Great location for one night stay because of its proximity to the highway, but keep in mind you will hear it as well. No polyester bedding so you can sleep relatively well despite the hard noisy mattresses. Vintage interiors give the place a special atmosphere. Great staff at the desk, very helpful and speaks English very well. Beautiful views and close proximity to hiking and biking trails in the forest.

Very hard and noisy mattress. No forks anywhere to be found at the breakfast tables to eat with. The vintage furnishings of the hotel have seen better days a long time ago so you could expect a lower price point for your stay. The hotel restaurant is closed. No kettle, coffee machine or fridge in the room or in a common space.

Excellent location offering panoramic views of Innsbruck. Every morning we enjoyed breakfast admiring the beauty of the snow clad mountains. Breakfast was also super yummy. There are excellent hiking trails nearby. The hotel provided us with complimentary passes for the public transport buses which was really nice. The busstop was 2 minutes walking from the hotel. Extremely calm and peaceful. Classical wooden furniture in the room which added to the charm of the place. Highly recommend this place.

View is incredible. Hostess is very professional, gave us our innsbruck cards and allowed us to leave our bags and come back later to check-in. They were busy so early check in was not possible. The location is picturesque. The hostess allowed us to return after check-out to leave our bags, we could not get a locker anywhere. The hostess allowed us to use the kettle. We lovde innsbruck. Staying here will assure you a snowy town experience in the mountains.

Noteworthy that the 560 bus only runs every hour to fetch and drop at the stop close to the hotel.

Barenwirth has a very comfortable feel about it from the moment you enter, you are greeted with a smile and friendly welcome and that continues for the entire stay. The family/staff make you welcome and have the great ability to be there without dominating the space, the services they offer are excellent along with their willingness to help as much as they are able with their local knowledge and helpful hints. Being slightly out of town and elevated Barenwirth has stunning views The facilities are of a very high standard, comfortable beds, good sized rooms, excellent breakfasts and a welcoming bar. Difficulties finding a chef mean the kitchen doesn't operate for lunch and dinner, fortunately there are a number of restaurants within walking distance serving great food. If/when we return to Innsbruck area we will stay again and can highly recommend Barenwirth to all travellers, winter for skiing, summer for cycling, tramping, walking or just relaxing.

Nothing to dislike

The hotel is in a beautiful location just outside Innsbruck. The small town is the perfect place to escape for a few days and just relax. The room was a good size and extremely good value for money. When I arrived the staff offered me a very warm, family feel welcome. While the restaurant was closed on the day I arrived, they recommended a lovely café down the road where I enjoyed a lovely dinner. The main attraction for Bärenwirth when booking was the price. However, after a lovely stay it is definitely somewhere I will look to visit again in the future.

The property looked like a historic building, immerse in mountain views. Room was probably not new, but it was extremely comfortable and well equipped. We got to the hotel at a late hour, so we did not take advantage of the dining services, but breakfast was excellent. Pity we didn’t stay longer!

If I need to find something I didn’t quite like, maybe parking spaces are a little scarce. However, given the location of this particular hotel, I would not have expected more spaces. I’d give 8/10 to this particular aspect, nevertheless.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, and spoke fluent English (and Italian). As a family-run hotel it felt far more homely and welcoming than your usual hotel. Plus the food and wine was excellent, and the views from the hotel were stunning! The bus stop into Innsbruck was directly outside and there are many walking routes (including up Patscherkofel) that start right outside the hotel. Excellent location for exploring a little further outside the city of Innsbruck, but with the benefit of a bus into the city every half hour.

Just be warned that the church bells at Patsch chime every morning at 7am...

Vert good location. I went there for my hikes and this one was perfect for that purpose. The breakfast was super. And the best part was the family who owns the property. They were very friendly and attended to all the questions with a smile.

May be because I was travelling single, I got a room which didn't have a great view.

The old buildings, comfortable rooms and nig sized beds , hospitality of them providing drinking water , amazing breathtaking view from the room

The soap holder was chipped , the cost of the room was quite expensive for the facilities provided , the restaurant was closed and there were no restaurants near by

Beautiful view, tasty breakfast and extremely helpful staff. We were without a car, but it was easy to arrive to the city and to a lovely hike nearby (using the cablecar).

The bells of the church near the hotel ring often and loudly. It adds to the atmosphere but can be found disturbing by some people…
