Nice big room at reasonable price, great steak and nice bar. breakfast was something of a feast for the cooked option.
Thermostat on the shower not good - kept going too hot, so reported that and they said it would be fixed. Parking was easy with a car park around the corner but wish there was better info on the website. Paid with MiPermit app remotely for 8-9am til I checked out.. I wanted to stay again 2 weeks later and the prices have sky rocketed for Easter - cant justify staying again at that ££ level for business just now, which is a shame as I would have booked a table for dinner 4 guests..

Booked two rooms for a friend and myself. We were upgraded to executive rooms due to work being needed in one of the others. These rooms were spectacular: very spacious, with comfortable furnishings, beautiful decor, and excellent large bathrooms. One room was bright and luxuriously elegant, while the other had full dark wood wall paneling and felt like you had gone back in time to an Elizabethan manor house - but with all the comforts of the 21st century. The building is very old - parts of it 13th century, Chris told me - joining different original structures together with a delightful maze of hallways and corners and short curving flights of steps that really bring home how historic it is. All of it is beautifully restored/maintained/decorated. Chris and the other staff we encountered were very helpful and clearly care about making the hotel and restaurant top-notch for guests. The included cooked-to-order breakfast was excellent, as was dinner the night we arrived. Its location right across the street from the entrance to the cathedral grounds was incredibly convenient for us, as the main focus of our too-brief stop in Salisbury was to see the cathedral and especially the Magna Carta. Parking is a little awkward being a block or so away, but they provided a voucher to reduce the cost and there were no problems finding it or getting a space. This hotel is truly outstanding and an incredible find. I would definitely stay again, hopefully for longer. Thank you!

We were greeted by Stefan on arrival , he carried my case to the room and showed us where everything was. The room had a roll top bath in it, The bathroom had a great shower, There were plenty of tea, coffee etc. plus two bottles of water You pre order Breakfast for the next day which saves any waste. The breakfast had a good selection on the buffet and the cooked breakfast was perfect. We were greeted by Louis for Breakfast who was very helpful. Stefan kindly booked us a table for supper. The steak was amazing. The location is brilliant for Salisbury Cathedral. It is a beautiful Tudor Building.
Some of the paint work is a little bit tired but not surprising as the place was totally booked up and is 800 years old.

The Chapter House is a remarkable wobbly old hotel. I would hate to decorate it as there is not a square wall in the place. Having said that it is wonderful. The staff were friendly, the housekeeping was first class , the rooms were emaculate. The food was first class we had Christmas dinner there and it was excellent quality and huge. The location was also perfect close to the cathedral and town.
Having said all of the good stuff above, the Chapterhouse could really benefit from a resident's lounge. There is no where to chill out other than your room and downstairs is always full with patrons as it is a very popular restaurant. The private dining room would be my suggestion.

The room was spacious and had a separate sitting area. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable and the room was generally well appointed. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was very busy but the food was good (and portions huge!) and we also had breakfast the following morning which was also very good. The location was perfect for our stay as we wanted to visit the Cathedral - just over the road - and other walkable locations. The hotel didn't have their own parking area but we bought a greatly reduced, price wise, voucher from them for 24 hour parking in an open air car park just round the corner which was fine.
Nothing. The staff seemed rushed off their feet but were still very polite and helpful.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The morning breakfast crew were excellent, the food was well cooked, served hot and efficiently. They went out of their way to ensure the meal was enjoyable. The location is excellent for the cathedral and the city centre. The railway station is also within walking distance even with a medium sized suitcase.
Room 10, which coincidentally was the same room we stayed in previously two years ago, was a disappointment. There were spot light fittings hanging from their housings in the bedroom and the lights in the bathroom were inefficient. The carpet at the entrance to the bathroom was fraying, allowing the carpet grabber nails to be exposed to bare feet. we reported these faults to a member of staff as we checked out.

The food was delicious, the ambiance was so much fun, the accommodations were excellent, the 600+ year historical significance are unparalleled and it’s just across the street from Salisbury Cathedral Close. It’s an amazing location walking distance from the High Street. The staff was AMAZING and went out of their way to make sure our every need was taken care of ASAP. Even the crazy, wonky, uneven ancient stairwell was charming and fun for the family to experience. It reiterated the century’s old age of this historic place. The bed was very comfortable and we were there 4 nights so we got a good amount of time to really experience the whole place. Is book here again in a heartbeat. 💗
It would be difficult for anyone who does not do well with stairs. Our room was the family room on the top (4th) floor.

It was central, so for a quick one night visit to Salisbury it was wonderful to be able to access the centre easily on foot. All the staff that we encountered were pleasant and professional. The breakfast was fab!
A bit misleading to use the “parking” icon on the amenities list, as there is no parking at the house itself. This caught me out. The nearby parking that is mentioned when you look closer for details was full when we arrived, which was unfortunate as it was dark and tipping rain. So perhaps I would recommend arriving mid-afternoon as I suspect more parking would be available, and it really is convenient to the House. Culver Street car park worked well also.

Very friendly staff except for comment below, good breakfast
The man who 'greeted' us on arrival and showed us to the room was rude and very offhand- spoke without looking at us, while walking away from us with a strong foreign accent. No hint of a friendly smile, which must be Item 1 on the 'How to work in a hotel'course. He is definitely in the wrong job! He was the only one we spoke to then. We went out for the evening, and when we returned and walked through the bar/restaurant area, we were actually surprised when the other staff smiled and said hello! We had assumed all the staff would be like him..he was dreadful.

Absolutely stunning place. My room was amazing. Full of character, and beautifully presented. My bed was extremely comfortable with crisp white sheets and soft pillows. The room was spotless. I also loved the higgledy-piggledy nature of the whole hotel including wonky stairs showing their 500 years of use and beams everywhere. Directly across from the hotel was the entry into the close around Salisbury cathedral. It was wonderful to go for a walk there before breakfast, alone with just the odd local jogger. I will come back!
Nothing.
