It is a beautiful calm atmosphere during the time I visited. It has a little farm and vineyard, a small farm shop and cafe, and is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life, perfect for the souls that want to rejuvenate themselves in peace. Guests here were respectful of each other and did not intentionally try to cause trouble as I have had personal experience of with many other hostels. The showers were separate from the room, room share with 3 or 4 other people kept the temperature of the room at the right level. Any more people and it would have been overheated. Conversations had with other people concur in similar ideas. It is a place where you have the option to switch off from technology. Smoking is outside the premises. Only one person seen drinking one can of beer on the premises within public areas only. Other niggles mentioned to the people running the place were made up in other ways and were also mentioned to me by guests but dutifully dealt with. Food is superb. And I appreciated the cafetière of coffee on the last day, a nice alternative!

One person smoking marijuana on the job it seemed but outside the premises. There is no proper laundrette facility for the guests although I was offered the use of what was available but left after two dries with wet clothes causing mildew in my luggage and clothes.

Amazing location with beautiful views and a really good sized room. Five minutes drive to Stonehenge. Roxy was really welcome when we ended up running late to arrive. Great, clean kitchen facilities. Very easy. Clean bed linen, hot shower (basic as you’d expect)

Only grumble is the beds were so creaky and the walls paper thin so we didn’t sleep well at all as we were so worried about waking the people in the room next door who had young children. Maybe it’s just that the screws I. Them need tightening but honestly you couldn’t move AT ALL without it sounding like you were building the bed.

Really couldn’t fault the accommodation and the staff are lovely & huge bonus to walk around the rare breeds farm and woodland . It’s no one’s fault who you have share the room , sadly on my second night a girl had set her alarm for 1.15 am to walk to Stonehenge for the Spring equinox ( which I could have told her she was never going to do 🙄 then from 4.30- 5.30am making really unnecessary noise in the room , ( a groundsheet sounded like it was being folded and unfolded a 100 times until she finally left . So yeah it’s Russian roulette how thoughtful the other guests are .

A fellow room mate not being thoughtful but that does not reflect on the hostel ;))))

Room was upgrade as really hot on top floor but as they had rooms lower down they automatically moved us - thoughtful touch. Mel was super communicative and a good host. It said breakfast was included as optional extra but nobody mentioned where or details so we missed it, could have been us though. Beds were comfier than anticipated though did have to use the second pillow from the bunk bed! Everywhere was clean and well presented. Got a tour on arrival of where things were and how it worked. Everywhere looked clean and showers were good.

Not well soundproofed kids running round at 7am and people slamming doors (keypad entry) and walking up and down and using the stairs was quite noisy. Really hot when we stayed (as hot weather) no fans etc room was stifling. No facilities breakfast tea or coffee etc so take your own. Site is isolated away from supermarket so unless u wanna drive into salisbury or amesbury then treat it like self cater. No breakfast was a bit show stopping. That said im returning with my family as great venue etc and now i know what to look for and ask about i would be confident to ask/get around.

It is based on a farm with the option to wonder around for free. There is animal feed available if interested, a restaurant/café which is nice to pop into but only offers the basics within the shop for those residing here. However the restaurant does offer amazing food. Its idyllic, quiet and peaceful, a good place for a retreat or to go somewhere if you are a travelling artist or writer.

Shower issues - still being addressed and notified. Bring your own food, the options at the restaurant are only the standardised versions if you are wanting to save money. Handmade sandwiches are not offering a wide selection and does not offer alternatives for vegans or those looking for other basic meals. (as stated very basic)

Nice homely traditional hostel with a beautiful garden and farm next door to visit. Plenty of dvs to watch in the evening ( unfortunately guests keep stealing the motcontrols :0(

Bedrooms could be improved....mattress thin ,a curtain across bunk beds would be great to cut out main room light as no personal bed lights. Lack of floor mat for shower..so floor becomes wet and slippy. A bit off the beaten track to get to .

Stayed here for Stonehenge! Mel was really helpful friendly and informative. The room was so spacious and warm. The farm was my favourite bit, wandering around in the morning saying hello to the animals was such a good start to the day (goats were my favourite)! Also the breakfast I had was superb: what the chef did with my eggs benedict was nothing short of wizardry ✨

Just a precaution: if you're getting the bus from Salisbury, it's a mile walk up the road with no pavements, which can be a bit sketchy at night. Of you're wanting to walk to Stonehenge, really ask around for directions, but please don't walk along the A303!! Also their site says they do evening meals but this actually finishes at 4pm! But you can order takeaway.

Breakfast was superb, great caffetiere given, quiet and calm, tucked away from the world and a place to rejuvenate oneself. The farm was really nice to be in and to see the vineyards as well. Having less access to bad foods was a positive and really helped me feel a lot better overall within personal well being.

It would be good to have a single room at this offer, but that would be applicable across the board. There was a small stair that tripped me up due to camouflaged carpets, but that is just more of an fyi. The booking website states breakfast is included but I had to pay the full standard amount.

I had an excellent experience with my stay in Stonehenge Hostel. The whole property was spotless clean and very well kept. There's a huge lounge area and fully equipped kitchen. The room was big, warm and bed cosy. The property is in the countryside and very peaceful environment the car is necessary. I would like to express my gratitude and say huge thanks to Mel for her help with my late arrival due to delayed Vueling flight.

Cleanliness of the property and prices of the rooms. Proximity of the location from Stonehenge. Attached farm experience and cafe which serves delicious food. Ample free parking, quite and pleasant place.

Location in general is rather isolated so if you're looking for food or groceries at off times like late evening options are very limited and not walkable at all. Having a car is a must.
