedding was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfy, so we slept well! Shower room (with smallish cubicle) was also very clean and nice, big towels are provided. Hotel is in a good, central location- close to the beach, train station and other amenities. A real bonus here was the super breakfast included. The lady serving the breakfast was really friendly and professional and made us (and our dog) feel very welcome. The cooked breakfast was great quality and beautifully cooked- we really enjoyed it. The whole place felt like somewhere that genuinely cared that their guests had a good stay. Thank you! We hope to return again soon.

the hotel is in a excellent location, right in the middle of the town so within walking distance to the beach and shops. The staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great - it was freshly cooked and offered a wider choice. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is part of a pub - so you need to walk through the pub to access your room- which was uncomfortable for my daughter. Also the night time music didn't help... along with the church clock that chimes on the hour. The stairs were also an issue - there is no lift, so access maybe an issue for those with mobility concerns. In light of this, I would recommend this hotel for able bodied adults that are looking for a bit of evening entertainment - as it is a family run business and they are very welcoming.

The lock on the room door didn’t feel as secure as it should. Staircase to the rooms could be more inviting. Breakfast starts at 8.30am, would have been nice for 7/7.30am breakfast as we had to skip our breakfast, due to the later time as we had a race. But the breakfasts looked amazing! We saw some come out as we had a coffee.

We had a lovely stay, the staff are so friendly and helpful, a real home from home, our bed was so comfortable and the little extras like biscuits and water was a nice add, location was perfect 😊 Toby our dog enjoyed his stay too

Nothing really, a little noisy with the delivery early morning, but that's probably because we were in the front bedroom, didn't ruin our stay👍

We booked this last minute and was not disapointed the pub/hotel was perfect clean and in the town centre room was super the food and breakfast was top quality even my partner ate all and he is a funny eater but really did enjoy thanks to the chef everything we needed was available would definitly be returning in the future and would recommend to anyone staff was amazing very polite friendly and helpful amazing little gem thank you for the perfect stay

The location of the pub was great for the beach, the room we stayed in was large it had chairs and a table, a comfy bed, large tv and good shower. Tea coffee biscuits and breakfast all included. All the staff we met were friendly.

Room could to with a bit of maintenance and a carpet clean. Overall good value for the price we paid

Curtain poll falling off Electric wires dangling from Tv Bathroom door needs painting fire doors propped open - I told the owner but they didn’t do anything Garden tables dirty Strong air freshener smell in room - Overpowering for allergies Asked if room had been used with pets - Told no but later found it was - I am now unwell We have stayed before but I felt attention to detail and safety lacked

Everything was perfect, The best dog friendly place we've ever stayed. The staff was absolutely amazing, the bedrooms are big, clean and well equipped with everything you'll need. Everytime we come Barmouth from now on which will be a few times a year we will always stay in this hotel. Thank you for a perfect stay ❤️

Some noise late at night but it's to be expected, it's a pub! No complaints here. Ear plugs are your friend wherever you stay! Also lively during the day as it's a real sun trap, again no problem for us.

This is a lively, friendly pub in the centre of town, it seems to be open all the time, the beer is good, the meals are good value. The rooms are above the bar but the building is solid and there was no noise problem - though there is Bingo and Karaoke on Sunday nights. Our room was lovely. The TV was rather small, but this was good - we didn't watch telly all week!

There was nothing I didn't like. If you want something posh and formal go somewhere else, but it suited us just fine.
