Breakfast was very good with waiter service for all courses and plenty of choice. The room was lovely with a huge bathroom and walk-in shower. The ambience of the hotel was very peaceful and relaxing.

A snack menu at lunchtimes as we did not always want a full meal. More drawer space in the bedroom as the wardrobe had no shelving. A better description of the hotel's position as it is up a hill and a good half hour walk from Malaga centre ( we did find a direct bus into town at the bottom of the hill this could have been pointed out on our arrival but wasn't).

The hotel allocated a beautiful room with a balcony on the top floor. The views were stunning We loved the breakfasts The location of the hotel is amazing and it’s less than 10 minutes walk to the beach

It would have been nice to have a pool to swim in apart from the plunge pool Also the dinner menu is very expensive and limited My wife ordered duck which arrived cold and very tough. I ordered steak which arrived with approx 6 chips on a side plate Also the bed side lockers are very small

The bedroom was beautifully decorated and the beds comfortably . Love the windows. Bathroom gorgeous and spacious.

The reception area was a big disappointment. They definitely neglected on this area. The only nice thing was the warm welcome that we received from the Bellman . Everything else’s in the reception area needs improvement to match the rest of the Hotel .

Old castle, beautiful building. We had a junior suite which was fantastic, clean, spacious, well designed.

No 24 hours room service in 5 star hotel?! We arrived at 23:00 and we offered uber eats?! Breakfast staff was extremely slow and semi friendly.

The first room we were given overlooked the courtyard/breakfast/dining area. It was a beautiful room but very noisy until after midnight with other guests enjoying a birthday celebration and then again, from seven in the morning with staff preparing tables for breakfast. We asked if we could be moved to a quieter part of the hotel and we were given a new (and equally lovely) room away from the courtyard area. The staff couldn’t have been nicer or more obliging. The building and surrounding gardens and Moorish ruins were gorgeous.

The pool was quite small but the view from the pool area is amazing. The hotel restaurant menu was quite expensive. A few simple and affordable options would be very welcome.

Last Friday, we decided on a spontaneous trip to find a peaceful place where we could relax and recharge. While browsing Booking.com, we came across this stunning hotel – and what a gem it turned out to be! We booked our tickets right away, flew out Saturday morning, and from the very first moment, everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel is absolutely beautiful – elegant, well-maintained, and full of character and history. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the incredibly kind and welcoming staff. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The surroundings are breathtaking: peaceful, scenic, and full of charm. We had four amazing days and genuinely felt sad to leave. This hotel completely won us over, and one thing is certain: we’ll definitely be coming back later this year!

Our flight landed at 2:00 AM, and by the time we got to the hotel, it was around 4:00 AM. We slept and had breakfast until 12:00 PM. I asked the reception if we could do a late check-out since we were still waiting for our rental car, but they refused. We also asked if we could wait in the garden, but they didn’t allow it. The only kindness they showed was putting a few chairs near the restroom so we could sit while waiting. Honestly, I feel sorry for how they treated their guests.

The hotel is beautiful, set in a former moorish castle on a hilltop overlooking the sea and Málaga. Very interesting buildings create a peaceful and exotic setting for relaxation. The bedrooms are simply decorated but with supremely comfortable beds and pillows. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea was awesome.

The dinner menu is quite short so choice is a little limited. Our sea bass and shoulder of lamb were delicious but did not come with many vegetables which was a shame.. The air conditioning in the room was quite noisy. It would be useful to have an even lower fan setting for overnight use.

From booking to my departure, SB Castillo de Santa Catalina was very responsive, considerate, and accommodating to requests. Hotel staff were warm and friendly. I felt welcome and taken care of. As its name says, the hotel is a small castle, preserved from the late 1600s. The spacious room was fantastic, lovely view of the hills and a small view of the sea. The four poster bed was luxurious and bathroom spotless. The place was very peaceful, away from the hustle of the city center. Takes around 30 minutes' walk or 7-10 minutes drive from the center. Or use the bike rentals available at the hotel. The distance is worth it if you want quiet hours during your stay and waking up to birdsong and a lovely sunrise view. If I return to Malaga, I will stay here again, and I will definitely recommend it to friends and family.
