The whole territory of the hotel is beautiful: garden with hammocks, pool. Beach club is nice, clean, with good food and drinks. Welcome drink is a nice extra. Staff of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. Drinking water at free disposal is another nice extra. Closeness to the beach is good, to the city center one can walk by the sea or get taxi for 200 pesos. Walking on the streets is impossible due to gigantic puddles (it was not the rainy season!)

The apartment we got was very dark as bedroom part had no windows, whereas the apartment on the pictures shown during booking is luminous with two windows in the bedroom. That was confusing and disappointing, as after reading reviews we specifically were putting attention to the light in the room (people complaining were stating that it was dark). After our complaint for the last day however we got upgraded for the Master Suite, which was beautiful, spacious, and highly recommendable. Eggs at extra charge is also not what one would expect from 4-star hotel. The rest of the breakfast is good, but all sweet. Internet was not working almost anywhere.

Friendly staff - Host/owner, receptionists and breakfast lady always welcoming and super helpful with any requests we had. Room - spacious and very clean. Location - close to the beach and a 20 min walk into the centre, which although slightly long, made for a nice walk along the beach in the evenings. Breakfast - 3 simple options but really enjoyable and you can get all 3 if you’re hungry! Free drinking water - a small addition but one we really appreciated! Pool area - decent size main pool and a rooftop pool option.

Room - we were in room 10, which was underneath one of the communal rooftops. As there were plenty of communal spaces, this wasn’t used often but the sounds of the chairs moving in the wind/by people could be heard quite loudly in our room. A simple fix for this could be to place rubber covers on the chair/table legs.

The hotel is simply stunning – it truly took our breath away. It has a beautiful, exotic beach vibe that immediately puts you in vacation mode. The staff were exceptionally friendly, with special thanks to Hanna at the reception. She was incredibly kind and helpful, making our stay even more memorable. The rest of the team was also fantastic, always making us feel welcome and special. The hotel has two pools, both set in gorgeous surroundings, and the views from the terraces are absolutely spectacular. Our room was beautiful and spotless, cleaned daily, and the small kitchenette was a great bonus for our stay. The location of the hotel is excellent – peaceful yet conveniently close to the town center and the harbor. The staff were always happy to help arrange transportation or book local activities. Additionally, the beach club is just a few steps away, which made it very easy to enjoy the seaside.

While the breakfast was always fresh and delicious, the selection remained the same every day (pancakes, fruit, yogurt, and toast). For shorter stays, this is fine, but for longer visits, it can feel repetitive. The hotel would also benefit from having a bar or at least a small selection of snacks and drinks available at the reception, like beer, coffee, or light refreshments. We stayed during a windy period, which brought some challenges. Our room had a wall made of wood with small gaps, and the windows had similar gaps, so there was a constant draft. This made the room a bit chilly during the cooler evenings. Additionally, the wind caused the windows and doors to bang frequently, which was somewhat disruptive. However, I believe this wouldn’t be an issue in calm or sunny weather.

The location was great to us, far from the center, very quiet and chill vibes. No TV no music at all, so good for just relaxation (if you want something else, look somewhere else). All the staff was kind and warm, Hanna helped us a lot in the front desk and we had great conversations with her, thank you! The beach club is AMAZING!! Great food and cocktails, reasonable prices, great service. We god great room a lot of privacy. Can not recommend enough.

During our stay there were constructions next to the beach club, it happens all around the island and not the hotel fault or responsibility, the constructions shut down by the government so we had 2 days on the beach, there are other beaches around so don't worry about that, just be aware it can happen.

First of all: this is the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. Everything was just perfect; the view from the room, the look of the hotel, the employees, the whole vibe! We had room 12 and this was just really a winner. My biggest compliments really go to the staff (I don't know their names, but it's a girl from Ukraine and a boy with a Barcelona shirt), they were super friendly, always cheerful, very willing to help and their English was spot on. For example, they researched things for us about different tours, we received a lot of tips about restaurants and fun activities on the island and we could just chat with them. The distance to the center is also easy to do; 12 minutes walk. Further pluses were the air conditioning that cools well and is easy to set, the soft beds, the breakfast that was fine and the fridge that cools really well. Furthermore, the bed was changed every day and the towels changed if necessary. In addition, the swimming pool is ideal for relaxing and there is a beach club (Carolinda) at the end of the street where you can use free beds (because of staying at the hotel) and receive a 15% discount on food and drinks (which really good quality and that in combination with the good service of the enthusiastic employees). Points for improvement are the WiFi range and the shower could be a bit more modern (but the way it is now really fits with the rest of the hotel). Now I almost forget to say that our request to come and leave a day later was granted without any problems. We had a delay with our flight and therefore could not catch the boat in time to get to the island, so we would miss the first night. So the hotel moved the first night to the next day at our request and in the end we were able to stay there for 3 days as planned. According to us, the rating for this stay is a 10 (unfortunately you can't go higher).

Nothing, it was perfect

The quiet location away from the village but close to the beach. Loved the hotel‘s beach club! All the staff was super-friendly, we could also book a whale shark tour through them. The hotel is so cute and exotic, just loved the style. A lot of people wrote that they found the rooms too dark - I disagree. Our apartment #6 with king bed and kitchen had a lot of windows and lamps. And the walk to the village along the beach is easily done in 15-20 minutes, even in the dark. Would defenitely stay here again!

Our kitchen didn’t have a fridge or a coffee machine - the only gadgets we‘d have really liked. And the wifi is not very stable.

This is a beautiful property, with a fabulous pool and outside area. We had a family room which was spacious with a good en-suite and powerful shower. We also had seating and a hammock on the verandah outside our room but we didn’t tend to use them as this sheltered spot seemed to be where the mossies gathered. There were other places to relax in the hotel grounds so this didn’t bother us. The children enjoyed seeing the turtles and iguanas. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful, coffee, juice, pancakes, toast and fresh fruit, granola and yoghurt, all served in a delightful area of the garden by very friendly staff. The beach club was great, very relaxed vibe with loungers, and seating areas both in and out of shade and the beach and sea was very clean. An easy walk along the beach to town - 20 mins approx. This was our favourite spot on our Mexican road trip, a little piece of heaven.

A little more storage for clothes would have been great but the room was so big it didn’t really bother us.

we stayed on 3d floor large room with a lot of windows. The room was full of air and beautiful views for sun rise and vegetations. Room was cleaned daily. Small size pool with a few people there, and plenty sun beds, palm trees and shade. Staff was nice and helpful. Beach was only 3-4 mins walking distance from hotel. Easy, nice, and safe walk even at night to Holbox center. It is about 15 mins along the beach (no needs to take taxi, except to ferry)

i did not like Carolinda beach club that we can use while staying in Ensueño Holbox hotel. Annoying music was all day long above our head. We did not stay there once. We used La Puerto Azul beach bar area: free sun beds to use for anybody with purchase of drinks or food there (food and drink, included coffee, were good there)

A nice clean hotel in the quiet end of Holbox. We were really happy with the beach club and the pool area. The complimentary drinks in the beach club were super good. The breakfast was also fine for our needs although it is not a buffet. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to town and we would recommend that you take the beach there because the streets are muddy and quite dirty. Also remember to bring a small supply of water and food as there are no shops around. The staff in the hotel is really nice, friendly and laidback.

The internet is not super stable but it works.

In a beautiful surrounding outside from the center close and linked to a very nice clean beach club we enjoyed our time a lot. Great pool, palms everywhere, amazing rooftop. The people working for Ensueño and Carolinda Beach Club are amazing people. The service was outstanding. We would like to point out Emilio. He helped us in the late evening taking our son to the hospital with his own buggy immediately. He got a cut on the backside of his head after falling down the bed. Thank you very much Emilio. But also the other men and women taking care of this place.

A little bis more equipment in the kitchen to be ready to cook for a family of five would be great. But by asking for some things we got everything we needed. And please put the eggs to the regular breakfast setup. 😉 A hotel like Ensueño should serve them without an extra cost.
