Paolo and his staff did a wonderful job of greeting us, helping us park our car, arranging for a transport for our luggage, and then walking us down to the apartment. We enjoyed the introduction to Riomaggiore and information that Paolo shared as we walked. The apartment was right at the harbor overlooking the water and was very convenient to the train and restaurants next door. It was fun opening the shutters in the early morning and waving good day to the locals. We also got to watch our teenage son cliff jump from across the water, which made this location quite thrilling as well!
Riomaggiore is a very steep and hilly village so you have to be ready to "work your legs" and not be afraid to hike and climb. But that's all part of the experience in the Cinque Terre!

It’s location on the harbor was ideal. We ate at the Next door restaurant recommended by Michael that was excellent. Michael met us at the train station which was ideal as it would’ve been difficult to find the apartment without his help.
I had booked a two bedroom apartment for two people. I later added a third person who I thought was added to the original reservation. However, the staff booked an extra room without me understanding that they did so. It all worked out in the end because the third person didn’t mind paying for the extra room. Include instructions on how to operate the coffee machine . The locks to one of the buildings is incredibly hard to open, which is a problem late at night.

The view of the rooms (there was a downstairs and upstairs) was wonderful. You are looking at the harbor and the views are out of a novel. The location is perfect to see the ocean and see from the patio all activity in the little harbor. The staff was wonderful. They kept in contact before arriving to ensure we knew where to go and they took us to the room and sat down to explain everything to know about restaurants, how to visit the other cinque terre cities, and what to do. Very dedicated staff. Also the cleaning crew made sure everything you needed was available.
If you are older or have difficulty with balance, this is not the place for you. There are a lot of stairs to get to the room and the last stairs are narrow and do not have a railing/banister. Also the bedroom had a ladder going to it which did not have a railing/banister either. I think it would be an easy fix to have add to the stairs to the front door some railing. Also the ladder to the bedroom could easily have a rope or something hanging on the wall and next to spanned from the ceiling to the floor above the ladder so it would be less "scary" to get up and down to the bedroom.

Absolutely Brilliant!! Could not recommend Scorci Di Mare highly enough..The location is the absolute best in Riomaggiore, right above the boatramp with lots of great restaurants & coffee spots with views to die for! 2 minute walk to the main shopping area/restaurants/ bars etc as well. Paolo & the team were also fantastic, so helpful & spent ages with us chatting about where to go & what to see with more of a local take rather than as a tourist. The room was gorgeous also, very beachy feel, super comfortable bed, coffee machine with pods supplied & assortment of different tea. Loved this place!!
Nothing! Everything was fantastic..

Sleeping in the most iconic location in Cinque Terre, the kindness of Michele and Paolo and their pride in being locals of Riomaggiore comes up every time they talk about the beauty of the land. They explained all the history and knows where you can eat amazing meals of drink good coffee. The location is unbelievable, it feels a dream and everything is clean. There are lots of stairs to be aware of but this is Cinque Terre.
I liked everything but is important to be aware of the steep stairs to rooms and reception, they offer a delivery service if you have large baggage but this is the way the entire city is developed. I would have loved an ambience lighting in the room like a table lamp next to the bed (but it’s personal)

The staff and the location. Paolo and his colleague went above and beyond, super friendly, welcoming and helpful, kind with travel logistics, exceptionally informative, and their input really shaped our group of friends getting the most from the trip. The location of our rooms was amazing. Wonderful harbour views. Very convenient to the train, the town and the walking paths. The rooms were very clean and beds comfy; a little more basic than some of the places we’ve been but it was perfect for what we needed. We liked the Vernazza harbour, Monterosso old town, and Manarola (incl Volastra) views the best. Riomaggiore was the perfect home base, with reduced 3 day Cinque Terre cards (paid 41eur for fri/sat/sun) by purchasing thru the sustainability accredited accom. We LOVED this holiday. A bit of something for everyone. You need to like steps!!! 😂
The super central location meant there was a bit of street noise at night. The stairs were epic!! Very steep in the pink block particularly (we had 2 rooms in the yellow and a triple room in the pink). We managed, but it was tricky with suitcases and defo not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Some of the grouting in the bathrooms needs replacing.

Incredible location! Right by the sea with waves outside the window. You truly feel like you’re in an old village in a time past. Our room was the perfect size for our needs. The added touch of cold water in the mini fridge was lovely. The owner and staff were excellent! They not only answered all my questions prior to our arrival, but immediately upon arrival gave us the chance to unwind and get into vacation mode by not being all about business but a more relaxed atmosphere.
It can get a little noisy late at night around 1am as people are partying and having a good time, but would still consider this to be the Best location. One of the bathrooms needed some extra care in shower area. But everything else was lovely.

The proprietor Paolo was extremely responsive--really could not have asked for a better host. He also had great recommendations for how to see Cinque Terre, where to eat, etc. We stayed in a room with a Terrace and a Sea View. The view is primarily of the buildings across the way. Very colorful and picturesque. The Terrace is AMAZING. It was on the top floor of our suite. We had many lovely meals there. No sunset views though--the window opens to the east I think I had no idea we could swim in the sea, silly me. Bring a swimsuit if that is your thing! And if hiking is your thing, bring appropriate hiking shoes! (See below).
Just two things to be aware of: 1. There are many stairs, and the hill going to and from is steep. Do not bring tons of bags. 2. When they say to hike the lesser trodden paths (not the coast paths), they really mean a hike! I was completely unprepared for how challenging this was going to be. Was dressed inappropriately and wore the wrong shoes. If you want to hike just be prepared for that knowledge. Hike was NOT easy. But the views were rewarding.

What an absolute pleasure! We loved our time at Scorci Di Mare. It’s in a perfect location, just a short walk to the marina and sea. Also, very close to the train station with not too many stairs! Which was an absolute bonus! When staying in places like this you expect to be climbing lots of stairs with your luggage. We let them know our arrival time and were greeted at the station and guided to where the accomodation was. We were then sat down and explained all about cinque Terre, given some recommendations and guidance on what to see in every town which was so helpful! The room was massive, beautiful old ceilings, great aircon and all the ammenities you would need. Great value for money for the location we were in and will definitely be recommending this to others!

Highly recommend staying in the La Terrazza apartment (the Booking.com description is Double Balcony Room with Seaview). Located right in the heart of the bustling harbour with charming views from the terraces (there are 2!), up above the crowds. Well equipped kitchen on the first floor; cookies, coffee, a bottled juice and bottle water are also supplied. We had no issues with the many stairs everywhere in CT including the one in the apartment but do exercise some caution going up and down, they are a little steep. And would also recommend getting the CT trekking or treno passes by visiting Paolo at the office to buy them for discounted prices as guests of Scorci di Mare. Grazie mille to Paolo and his team!
No complaints, we would be happy to stay again should we come back to Riomaggiore!
