Lovely and clean Jane the receptionist was lovely and welcoming real credit to you - food was lovely - the coffee was exceptional! History was interesting , lovely to stay somewhere so old Cocktails lovely ! Spa was nice, we were brought champagne and were able to enjoy in the hot tub Horace was also a credit to you as was the older gentleman at breakfast. Made our stay very special

The only things that let the stay down was the bad mannered spa receptionist (very rude indeed! No niceties not even a smile. Very curt and unwelcoming - it was as if we were a major inconvenience to her just by being there) really let’s you down and taints all of the other staffs hard work and effort - a real shame. The other small point was being next to the road wasn’t great

The pool and associated facilities were superb. The bathroom had a window !! The hotel generally was top notch bearing in mind the age of some parts of it. The pamphlet detailing the history of the hotel was riveting and I wish I had read it while there (forgot my glasses) as we missed many of the features. We had a very comfortable stay over the 3 nights. Bus service super to many places ie 40 minutes to Chichester and a scenic journey to boot. Would stay there again.

The lounge bar, while attractive, was unappealing due to no one there - time of year perhaps ? Toast at breakfast was not really toasted, warm bread really (feature of so many hotels these days) but that is nit-picking.

Lovely spa and gym and it wasn’t too busy. You could use the spa before check in time although our room was ready early. We had a classic double room that was a good size and was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice with continental and cooked options. We ate in the restaurant and that was good too. Midhurst was nice to walk around and you can do a bigger loop around Cowdray. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

There was a service charge added onto the bill for dinner. It was discretionary but unexpected. I paid it as we had a nice time but didn’t think it was necessary to add it after having paid for half board in advance.

We've stayed at this hotel before as it is one of our favourites. We all agreed this was the best, due to the professionalism, charm & attitude of all the staff. Beds are really, really comfy. The food has also improved and our breakfasts & meal were delicious. Spa & pool great. I particularly love the candles and the scent as you enter the hotel. At this time of year the roaring fires are lit early so we were tempted to sit in the bar all day! It means it all feels really relaxing & welcoming.

Not a fault with the hotel but we could have done without one entitled group of men in the bar on the second night. They were like a Fast Show parody of the English upper class! The hotel managed them well. Other guests lovely though.

All aspects of our stay were excellent ( except for a couple of points mentioned below) . The Reception staff were excellent , the room exceedingly comfortable and the food very good .

There were just a couple of points that we were disappointed with . Firstly , the cost of the one night stay seemed a little bit steep. The second point relates to the lounge bar , whilst very comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere, the glasses from our first drinks weren’t cleared away for the 75 minutes we were there despite us ordering one more round .

The hotel has a lot of charm and is very comfortable to stay at, there are a lot of different areas in the hotel to enjoy. We enjoyed the spa, particularly the pool and jacuzzi, the hotel provides robes, flip flops and towels for use in the spa together with toiletries such as; body wash, shampoo and conditioner.. The hotel is ideally situated to visit the town and Cowdray estate. The breakfast did not disappoint and the staff were very friendly and helpful regarding my dietary requirements

The receptionist on arrival was amazing, told us about the history and walked us around the building. Room was very clean, cosy and comfortable.Dinner was excellent and the 2 gentlemen serving were so welcoming, 1st class dinner service!

One of the girls working at breakfast front desk wasn't very welcoming, we were sat at the table and was waiting for about 10mins until I went to ask how things works at breakfast .( Wasn't busy at all) She told me to wait until she comes to get the order but 2 ladies sitting next to us told us that the continental was at the other room. As front of house, she should have asked if was our first time and tell us how breakfast works.Not a good experience after having a magnificent evening , dinner the night before .

Beautiful old character inn in Midhurst. Excellent helpful staff in reception, bar and restaurant. Particularly enjoyed the fireplaces and comfy sofas in the lounge bar. Small comfortable room was perfect for me for a one night stay. Did not use the spa as I was busy exploring Midhurst. Enjoyed the food in the restaurant, but when I stay again next year will try and get them to set up a table for me in the lounge bar as it is so much cosier.

Was kept awake for a while by what sounded like an extractor fan outside the room.

Very flexible with our arrival and the room rwas ready early. Extremely accommodating staff, helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely show round on arrival and help offered to carry our bags. We made full use of the spa and treatments, which are wonderful, clean, quiet, and well maintained. Our room was luxurious, with a massive bed! Really lovely bathroom and plenty of space in the room to sit and enjoy the peace. Dinner in the restaurant was perfect! Great choice of veggie options and generous portions. Breakfast was equally lovely. We felt extremely spoilt and considered at all points of the stay. It was an added bonus to be able to use the spa for a few hours after check out, which added to the relaxation of the weekend. Thank you!

We loved everything! A very small point would be to know the price of the evening meal menu, we may have missed this but were a little unclear whether there was a set price for the whole meal or a price for courses. We didn't order a starter but afterwards wondered if it was already included in the price. We stayed B+B and noted there was an allowance for this in a package, but no clarity on price otherwise. Everything else just perfect x

The hotel is very old with a very interesting history, the room was very comfortable and the dinner excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and there was plenty of parking.

The cooked breakfast was slightly disappointing, the toast came at the start so was cold by the time we had it after the cooked breakfast and the latter itself was a bit too well done, the coffee was warm rather than hot when delivered.
