Location is just right by entrance to old quarter. Price includes good dinner and next day ok buffet breakfast. It's a hotel so things in room is really a hotel, not a backpacker thing. Such a treat. Staffs are all nice, in reception and restaurant too.

It's located very close to Narita Station, it's worth to stay there for few nights especially when You want to be close to Narita Airport

Great value with half board. The hotel is a budget hotel aimed at Japanese workers so don't expect any English language or signage. Use Google translate. The restaurant was mainly staffed by Japanese grannies which is charming. At the time of writing there is a rice shortage so being good traditional grannies they watch the portion sizes and don't like wastage. If you are ok with traditional values and don't arrive with fancy tourist expectations you will be fine. This is Japan so you can expect politeness and helpfulness, but don't be a tourist.

I stayed there for 1 night, the location of the hotel is not far from the train station and Kurashiki Bikan, allowing me to spend plenty of time taking cityscape photos, the price of the room included dinner and breakfast. the hotel was a little bit old but still functional and the room was clean.

I understand that there is a shortage of labor problem in Japan, hence we the guest have to take shower kits from the lobby themself, but there isn't a shower cap in the shower kits.

Location and price were excellent when booked well in advance. The breakfast/dinner included in the price was a great bonus and left me satisfied.

The WiFi was not accessible from my room at the end of the hall. The smoking room stunk to high heaven and the stench remained in my clothes long afterwards (maybe I didn't specify non-smoking during booking?) --- I've learnt my lesson.

Room stank like high heaven when I entered. It clearly hadn't been aired out from the previous guest - opening the window sorted this. Stains on roof of the room and walls. This hotel could be so much better if rooms had new paper, carpet and lampshades. Ok for a few nights.

I stayed at Kurashiki Ekimae Universal Hotel for two nights and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the location is excellent—very convenient for anyone wanting easy access to the train station and local attractions. However, there were a few areas where improvements could be made. The shower curtain in my room had noticeable mould, detracting from the bathroom's cleanliness. This issue brought down my overall comfort during the stay. Additionally, while the hotel offers decent value, I felt it could have been better for the price, hence my slightly lower rating for value for money.

The cleanliness of the bathroom, particularly the mould on the shower curtain, was disappointing and affected my overall comfort.
