Lovley spacious room with a very comfortable bed and clean and spacious ensuite

It could just be my room, but the WIFI was terrible and only worked in the corridor. The curtains did not cover the window fully as the hanging rod was too short and It was difficult to keep the window open without a prop

Love the location and available parking

Lots of stairs and all rooms are above ground floor. No lift but staff helped carry luggage I’ve flights. Could do with side lamp as only option was full ceiling lights.

Friendly staff and a great location. Private parking on site in an area where parking is at a premium. They are clearly currently updating the hotel, which is a fantastic historic building, and I am sure the final results will be stunning. Good wifi, and a comfortable bed. A place full of character. It isn't your average chain hotel - so expect a few oddities - but offers fantastic value for money in a top location.

The refurbishment is clearly a work in progress, and there are a few places looking a bit tired. However, the owners are clearly being true to the historic building, so don't expect chain-store furniture or off-the-peg decor. It's old, it's quirky, and all the better for it. I look forward to seeing the finished results.

The reception was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The location of the hotel was excellent. The bed was comfortable. The hotel has "old world" charm and character and is the opposite of a "chain" which we love.

The furniture is a little dated, and the carpets in the communal areas need updating. The decoration could do with an update too, but the rooms are okay. The shower was a little small for a big guy like me, but for the price I wasn't expecting the Savoy or the Ritz so "be reasonable" people! Parking is free IF you get there early enough but public car parks are only a two minute walk away and are free overnight from 7pm until 8am. Some on street parking is also available for shorter time.frames. There doesn't seem to be a lift in the hotel so not great for the elderly or disabled.

Rooms were fine, old fashioned but a lot of character, some need a bit of work, rough around edges but expected for price especially in Battle Village. Both rooms I’ve stayed in seemed very clean. Receptionist is brilliant, really helpful good advice. Overall great affordable stay in a lovely village, if you want something more prestige you have to pay for it. For the money it’s great. Parking can be frustrating as it’s included but very limited especially busy time periods I tried multiple times one night I stayed and had no look so used the car park round the corner and paid for a couple hours in morning, it’s free for evening but from 8am have to pay. Overall good value.

Parking is frustrating maybe a reservation list might work, as I don’t know how many spaces are just the hotels, frustrating as one of the benefits to this hotel. I ended up having to move car twice and leave room 3 times to check spaces.

Single rooms, clean and non smoking, showers were good, kettle and tea and coffe supplied. To me for the price I was happy with the room. It was a struggle up to third floor taking bags but felt it was good exercise and only for one night. I think the details did mention about disabled access because there is no lift. After all it is an old building and probably under strict planning laws and not a five star establishment

It would be nice to have a light near bed or switch for room near bed. As an older person often needs to use bathroom in the night it’s difficult in the dark with the light switch the other side of room. Also to have a chair to sit on . My room had one but my friend did not and had same problem with light near bed and also she had no bedside table/drawers to put a book on or phone near the bed. Although the en suite was clean mine had nowhere other than floor to put toiletries bag on. As it was one night to me it was not a problem but staying more nights would prove a nuisance.

The hotel was excellent value. The room was clean and comfortable, check-in easy and the location in the middle of town. There was free parking in the courtyard at the rear.

Nothing. It exceeded all expectations and was excellent value for money.

Everything was lovely . The room was quiet with a lovely view but the cold tap didn’t work properly in the wash basin and the window didn’t stay up and no remote for the TV but I didn’t really watch it . But it was a nice little room , the staff were friendly and helpful and it was good value . The option of breakfast would’ve been nice but the supper I had there the night I arrived was lovely .

Nothing really . I’ve written the things that didn’t work properly in the box above and that was it really, the room was nice and the hotel is well situated in the middle of Battle .

There are not many more historic locations than the site of the Battle of Hastings, so this was right in the centre of this lovely little town. Admittedly, I visited during the week but the price was amazing - well within most pensioners available funds. Staff were really nice, car park at rear was free, it was a really nice property. You could have a more modern property, or one with more modern feel, but you will be hard pressed, in any town, to find better value.

The room was beautiful and clean. We was situated at the front over looking the main road and shops which was busy and very noisy when that window was open. The staircase was stunning and the staff very polite.

Only 1 thing let this experience down and that was the tea and coffee top up. I stayed in a family room were you was given 6 Coffee 4 Tea and 12 Sugar and 5 milk pots on the first day we brought a pint of milk by 7am the next morning when we woke we was out of Tea, coffee and Sugar, we was unable to have this replenished until 8.15am as that's when reception start.
