A gem of a hotel in a lovely town. The hotel is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. Thomas was super helpful with everything from parking to recommendations on where to eat and making a reservation for us. There aren’t any tea / coffee making facilities in the room or public areas but so many places on the doorstep this wasn’t a problem - but useful to know. We had 2 rooms and our boys’ room had a private terrace which was lovely for breakfast and sitting in the evening. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this hotel and to Azay-le-Rideau with its lovely chateau, wish we’d stayed another night or two to properly explore.

The hotel is well located close to the main attraction Chateau Azay-Le-Rideau. The village is stunning with many restaurants, some are Michelin star. Parking is free in a few carparks in the village. On arrival guests are requested to park in a 5 minute drop off luggage zone due the fact the village is one way in some of it. The Hotel is an a converted school with a central courtyard. The room is well appointed, with a very good bathroom with a walk in shower.

All the hotels we stayed in France offer a kettle and the opportunity to make a beverage in the room. Hotel de Biencourt, did not offer such a service, in fact nothing. I understand there is plenty of choice in the village, but sometimes after a long drive it is a relief to be able to make a cup of tea. The only meal the hotel offers is breakfast, and guests are compelled to book for breakfast. The first day we bought some quiche from one of the patisseries, it was beautifully boxed, and our idea was to sit at one of the tables in the courtyard and eat lunch. As we walked past reception, the manager abruptly told us off, and said outside food was prohibited. This was an expensive hotel and I felt like a pariah. We ended up feeling deflated and consumed our lunch in the park.

What a special and charming place! Hôtel de Biencourt is perfectly located just steps away from the stunning Château d’Azay-le-Rideau, with plenty of excellent restaurants and lovely shops just a stone’s throw away. The hotel itself is full of character and warmth, offering both comfort and charm in equal measure. The receptionist and owner were very welcoming and accommodating—they truly went out of their way to make us feel at home and clearly enjoyed playing and interacting with my little girls. We would love to return!

I would have appreciated a bit more variety at breakfast, but overall, it was a truly delightful stay.

This is another place that rates quite high for my family, with 30 years of experience of traveling to Europe! The owner is phenomenal and warmly welcomed us when we arrived. As it was before our room was ready, we could leave our luggage at the property. Communication prior to arrival was excellent. The facilities, including our beautiful room and bathroom, are great. The breakfast room has plenty of options. The exterior courtyard was peaceful and charming. The location of the hotel is perfect, being a 1 minute walk to Chateau d'Azay-le-Rideau. The small village is serene and easy to explore during a short evening walk. We parked (2 nights) at the free spots in "Parking de La Passerelle", about 5 minutes away. There might be free overnight parking a bit closer at L'ilot d'Azay, but ask beforehand if it is free and legal. Definitely make Hotel de Biencourt your choice when in this part of France. You will not regret it!

Absolutely stunning. Beautiful room over looking the street. Bedding was beautiful as was the decor. Fantastic, clean bathroom. Gorgeous garden area. Breakfast looked amazing, but we unfortunately had to leave before 8am so had to get breakfast on route as breakfast is served from 8am on Sundays. Amazing patisserie around the corner which opens at 7am though if you’re in a hurry. We parked in the secure garage around the corner, 3/4 minute walk from the hotel for an extra €10 I think it was including tax, book this when you make your reservation. Have dinner in the beautiful restaurant to the left of the hotel almost next to the stunning chateau. The restaurant is called Coté Cour-make sure you book as it’s often fully booked. The chateau is a MUST. €13 each for adults. Children under 16 are free. Go before 5pm if you want to look INSIDE the chateau. A lovely little town to potter about in. The icecream shop opposite the hotel is open until 11pm much to my twins delight!!!

Good location in centre of town and our room on the ground floor was very comfortable with a little private terrace. Although breakfast consisted of all local products, which was admirable, we felt it could have been better….. Reception staff in particular were really helpful with local knowledge etc.

We weren’t very keen on the house rule of no food or drink from outside under any circumstances. Rather difficult with certain health problems.

Super good service. If I visit this location, this hotel shall be on my list. The front desk helped us to direct our vehicle to park in the hotel’s secured parking. The front desk informed us to pick up items after we left. Lobby is spacious for meeting friends & families.

Hotel should offer more rooms with two single beds. When I booked it. It was offered to my family member. At the end, the request was not met.

Located in the town centre, 100m from the chateau. Friendly welcome, comfortable bed and modern shower room. Bike store opposite the entrance. Good breakfast, but no bar or concierge after 8pm

After 8pm, noting the need to reduce noise, no option for evening bar or coffee service- perhaps an honesty box system for chilled wines, beers and sodas is needed?

Very friendly helpful staff, absolutely beautiful decor and styling, generous delicious breakfast. Our comfort room was indeed very comfortable. The location is fantastic. It was really lovely, could be even better to have tea and coffee making facilities in room. Location is great, walkable (one minute!) to lovely restaurants, cafes, bars and the chateau.

Excellent location in a lovely historic town. Tomas and Léa were excellent hosts, very charming and very helpful with anything we needed. The bedroom, with spacious bathroom was across the courtyard and very cool considering the outside heat ! The breakfast choice was super, of great quality and all locally sourced too.
