Stunning location, room as on the fotos in the forest. Excellent five star dinner and breakfast. Peaceful atmosphere with 10 rooms. Spacious rooms like small apartment. 100 percent recommended.

Small thing: bathroom needs rejuvenation.

Mozumo is a beautiful zen like facility. Everything promoted the concept of peace and harmony with nature. Although there were other patrons, we hardly noticed them. It was very quiet, the only noise was the sound of the spring water flowing into the private onsen, plus the rain.

The beds were on wooden platforms with a mattress. I’ve slept Japanese style on tatami on the floor, and I was fine because I knew what to expect. However, if you have a mattress, I expect it to be more soft and cushioned. The bed was slightly uncomfortable. No deal big, but I mentioned it because everything else was perfect.

Beautifully designed inside. The private onsen is great. And the dinner was really impressive. It’s in a beautiful location near the ropeway and Kamikochi for walks. They also offer a shuttle to the bus station, it’s not far but useful when pouring or dark.

You had to book in for dinner and breakfast five days in advance, so there’s no flexibility if you change your mind. We did one dinner in the hotel and it’s worth the experience, but there are places you ca eat out. We tried the local ramen place nearby which was good.

Writing this after coming back from Japan. Mozumo is the one place that made my trip 10 times better. Beyond the facilities and the insanely good food, It felt so special. Bear in mind this place is not for everybody as their checkin and eating times are very restrictive (because It's private setting), but I'm telling you It's all worth It. From the high-end van they picked me up with from the station to the huge room, the Michelin star food, the private onsen in the room, everything was magical. There is only one warning, try to be there while there is still snow and It's still cold, otherwise the onsen is gonna be way too hot. I was here alone, but can't think of a better place to stay with your partner for a cozy weekend too. One last thing: meals are served on a private setting (not a restaurant), and I had the most magical view of the snow while dinning and having breakfast. Unforgettable.

An absolutely breathtaking experience, the most relaxing stay we've ever had anywhere. It's definitely not cheap, but if you want to treat yourself to a once in a lifetime experience during your trip to Japan, this is the place to do it. It's a haven of peace in the mountains, the private onsen in the room is an amazing amenity, and the food was the best we had in Japan. The staff are incredibly kind and thoughtful and we left completely relieved of any stress.

Mozumo is an absolute must in any season. If you can find a good deal like I did for the night I was there, the stay is more than worth it. The private balcony onsen is divine but the real shower stopper is the traditional Japanese meals (dinner and breakfast) which are available. The food is incredible, some of the best I have ever had. It is an additional cost (and not a cheap one) but is absolutely worth it. The rest of the hotel was minimalist, modern and clean. Would be a pleasure to stay there again.

Absolutely nothing!

My stay was a thoroughly luxurious, relaxing experience. From the carefully curated interior that was calm, comforting and beautiful, to the wonderful staff and the exceptional meal (dinner and breakfast), which included local specialties prepared with love and care, everything was curated and deliberately chosen. I loved taking a bath in the private onsen in my room, being able to open the sliding doors to the forest just outside the room, where I was completely immersed in nature. The staff took care of all my needs and i felt completely at ease and could reset myself completely. a lovely Yukatan completed the experience.

I have no complaints!

This was, far and above, the best hospitality experience I've ever had. It was like a dream. The room was perfect, every detail elegant and comfortable and just right. The private bath was lovely and the view mesmerizing, keeping me entranced for hours. The food, though, was the true highlight - get the breakfast each day, and at least one dinner. Every piece was stunning, top-quality, like I'd pay hundreds of dollars for at home in "the" big US city which I won't name but you can guess. It was also served on unique, gorgeous porcelain, and it all fit together like a symphony. Truly - the thing, as a whole, was life-changing.

Absolutely nothing could have been better.

We loved our private onsen looking out over the garden and the beautiful tatami room. the room was very private and quiet.

We found the inflexibility about meals and check out rather off putting. The hotel could not accommodate my pescatarian husband despite months of warning and fish being a common menu item in the Alps region. We could only order breakfast on one of our two mornings there- a mystery as to why! This required us to find meals away from the onsen somewhat spoiling the relaxed few days. When we asked for a 10.30 am rather than 10am check out this was denied. It all felt rather rigid. The check in staff were friendly.

Spacious rooms, very tastefully decorated in a minimalistic style. The private onsen was blissful. Food was excellent (although a bit pricey). The hotel is 5 minutes from the bus station, with connections to the main cities and to the Kamikoche park. Overall, highly recommended.

Communications prior to our stay were a bit complicated at first, but in the end everything worked out well.
