The food in the restaurant was very nice; we also enjoyed the breakfast. The decor of the hotel was beautiful, and our rooms were spotlessly clean. The staff were very attentive.

One of our rooms was room 101 and we found that room very warm. There was a fan in the living area which was appreciated but it could have benefitted from an air con unit of some kind. But we understood it was because it was a south facing room in a very old building.

The location of the hotel was spot on for us as on our way back to Devon. Hotel has recently been refurbished so everything was new. Rooms were lovely and clean. Bed was comfortable. We eat in the restaurant in the evening and food was good. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Great team. Shout out to Leahih in the restaurant.

Breakfast was a disaster. We turned up at 9.15 for breakfast and there was no food left in the continental breakfast choice. The tables all had plates etc left from previous diners. It was a bit of a mess. Final got some Fruit but no pasties as we were told they had all gone. Ordered cooked breakfast but waited over half an hour and had to leave before we could eat it. Manager dealt with the problem and we had a refund for breakfast. Saying all this we would stay again as a lovely hotel. I think just a glitch as only opened for 6 weeks.

The team were super friendly and really accommodating - they agreed a late check out for us, which we really appreciated and meant we weren't in a rush. The room was nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Amesbury, so there's plenty of shops and places to eat nearby. Our room was only slightly more expensive than rooms available at the nearby Travelodge, and felt far more luxurious, so it was definitely worth it. We had breakfast for one of the mornings of our stay and very much enjoyed it.

The bathroom unfortunately had a lingering smell of drains, which wasn't very pleasant. Our pillows were a bit harder than our preference, which hindered our sleep, but otherwise, everything was great.

The building itself is beautiful and historic, which gives the place a unique charm—though perhaps not ideally suited to hot weather. The bathroom, although small, is comfortable and features modern fixtures. There were also some complimentary treats in the room, such as bottled water and biscuits, which added a nice touch.

As you make your way to Room 208, the hotel gets noticeably warmer and more airless with each step. After passing through corridor after corridor and climbing steep, narrow staircases, you finally reach the room—grasping door handles that are not just neutral, but actively warm to the touch. The room itself feels like the oven of the hotel, with stifling heat and no real ventilation. They do provide a fan, but its effect is just enough to keep you alive—nothing more.

Paid for a deluxe room, was not disappointed! Quirky, luxurious, contemporary, grand! Good food and service. Location good for onward travel/ exploring. Stayed to visit Stonehenge, only downside was the vibe in Amesbury. It is quite a small, quiet village, we would have preferred something a bit livelier.

The bathroom was a little on the small side. A wider choice of room tea/ coffee would have been nice. At the time we visited there was a feeling the place was short staffed and several complaints from non residents about lack of table availability for food spoilt the ambience.

It's so much improved since our last visit in 2017. A complete refurbishment has turned a relatively mundane hotel into a magnificent one! I liked real locks on the doors, a shower and a separate bath, a portable radio and proper table lamps in the room. A complimentary bottle of water for each guest etc etc ...

Not enough promotion of decent cask beer, although the local Stonehenge Ale is excellent, but you have to look for it! The breakfast bread is brown or white, thick cut - not up to standard for a hotel of this quality. Nice pastries though. Not enough fresh fruit.

We had a fantastic stay and wouldn't hesitate to book here again. Great location within easy reach of nearby visitor attractions and plenty of parking on site. The room was large and very comfortable. The hotel has lots of character. Breakfast was very tasty with hot options made fresh to order. Lovely choice and good quality. Compliments to the Chef here - dinner in the restaurant was absolutely amazing. All of the staff were really helpful and friendly and we loved finishing our day with a cocktail and a chat in the bar.

Lovely hotel , food was excellent , staff were very professional and obliging . The room had been refurbished to a good standard but we felt was on the small side for two people. Bathroom was also slightly small but we managed . The bed was very comfortable and the addition of a fan was much appreciated as the room did get very hot at night . It was quiet at night . And overall we enjoyed our stay .

The room was nicely decorated and had two large windows that could be opened. The bathroom was very modern and clean with a nice bath and shower. The restaurant was roomy and we enjoyed our meal there. We also liked the courtyard area for drinks and it had a large carpark. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were too firm for me. Good location close to town centre and easy to get out of.

Some staff were very helpful but some were not maybe due to being stressed. One lady on her own at breakfast. There was no fridge in the room.

Beautiful hotel, expensively turned out. Didn’t eat there so can’t comment on that. Lots of lovely comfortable interesting seating. Pleasing colours

No lift. But realise it’s an old building. The bedrooms were too hot and you couldn’t turn the bathroom towel radiator off!! The duvets were rather thick, too many cushions on the bed, job to find where to put them when you sleep as quite small rooms. Two thinner ones to decorate would be enough. Pillows likewise, four thick pillows, didn’t like having to put two on the floor as nowhere else to put them sadly!! If someone really needs two pillows they could be provided on request in my opinion. Otherwise, if the room has space, leave them separate. Nevertheless, after the bed was decluttered, I actually had rather a good sleep. Comfortable bed.
