This wonderful place knows exactly how to run a fabulous pub/b&b. What a find! From the fabulous music on the patio, the delicious bbq food to the warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Staff were genuinely lovely. Room was gorgeous with fridge containing milk, water and the most beautiful slices of lemon cake. Breakfast was delicious and good quality. I can find no fault whatsoever with this place, so pleased that we found it and will 100% be coming back and bringing friends! Well done The Bluebell, spot on in every way

What a nice place! A lovely old stone pub/restaurant with loads of character in an equally lovely stone built village. The staff were super-friendly and attentive. The room was an old coach-shed conversion - very tastefully done with very good facilities and a comfortable bed. The food was first class and promptly served. The chef's pies (I had a Steak & Ale and a Lamb & Mint) were superb and beautifully served on a bed of delicious local veg. Recommended! I also had a chicken curry which was very good.

A tiny comment on the room. Being an old coach shed (or similar) mine had no windows. No problem for me but no ventilation either except for a roof light window with a blind. I couldn't manage to open the window or close the blind.

The Bluebell is a quaint pub in the cute village of Helpston. The staff were lovely and our full breakfast was delicious!

Unfortunately there were a few negatives. We reserved two rooms. Both were extremely hot inside (it had been a very warm day). A fan was provided, but that just moved the hot air around. One room had no windows except a skylight. The other room had a window that opened out into a garden bed next to the car park (no insect screen so there were spiders in the room). So basically it was very difficult to sleep because it was too hot, the noise from the industrial sized exhaust fan for the kitchen stayed on until very late, a 7am delivery driver parked right outside the window and left his engine running whilst making his delivery and the wooden frames for the beds made a noise every time you moved. Please note: my husband did sleep through the night!

The Bluebell is working well as the village pub for Helpston, but is equally welcoming to tourists wishing to stay in the area. It is located approximately 20mins drive from Burghley House and Stamford, but is in a peaceful location, offering high quality accommodation and great value food and drink. The staff team were excellent, both courteous and helpful. It would be lovely to stay there again.

Some tiny attention to details...plenty of hooks, but only one coathanger; a hook on the back of the bathroom door was loose and the individual cafetiere provided had not been washed properly (the parts need unscrewing and washing) but that's it!

Great pub in very pretty village handy for Stamford, Peterborough and The Deepings. Staff were excellent, room suited our purpose very well - ground floor, walk in shower and king size bed. Great for an overnighter. Lovely unexpected touches for a pub stay - slice of lemon drizzle in the fridge, along with water and fresh milk; bath robes, fresh coffee; books and games.

Sadly we hit it on Curry Night and there was no advance warning. Hubby can’t stomach the stuff, but the kitchen staff could not have been more obliging in providing something that suited - including the most delicious apple crumble and custard.

Extremely clean and well thought out accommodation - practical touches like a hand held magnifying mirror extremely useful for ladies applying makeup 😉 Fresh milk in the fridge and a good selection of beverages in the room.Owners are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Excellent breakfast with plenty of coffee and 'proper' size cups.

Disappointed that there wasn't any food available Sunday, Monday or Tuesday and the bar closed at 8pm on Sunday. Just be aware before you arrive hungry. The owners are fairly new and working hard to open more hours.

Friendly busy traditional pub serving good food, with beautifully (newly) appointed rooms in the courtyard. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fresh milk, kettle all provided in the rooms which were well fitted out and comfortable. A very responsive landlady (Elena) who made us feel most welcome. Food service was a little slow on Saturday night, but it was very busy with a couple of large parties and they were a couple of staff down. They did their best under the circumstances, and the food was good when it came. It’s good to see a pub in a small village so well supported.

We were able to park behind the pub where there is a gate to the rooms. It was a small studio courtyard room with nice extra touches like bathrobes and a fridge with cake & fresh milk. Bed was quite comfy, the linens were nice, but the pillows very flat. Unfortunately there was an awful smell coming from the bathroom, which didn't seem to be the loo & more the shower drain, so we kept the door closed & the light/fan on, which lessened the smell. Dinner was very tasty, as was breakfast, although the chef was left alone to cook & serve the breakfast, so it made it a little awkward & took some time. Obviously the missing staff member could have had an emergency, so hopefully they are ok. All in all & nice stay.

Smelly bathroom & flat pillows. Everything else is great.

Excellent food, we enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner all of which were varied and of a high standard coupled with really friendly service plus at lunch/dinner some great beers .... and a great red Rioja which punches way above its price point! I particularly liked the fact that I was able to take my dog with me who was also made very welcome and even given recommendations for places to take her for a walk! My Mate was delighted as while quietly watching football on his iPad it was spotted by one of the Team and the TV switched on for him to see it on the bigger screen👍

Everything! Staff and service were excellent from the moment we got there until we left! The deluxe room was beautiful- spotlessly clean with some lovely extras like fresh milk and cake as well as delicious coffee. The food can only be described as amazing, with generous portions served both at breakfast and our evening meal- so much so, there was no room for pudding! The Bluebell was genuinely dog friendly- our dog was made to feel very welcome. I cannot recommend this place highly enough both for quality and value for money! We will definitely go back!
