April 2025

The room was very spacious, traveling on my own I take time to feel relaxed in a new room, but I definitely loved the big pillows and the might have been queen size bed (it definitely felt bigger than a double bed - the only option left was twin bed for 2 people they were kind enough to put the beds together per my request)! They had black out curtains so I had good sleep, the shower - toilet was spacious as well, everything felt luxurious! On the night I arrived in Gdansk, I walked from train station to the property, passing restaurants, parks, and churches - Gdansk was a sight to see. I spent my 1st day walking about and saw most of everything nearby by foot - the property was very near the city centre, cafes, landmarks, shops - a very convenient location! Public transport is fab in Gdansk and Dom Zachariasza Zappio is a few minutes walk to the tram station to get a train to Gdynia and Sopot (the tri-city), I spent my days in Gdansk well, a mix of walking and public transport, and well rested, if I needed to rest after an early morning, the room is nearby, and I just go back out to see more in the afternoon and it does not take me long to again be in the heart of the city! I got the room only service, but I got my hot chocolate request, they offer breakfast and meals too on the first floor. Thanks for my hot chocolate, the host was very lovely!

Nothing really, apart from the room size was overwhelming for one person 😂 Everything was lovely, the building was clean and tidy, everyone was friendly too.

Amazing Breakfast(vs expectations), really enjoyed it.

Forth flor, what was really scary is that there are no fire escape possibilities. There is one very very tight staircase (old building) for 5 flors with four rooms per floor (+_/_) that is 2 people per room, 40 people in a very narrow staircase, if there is smoke etc. There should de a fire escape on the outside of the building, garden side. Fire trucks with ladders cant reach the back, there are no others building with lower roofs, there is no wat to go. I think they know, because every flor has multiple fire extinguishers. Good but that is nog gone help if the fire is on another flor or to big. The staff is gone at night. I loved the hotel, but not staying again if there is no ladder on the outside of the building like in NY. for example.

Extremely comfortable and cosy bed, well insulated and radiator able to be adjusted. Nice wooden interior that smelled lovely. Great location.

There was a beer festival hosted by the property directly beneath our window. We weren’t told this when checking in and might have asked to go somewhere else otherwise. It went on until 00:20 our first night, and then past 01:00 the next. After we’d checked in and left for the day, we came back to a note on our bed about the festival along with some earplugs. It was 23:20 when we came back ready to sleep, but weren’t able to due to the noise.

Great location very near the city centre. Very peaceful and quiet. Everything was ready at the room from towels to bedsheets, and there were plenty of shampoos and shower gels available at the bathroom.

I would give it a full 8 but as others have pointed out, the showers are quite clunky. There is one button that has to be pushed regularly in order to get water, and there isn't a shower head to detach. The shower's water also was not the warmest, and would sometimes fluctuate between warm and cold. Also, the hostel doesn't have an elevator, so having to climb four floors to get to your room can be too much for some.

The location is brilliant. Right in the heart of city . Well connected with public transport from airport as well as train station. Station is only 15 mins walk away . Rooms were comfortable. Building is an old building from 19th or 20th century but renovated to utmost perfection. Gives a very vibe . They have a nice bar and breakfast option. The staff there are great. I even got a complementary room upgrade and was able to keep my luggage even after check out free of cost .

The morning employee is probably the most friendly person you'll meet in Gdansk! I really liked the building, room with comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Multiple lighting options in the room. Heating was already available. Location only some steps away from the main touristic walk paths, near Zabkas and bike renting station. Breakfast is well worth it, with a huge variety of prepared savoury and salty choices, and the eating area matches the classic wooden design of Gdansk.

It was a cute old building, and the staff was friendly and tried to help as soon as possible something was wrong. Good location as well.

The room smelled nicotine, and it took several hours before I got help with that. But they did help and also offered me another room the next day (fully booked the first) and a complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience. Good to know is that the rooms are quite cold in the winter.

Zappio manages to be extremely clean, without having lost its sense of character (building >400 years old). It is in a great location, near the water, main city and several beautiful churches. When I stayed on Sunday, it was extremely quiet at night. Staff were friendly and helpful, without being overbearing. All in all, a great place!

The shower in the early morning was a bit temperamental in getting warm/staying warm.

A charming place located right in the heart of Gdańsk’s old town. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The en-suite room was comfortable and clean, offering great value for money. Keep in mind that, as it's a historical building, the stairs can be quite steep. Overall, a fantastic option if you're looking for affordable accommodation in a central location.
