My priorities (in addition to safety, comfort, & affordability) when researching accommodations anywhere I travel include uniqueness & historical significance. I definitely picked a winner with Gotyk House! According to a Gdansk city guide, it's the oldest house in the city (built in 1451 C.E.) & was purportedly the only tenement house left unscathed by WW2. What a find! Located right next to St. Mary's Basilica - believed to be the largest brick church in the world - it's convenient walking distance to all Old Town sights, as well as nearby grocery stores & other necessities. My room (#3? or #4?) was a generous size with comfortable furnishings, historic decor, large bathroom, & restful space, especially when the surprisingly soothing (not clanging) church bells rang throughout the day. And the service was exceptional! (They even offer to wash & dry your laundry for a mere 60zl/$15USD which, by the end of a long trip throughout several countries, was a huge bonus!) Wiktoria, who checked me in, was so incredibly kind & helpful, especially when I mentioned that I'd accidently left my phone in a ride-share car in another city. She helped me spring into action to, hopefully, get it back. Without her assistance, persistence, & encouragement, I might have never seen my phone again. I also really enjoyed our numerous conversations, during which I learned a lot about the area, & appreciated all her amazing activity & restaurant recommendations. Gotyk House is now my go-to place to stay anytime I'm in the Tri-city region of Poland.

Can't think of anything. Everything was great!

The location is perfect. The attitude of the receptionists was excellent and they helped with the luggage to and from our second floor room (no lift). Breakfast in the attached Mexican style bar was fine - with individually paid items as opposed to a buffet choice. Had the granola with fruits and yog which was large and excellent. It was a great base for a very special visit to an enchanting old town.

Not the hotel's fault (more the Waze sat nav's) but finding it by car was a pain. There are limited entry points to the area closed off to cars without permits which the hotel provides. It might help for the hotel to offer a map with directions. Maybe that was just our bad luck. Finally it worked out very well with convenient confirmed parking.

The property is located in the heart of Gdańsk. We were in the historic part of the building, just two metres away from the 14th-century Mariacki Cathedral. It was an unforgettable experience to get in touch with history. The building's entrance is on Mariacka Street, which is lined with amber merchants during the day. The room is compact, but it is equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. This property is ideal for romantics and those who want to experience history and can appreciate real values.

The installation of lightproof curtains on the windows would be a beneficial addition, particularly for nocturnal hours.

Stunning Gothic-style architecture with beautifully themed rooms that perfectly match the building's historical character. The property successfully combines old-world charm with modern amenities - you'll find good WiFi, TV, AC, and a convenient electronic control system for lights. The Gothic interior design is particularly well-executed and creates an immersive atmosphere that makes the stay unique and memorable.

Limited hot water capacity - requires waiting for reheating when it runs out, ventilation issues in the stairway with persistent unpleasant odors, maintenance needed for broken window blinds, cobwebs present, no iron in the room(available upon request), and only a small waste bin available in bathroom with none in the main room.

Perfect location - could see the cathedral through the window from bed. Lovely decor, charming area overall. Everything you want to see in Gdansk is right there or just around the corner. Good value for money in terms of location and charm.

Water in shower was never really hot, only lukewarm at best. We decided against breakfast from the attached restaurant -, the Mexican theme didn’t really seem to go with the vibe in the area. But there is a charming cafe just around the corner, near the Neptune fountain, that was everything we wanted for a breakfast place.

The property is located right in the city centre and is—overall—incredibly impressive. The building is beautiful and the interior design is rather well thought out and provides a feeling of luxury. The restaurant that’s a part of the complex is fabulous, too, with a great selection of drinks. We also used the shuttle facilities and were very happy with it.

There wasn’t really anything I disliked, but—if I were to be picky—the property lacked a full length mirror, which could be fitted on the inside or even outside of the wardrobe doors.

Amazing! We arrived late so reception was closed but we received clear and easy to follow directions through text msg so we got in with no problem. Gorgeous building really makes an impression and it’s based on one of the oldest streets in Gdańsk really cool and it’s right next to the river- literally 2 min walk! so you not only based in the middle of gorgeous old town but also by the water and all restaurants and bars! Only 15 min walk to Train Station, only 15 min walk to 2nd World War Museum (worth seeing one of best museums I’ve been to) about 30 min away from the Beach (very clean, warm Baltic Sea fantastic), 3 min walk to nearest shop, only 30 min drive to the airport, I mean it just doesn’t get better then that! perfect location! We stayed in room number 2, really big and comfortable double bed, 1 bathroom with shower and toilet AND SECOND BATHROOM WITH BATH! Gorgeous deco with high finish you can tell that no expense was spared in the making absolutely fabulous! Lady at the reception was really friendly and helpful wish I asked her name to add to this review and say thank you again for everything! There isn’t anything bad I could say about this place it was perfect and really comfortable and we will definitely come back. Thank you Gotyk Team!

nothing it was perfect

The location was extremely central, with lots of attractions, shops, and restaurants within a short walking distance. The room was absolutely beautiful and had been immaculately cleaned. The staff member behind the reception desk was very kind, and he gave us a magnet in the shape of the hotel as a welcoming gift. The bed was very comfortable, and I liked that there were slippers and free bottled water available in the room. The checkout time was at noon, which was generous given how many hotels ask you to leave earlier. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, but the price that they offered was very reasonable.

The wifi signal was very weak (to the point of being unusable), and I can assume that this was because we stayed on the top floor (away from the router). The curtains on the window did not block out the sunlight, so we were awakened by the early sunrise. These issues weren't really a big deal considering the overall positive experience I had with the hotel.

We were on a car trip through Poland and we needed a place to park the car, which they had. I was a bit tricky to find out what we needed to do to get the permit, but the hotel staff was very helpful in guiding us through the process. We were really in the middle of the city and had a great time. They breakfast option is Mexican and if you are more into traditional sweet breakfast it might not work, but there a excellent pastry shop/cafes around.

More fresh bath towels. It was very hot and humid when we were there and we got caught in a down pour and I had to go and fetch fresh bath towels myself. Later I saw that there was a button one needed to push if you wanted room service, but we were not told about this.
