The property is beautiful inside and out. I love how the old building has been incorporated in to a modern hotel. My room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed with everything I needed. The pub/bar/restaurant is cozy, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. (I’d strongly recommend softer lighting in the dining room, it would pull a vast space together help the cozy feel, flow through from from the bar when it’s time to move for dinner).

The gym area is tiny, exposed for all to see and not appealing. The pillars around the pool were all rusty at the base which really lets down the otherwise beautiful pool area and is relatively quick, cheap and easy to remedy. The changing rooms need much stronger ventilation, to prevent the black mould around the lockers and the strong, unpleasant smell of damp. These items are important to me as a guest and desperately need to be looked at as a matter if urgency.

We had a lovely located room and the bed was very comfortable had 2 nights good sleep, all of the compliments of tea, coffee, cookies and toiletries. Staff all helpful and assisted when asked, the spa facilities and pool were just what was needed to help unwind. We had the breakfast buffet and the selection was excellent, I also asked for porridge which was not on menu but were happy to gladly cook and serve. The location of the Hotel is a little gem in The Village and there is a truely wonderful Redwood tree walk to stroll through whilst there. Finally if you wish to eat out and appreciate good cooking then don't hesitate a visit to the Gurkha Lounge, we found and experienced their amazing authentic Nepalese dishes.

Minor issues, Cosmetics really, parts of decor and repairs, fitting for shower head. Probably not easy running hotels in current economic climate but with everything on offer at Orton Hall a quality pro active Hotel / catering manager would really add something extra positive for owners and guests.

I have stayed in different rooms and always had a good night's sleep. The breakfast, both staff and food, are excellent. The same can be said for the Ramblewood Inn. The leisure facilities meet my needs and I like the fact that the sauna reaches a proper temperature and that guests don't seem to throw too much water on the stones so the humidity is low.

Sorry to say this but the Reception and Spa staff could learn a lot from the Ramblewood Inn and Breakfast staff. The latter are definitely more happy and make you feel welcome. Secondly, it would be nice if the floor in the Spa changing rooms (or at least the men's) could be wiped down more regularly using a floor shower squeegee or similar.

Very relaxing stay. Lovely staff, good swimming pool, lovely food, excellent service in the Ramblewood bar from Andy H and the team.

Would really rather not have had breakfast in lounge on low down settee. We couldn’t go in the restaurant because we had a dog with us. It would have been simple to let us eat in a separate space to others and let us sit at a table!

The house is an old manor house with rambling corridors and old rooms. Its been tastefully restored and turned into a rather nice hotel. Breakfast is buffet style and lovely. The staff were pleasant to deal with, we had no issues. The spa, pool, sauna and hot tub are great. Not gold star, but for the money they all worked and were clean and accessible. Beds were really comfortable and the rooms large, with free toiletries, kettle, hair drier and bath/ shower. Wifi was free and the TV had freeview.

Didn't like the Ramblewood pub next door. The staff were nice but it was a little soulless and the beer wasn't up to much. The food was expensive for what you got, but nice. We didn't hang around long.

Location is amazing, a short walk to a bus stop if you wanted it and a manageable walk to the wonderful Nene country park and old railway station in the other direction. Building exterior wonderful and plentiful parking. All staff were excellent and attentive, especially those in restautants.We had a twin room and it was very spacious and beds were very comfortable. A short drive into Peterborough itself but location is a superb spot. We used the spa facilities which were great The pub is next to the main building and provides a good alternative if you want to eat there rather than the fancier Huntley restaurant. It was all very good for the price.

It was slightly annoying that our room 008 was right next to the external door which made a lot of noise when guests left early in the morning. The whole building interior is tired, as others had commented on, so I expected a shower curtain-over-bath set-up. If they did the place up, got rid of overhead moss on glass in the spa, updated the interior decor etc they could charge more but then I wouldn't have afforded it! It has lovely bones.

The spa/pool facilities were brilliant, a great addition to our stay. The gym was lacking but didn’t affect us. Our room was very comfortable, bathroom was clean and modern. The hotel was clean and had lots of spaces to relax outside of your room. Whilst we didn’t eat in the hotel, family members did and they raved about the food. We ate at the Ramblewood Arms next door twice and were very impressed with the food. Breakfast was good value for money.

The room was slightly smaller than we were expecting and our view was of a wall so made our room a little dark, but it didn’t affect our stay.

whilst staying there, we googled and read about the history of the building, which was interesting...especially as we live literally 2miles away (we wanted a change of scenery for the evening). our family room was comfortable and spacious and it had a huge, amazing bath. we definitely got our hearts racing.using the 2 flights of stairs, but this was not an issue. as we had a lovely view from our windows. we enjoyed using the pool, sauna and steam rooms, and ventured into the pub next door for drinks mid evening. the only thing that let the hotel down, is that there is a food / chip-fat type smell in the corridors which is not pleasant... hiwever this would not stop us from staying again in the future..

It was a trip for my youngest daughters birthday...she is in her early 30s...with her two sisters ...so we could have quality time together ❤️ mummy & her 3 daughters....I have been before with my OH so knew what to expect and was definitely not let down... the only thing that would have made it better would have been the availability of having actual spa treatments ( one each would have been the cherry on the top... but unfortunately, it wasn't to be... We made the most of the pool sauna & steam room and slept really well afterwards and awoke to a magnificent breakfast, which I would definitely recommend afterwards it was a glorious day so we went for a walk at the nature reserve opposite... We also had lunch the previous day which was nice & well priced.. I have already booked to come back...hopefully this time we can have a spa treatment...fingers crossed x

Stunning location and lovely and quiet surroundings with great grounds. Plenty of areas to sit undisturbed with family and friends both inside and outside. When we come again we will upgrade to one of the heritage rooms- they are well worth the relatively few pounds more! Didn’t use the spa but intend to use it next time. Rooms were spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable with very good facilities. Private spacious grounds meant no noise disturbance from outside but could hear noise from adjoining room which woke us up very early which was a pity. Breakfast selection was very good with hot plates for the hot buffet selection. Small point but the milk urn in the cereal section needs a label stating milk as when you view from the top it isn’t obvious that’s what it contains! Not a big problem as milk for tea/ coffee is on the table and staff refilled the jug. All staff tried really hard to ensure our stay was good. Only one negative:- Stayed for one night and found it off putting that the housemaid was cleaning the room on our return from breakfast at 9-40 although check out wasn’t until 11-00- felt a little pressured to gather items to leave, didn’t understand that arrangement.
