When booking my trip to izmir I wanted a hotel that was in a good location and a balcony with a nice view. At first after reading the reviews I was a bit skeptical about if I was going to get the balcony that I wanted as the information on the reviews and listing is not very clear but I took the chance anyway. I'm glad I took the chance and booked hotel 86 I cannot stop singing the praises of this hotel. The location is amazing right outside is the metro and right opposite is a huge bazaar that has pretty much everything in it. You could also catch a taxi outside or just walk a couple of mins to use the tram. The staff are lovely and the facilities are great. The room was lovely and clean looked exactly like the listing pictures. breakfast was your standard turkish style buffet breakfast (cold meats, veggies, tea, cheeses etc) which is not my kind of breakfast but my husband went everyday and loved it. I can't fault this hotel the balcony was stunning the perfect place to just wind down after a long day of exploring. The balcony was a small balcony but it was big enough for me to take the 2 chairs and small table from inside of the room out and sit comfortably to see the view of the city. I was given a baby cot on request which my son loved to play and sleep in. There was room cleaning everyday. The staff spoke limited english but made the effort to communicate and meet your needs. There was complimentary biscuits at reception and a complimentary soup that was served everynight which my husband loved. The rooftop restaurant views were stunning which is where breakfast was also served. The location was brilliant with everything within walking distance the pier, clocktower and bazaar all being within a 10-15 min walk. I would recommend to anyone staying in izmir to stay in this hotel it's one of the best I've stayed at so far in Turkey. I look forward to visiting again and staying at hotel 86. If I was being really fussy maybe adding more options to breakfast like sweet pastries and more fruits as im a fussy eater and don't really like turkish style breakfast so I didn't end up going for breakfast after the first time I went to see what it was

It was very centric, located right next to the Izmir bazaar and right next to Izmir bridal stores, very convenient if you are looking for a wedding or party dress The metro station was next to the hotel entrance and you can find in the area many restaurants. The clock tower of Izmir is only 10 minutes walking distance. The staff was very supportive, although we had a bit of language barrier

As the mosque was in the bazaar and there was a hill, the calls for prayer sounded a bit louder due to the echo, especially early in the morning. Nevertheless, it was not a big issue.

The bed was comfortable, and the room and facilities were clean. There was a wide selection of items for breakfast, and they even served soup in the evenings. Our bed was always made up. Great view from the restaurant on the top floor. Helpful staff. Valet parking. Lots of quality shops on that street and a cheaper street market around the corner.

Hotel 86 is on a busy thoroughfare in the center of the city. We had a street-facing room. As a result, it was very noisy. You couldn't really have the balcony door open if you wanted to sleep. Also, the heating/cooling is controlled centrally. You can not adjust the room temperature in your room, but you can shut it off.

The rooms were very clean! The cleaning staff did an exceptional job for my two week stay, I always felt very comfortable. The breakfast was great, I would have liked some more vegan options for sure, as a lot of the food was cheese, meat or egg. But it was still very enjoyable and I could always take some fruit or little halva bars for snacks during the day. The free soup in the evening (22:00) was almost always vegan, so that was a nice bonus. The staff speaks good English and they quickly responded to any request I had.

The bathrooms are unfortunatly not well vented, so it smelled a bit damp. Also, whenever there was someone in the smoking room next to me, the smoke smell would somehow come over to my room. It wasn't the worst, but as a non-smoker I noticed that all my clothes smelled slightly of smoke when I returned home.

Very comfortable stay in a convenient location. The room was very clean and more spacious than other Turkish hotels I've stayed in. Staff were all friendly and kind and the breakfast was nice, although a bit pricey at about 15 Euros.

The air conditioning in our room was not very strong, so we were quite hot overnight. Additionally, although they say there is free parking, it is not on site - it's about a 15 minute walk away.

The hotel was in a convenient area with lots of historical landmarks and shops around. The staff accommodated a request to check in early which we appreciated. Breakfast was ok but the view was really good.

The road can be a bit busy and loud so earplugs are recommended. AC is central and off in winter which can make the room a bit too hot as it's exposed to the sun most of the day.

I was there for paperwork & shopping so the location was my favourite. The staff make this place even better, very accommodating & helpful. They held on to our bags on last day run around & called us taksi whenever we needed one. As it was my partners first time around the area, we choose to eat out for lunch & breakfast so cannot comment on restaurant but we got breakfast as room service and it was more than enough topped up with fruits.

Grateful they had one but the balcony was small and high

I recently stayed at Hotel 86 By Katipoğlu and had a good experience. The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Izmir, close to several noted attractions such as Izmir Clock Tower, Cumhuriyet Square, and Ataturk Museum 1. The staff were super friendly and helpful 2. The room was laid out very well, modern, and had good lighting 2. The bed was comfortable and there was a place for two suitcases 2. The hotel also has a restaurant serving international cuisine with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available 1. The buffet breakfast was delicious 2.

This property is in a very good location. Very close to buses, taxis, the ferry was a short walk about 10 mins and the metro is right outside the hotel door as well as bus stops. The Bazaar is right across the street and lots of food around. The house keeping changed my sheets daily and cleaned my room very well. I was very pleased with the service! Very nice for the price.

Not much to complain about. It honestly exceeded my expectations and I was very happy! If I needed to be picky, I would say I wish each room had it's own iron, but they brought one when I needed it. I wish there was a pool.

very well located across from old town and fashionable neighborhood of Izmir. clean and safe location. room was comfortable with great view. clean and well maintained. staff extremely helpful. located and retrieved my lost passport left behind in the airport cab. Also helped with the retrieval of my bag lost by the airline.
