The old Inn had plenty of character, located on the river with outside seating for a beer on a sunny day. Good restaurant meals at night.

We had a twin room,2 single beds with only one foot between them, it was very small and hot. No real air flow to cool it down at night although a fan is supplied which does help but is a noise you need to block out when trying to sleep. The bathroom was TINY but the shower worked well. Room number 5 . Breakfast could be better organised , we had to ask for hot water for tea and bowls for cereal. We stayed 2 nights. We feel we didn’t get value for money. Our friends had a larger room, number 3 , with double bed and bigger bathroom, we both paid the same amount.

Beautiful location: a charming pub in the gorgeous village of Holywell; good dinner and breakfast; clean and warm room and friendly and helpful staff. I enjoyed my stay and will no doubt come back in the near future.

I was surprised about the noisy aircon/heating. I thought it was just in my room but the noise seemed to continue in the breakfast room the next day. Perhaps there was something wrong with the system during the time I was there?

Really friendly and helpful staff. Julie, the Big Boss, was very warm and welcoming. The single room was warm and comfortable. The food was exquisite, the staff helped with my selection and got it spot on! I will be going back, probably Easter week for their Bring and Buy in aid of the local primary school. (Contact Ben for the date).,

The weekend wasn't long enough!

A characterful old Inn in a lovely location next to the river. The staff were superbly helpful, finding a safe space to store our bike indoors and helping us with our bags. The accommodation is away from the bar and restaurant. On site food is excellent, with a good choice for veggies. Breakfast options are also very good.

Understandably for an old building, sound insulation in the room was a bit poor, but only from the other rooms in the accommodation - not from the bars.

The location was great - beside the river was really tranquil but also only ten mintes by car from St Ives. Best of both worlds. All the staff were friendly and helpful - with a well cooked breakfast with decent ingredients both days. Our room was clean and there was plenty of hot water. The thatched roof full-of-history feel was very cool and apart from taller people needing to mind your head, created a good atmosphere inside and lots of room outdoors for kids/children and fresh air folk. The staff were refreshingly polite and took inclusivity to heart, clearly making all their guests feel equally welcome - and it is a pet friendly accommodation :) Although we were there for work, the Inn's location made it attractive for walkers and of course river boats. Tasty evening meals were still available at 9.30 and ours were satisfyingly sized.

Not at all their fault, but somehow the postcode when picked up by SatNav takes you to the wrong side of the Inn and its Parking - not sure how this can be sorted, it seemed to be a very common problem.

Nice riverside location, but difficult to find, needs a signpost! Excellent food and drink, friendly helpful staff, nice and quiet at night. Bed was comfy, plenty of hot water, and room facilities were OK, tea making, iron, hair dryer and fan all supplied. Flies seem to be an issue in the area, so the window screens are a nice touch meaning the windows can be left open without flies getting into the room.

The room was OK, but could have done with a good run over with a hoover, the amount of dust on the floor was surprising, especially where the mains plugs are and behind the cupboard next to the bed. There is also a problem with spiders and dead flies in the windows, but they just need a hoover and run over with a cleaning cloth.

Friendly and welcoming staff Historic building with lots of class a quirks. Loads of parking Small but very clean and warm rooms. Food a little mixed but excellent and well cooked choices for the vegetarians. One lamb dinner felt reheated but steak and chips excellent. Good breakfast choice and quality.

Nothing to dislike.

Nice evening meal with hood variety

Breakfast not available until 8am. I had to o be at work for 7:30. Shame as the inn missed out on revenue! It is g to he reason they did not earn a 10. Beautiful surroundings and pleasant stay ruined by the lack of breakfast facilities! Old ferry boat inn is falling short on its service to customers

Restaurant Excellent evening meal at fair price. Good selection of dishes. Continentsl breakfast very good.

1) Loud hum from kitchen extractor fans, very noticable in room . Noise stopped about 10pm when kitchen closed and all became peaceful. 2) One pillow was too low - two pilloss too high. Needed an intermediate thicknesss pillow.
