charm of old-fashioned hotels, super location and across the road the pedestrian zone starts and by car it is easy to get there, plus there is parking. not quite 5 stars, but excellent value for money! clean and if the windows overlook the inner courtyard on the upper floors it is very quiet! of the minuses narrow and dark parking for maneuvers - you need a red/green traffic light it is very inconvenient when you enter, and the incoming traffic is coming towards you... and the exit button - you can wait a long time until they see you...

A lovely hotel just 10 minutes walk in a straight line from the train station. The Alameda is a big hotel, with bus stops and taxis outside, but a very short walk to the main square and historic centre. The staff are delightful. Check in is 3.00pm but they will keep your bags. Breakfast is a lavish buffet. We also ate dinner there one night and the food was excellent, with friendly service. Our room was large with a sumptuous bathroom - double sinks, marble, mirrors and a glassed-off loo, which I prefer. There's a roof top bar but it was closed for the season. The most surprising thing for us was the cost - the room price was so reasonable compared with other Spanish cities, and Salamanca is a lovely university city. A must see for us was the Art Nouveau museum - it underplays itself. The collection of Chiparus sculptures and Galle glass is exceptional, and if you like dolls and fans... it really is a superb collection.

This hotel is wonderfully located... easy to walk everywhere and see Salamanca. It is an old world grand hotel with lovely furnishings and our bedroom was huge...a perfect place to stay.

The car park underneath hotel... very very narrow! We asked for ice to bring to our bedroom... the girl was about to give to us and the bar man nastily said no... we also asked for glasses... the barman stated we could have at a charge of 6 euro... we have travelled all over the world in bigger more exclusive hotels and we've never had to pay for ice and glasses Also no coffee machine in room.. and fridge plugged out. Also they advertise a swimming pool and I was told it was closed even though temperature high!

Location is great and fot those who travel on a motorcycle or car the parking inside the Hotel is just perfect. Had my motorcycle parked in a indoor park and safe. Staff was super friendly, there is a restaurant and breakfast available. Price for bought park and food very reasonable.

It is a great value for the money. The room is big and clean. The only thing I do not like is the mattress too soft and my back kind of complained the next morning, but it is all right.

Gorgeous hotel. Great staff, I accidentally double booked and they let me cancel without penalty. We stayed at 8 hotels during this trip and Alameda was the best and nearly the least expensive. Great sized room and bath, beds comfy, I think they had a kettle. Nice artworks. Much of the furnishing appeared to be exquisite antiques. 20 minute walk from train station. On the north edge of the old town. Many nearby restaurants, cafes and bakeries.

My only regret is that we could not stay another night at this hotel.

Location excellent. Garage for parking under hotel-park at front door, tell the receptionist you’re here & a porter will drive your car into the garage & carry your luggage up to your room. All you need to do is check in! Excellent service. Few minutes walk to city centre. Excellent views from room & rooftop.

Our only complaint was there wasn’t an opening window in our room & so was only able to use air con for fresh air. I prefer to open a window.

The hotel is perfectly located, just across from some popular shopping streets, about a 5 minute walk from the Plaza Mayor. It is an old style hotel that certainly retains its elegance. The staff, the foyer, the rooms all look the part. The rooms were large, clean, stylish and well equipped. When I booked the hotel, I thought that, given the price, there must be a catch. If there is, I missed it. This hotel is one of the best value for money bookings I have come across. When I return to Salamanca, this is the first hotel I will look for.

The only negative was the roof pool terrace being closed during the day (it opens at 8pm for dinner). It would have been a nice option to sit out there with a coffee reading a book or admiring the view.

Large, well appointed room & bathroom with large, comfortable beds. Very helpful staff and an in house parking garage, 16€. There is an off street area in front of the hotel to unload and the elevators go from the floors to the garage, which is handy. Good buffet breakfast 12€ and decent restaurant for those cold, rainy nights when you want to stay in.

There was nothing we didn't like. We wish we could take this hotel with us to each city we are visiting. If you are a light sleeper, ask for an interior room as the street is busy and with the window open, was noisy in the morning.

The location was excellent, the room was always cleaned, and customer service was great. Also, the public areas were clean.

The view from the window was the courtyard of some apartments. It is noticeable in the details that the room is neglected. I honestly expected a slightly more luxurious room for a 5 star hotel, and the price was high.

This hotel is the definition of old-school "European" luxury. It's dated, but so meticulously cared for that it works! The location was fantastic. Just on the edge of the more touristy part of the city, it is easy to drive to, and just across the road you enter the pedestrian promenades, lined with excellent shopping, which lead directly into the Plaza Mayor! For the price Hotel Alameda exceeded all our expectations, and we would happily stay there again!

Twin-beds pushed together instead of a double or queen. The mattresses were not particularly comfortable, but were not horrible.
