Fantastic. Thank you Peter and Anita. We booked somewhere to stay while visiting family. From when we drove into the car park to the moment we left we felt very welcomed, chilled and relaxed. I had a really bad back after the drive and Anita came to our room with a heat patch. That little extra added to our weekend stay. The hosts we amazing. Recommended the Lucky House Chinese takeaway which was delicious. They warned us of the portion sizes and were large. The food was incredible and we had the opportunity to eat in the dining room. Much better than eating in your room. The room was immaculate. The bed was a godsend for my bad back. The shower was lovely. We were asked what time for breakfast. We said 8.30.and it was on our table bang on. It was absolutely delicious. I am not a breakfast person but this was superb. Banging bangers!!! When we visit family next time we will definitely be staying again. if available?? Thank you so much Peter and Anita. See you soon.
Absolutely nothing. Fantastic from start to finish. Will deinately stay again.

Anita (and Sid, one of the cats) greeted me warmly. After showing me my room and explaining the keys, she fetched me some fresh milk to have in the room. It was easy to park outside to unload and load the car and parking us secure and away from traffic. I had a very comfortable bed and the room and bathroom were remarkably clean. Amazing array of pillows and cushions on the bed. Good quality hot chocolate provided along with tea bags and instant coffee in the room. Plenty of plugs and the WiFi worked well. I enjoyed a stroll at tge nearby RSPB reserve and saw a stork. Pete cooked an excellent full English breakfast, accompanied by a good roast coffee in a cafetiere. It was fun watching a deer wandering around outside as I ate. Good value.
The bathroom light was motion activated and set on quite a lengthy timer before switching off, which was disturbing after dark when wantingvto go to sleep. The bedroom was very warm compared to the bathroom. The "garden view" is a misnomer as, to enable the hosts some privacy when in the garden/the room some privacy from others, a large wooden fence conceals the garden from view - there are some treetops visible above it, and the rear of a moss-covered eagle statue. The view outside the window is of 2 sad shrubs, some pebbles over plastic sheeting and a small ornamental sheep. The WiFi in the guide is not the same network login as you need to use, although the password is the same. Google refers to Highfields Holidays Bed & Breakfast as Countryside Lodge.

Highfields is a great B&B. Pete and Anita are very welcoming hosts. They provide the perfect balance of being helpful and attentive whilst respecting your privacy. The room is immaculately clean on arrival, spacious and comfortable. The shower is hot with good water pressure. Excellent and plentiful cooked breakfast. Easy, secure parking onsite. We have stayed here twice and would definitely do so again.
The only restaurant within reasonable walking distance is a small Chinese takeaway/chippy. However, this shouldn't be a problem for most guests as there is a range of restaurants within 10-15 minute drive.

This bed and breakfast is something special! Located away from traffic, it was quiet and peaceful. The hosts were exceptional, looking after me very well and in a very friendly and professional manner. My single room looked as if it had been recently refurbished, and was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was served to me at the requested time in my room, and as per my specifications given the night before. I was able to park right outside my room which made unloading my car easier, and the security gates to the property meant my car was safe. I look forward to my next chance to stay here, and would highly recommend it.
I would have preferred to have access to a breakfast room, but this is just my personal preference and didn't detract from my enjoyment of my stay here.

Everything from the minute we arrived. Evening we had to meet someone and we got directions. Advised a fabulous Chinese and told we could take back to eat. Plates cutlery provided. Asked what time we would like breakfast. We asked for 8am Never had a breakfast served bang on time. Freshly made and hot every thing just perfect . Very interesting couple and interested in our adventure. Can’t recommend them enough… Secure of road parking, stunning home . Oh and the bed was so comfortable and fresh.
Our stay wasn’t long enough Fault anything

Good, filling cooked breakfast, but then swapped to continental. Starting with fruit juice, then cereal (muesli/granola) temptingly presented with yogurt and fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, grapes, raspberries) + warm croissant or pain au chocolat, toast, tea or coffee. During the later evening news the sound went on the tv. Mentioned it to the owners the next morning, the tv had been changed by the time we returned after our day out. Couldn't ask for more. The owners, Pete and Anita, welcoming and very helpful

From the moment I stepped into Highfields Bed and Breakfast, I was enveloped in a sense of warmth and meticulous care. The room was thoroughly clean, with every corner gleaming and every surface spotless, reflecting the staff's unwavering commitment to excellence. Attention to detail was evident everywhere, from the crisply ironed sheets to the neatly arranged amenities that catered to all my needs. It's clear that the staff doesn't just clean; they curate an experience for each guest to feel special and valued. The host was nothing short of excellent striking the perfect balance between professionalism and personable charm. They were attentive without being intrusive, always there to ensure my stay was as comfortable as possible. And then there was the breakfast – oh, the breakfast! A lovely spread that was both hearty and delightful, featuring a variety of choices that catered to different tastes and dietary requirements. Each morning was a new opportunity to indulge in a delicious start to the day. In conclusion, Highfields Bed and Breakfast is a haven of tranquility and comfort. It’s difficult to put into words what an amazing find Highfields Holiday B&B was for us but here goes. We arrived quite late on a miserable autumn/winter day to receive the warmest of welcomes from Peter. Everything was perfect for our mini-break, from the mince pies to have with a hot drink and fresh milk in the fridge to the room and utilities which were spotlessly clean. Our room was VERY spacious and bigger than the photos made it seem. Nothing was a bother for the owners Pete and Anita and we were extremely lucky to be offered cooked breakfasts during our break, and, with winter upon us, they were a perfect addition to stay. Although lunch and dinner isn’t an option there is a Chinese takeaway (highly recommended) about 4 minutes walk from the B&B, a couple of pubs nearby (didn’t venture in though) and a supermarket 1.4 miles away (walking distance). Whittlesey village/town is about a couple of miles away too and Whittlesea Train Station about 3 miles away with links to Peterborough Central and Cambridge amongst other cities. As for returning for another break? Definitely!!! Our stay couldn’t have been better and for that alone we give it 10/10.
Nothing, everything was spot on

We had a cooked breakfast which was well presented and not greasy. Checked that we had all we needed and offered more juice, coffee etc. From a natural history perspective very good location as very near a reserve. Also lake at property and another down the lane. Offered us a doubled bedded room (and spacious) instead of twin bedded we had originally booked which we appreciated. Lovely shower. Easy to connect to Wifi (free).
Bed sagged a little in the middle! Otherwise nothing to dislike.

Gorgeous setting with a lake round the back, very scenic. Well located for a day event I went to. Single room was small but comfortable, very clean. Breakfast served straight to the room which has its own entrance. Would stay again!
If I had to make a recommendation it would be nice to have a YouTube app on the TV but that was really not a big deal as I finally managed to catch up on Bake Off rather than being on YouTube 😄
