The rooms were clean, freshly decorated, and the staff were excellent. Both the team member who checked us in and the one that checked us out were very accomodating of our lack of French, they spoke some English and helped us out including with storing bags while we wandered around town waiting for our ferry check in time.

There are no extras in the room like a kettle or tea and coffee facilities, this would definitely be nice to have. The bathroom was tiny and the toilet seat wasn’t fixed properly - but it was all clean and functional and still good value for money with the price and location considered. Just a PSA (not a negative about the hotel itself at all) that it is further than you think from the ferry - the route Apple Maps says to walk isn’t possible and it took us a good 35 minutes or more to walk.

The staff changed our room on arrival as we had lots of bags so they gave us a ground floor family room rather than having to carry the bags up the stairs which was very helpful. It was easy to get to the hotel on foot from the ferry (there were renovations going on so we had to walk further than expected but hopefully they are complete now?) This room was also available to go in earlier than the upstairs room so that was also helpful for us. The room was big enough for the family and comfortable. We cant comment on breakfast as we didn't have it as we needed to leave early in the morning.

I cant remember anything specific to improve - just to note there is no lift to upstairs rooms - if we wanted breakfast buffet it would have been extra but it was only available from 8am which was not early enough for us ( but we were ok with this). My daughters loved the friendly owners dogs but just to note in case any one is allergic.

Conveniently located for the city centre/restaurants etc. and for the ferry. A little old-fashioned, but clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Good continental breakfast. Parking was nearby, and cheap.

Our room had no air-con, and the window opened onto an inner stair-well so little air. Sadly we were there on the hottest night of the year. Not a problem everyone will encounter!

The Moderna has new owners, and they've made some changes for the better. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was tasty. It's close to many restaurants and bars. They had a lockup for my bicycle. I wish them luck in the future.

Nothing really. A mini fridge for the room would be nice. Maybe in time

The location was excellent! Perfect for walking to restaurants, La Cité de La Mer and a walk around the town. Staff very friendly and gave lovely recommendations. Everything made clear on check in

Parking was tricky but free on Sundays so once we got a spot it was all good

Loved the character of this hotel and quirky decor. Staff were exceptionally helpful and helped with storing our bikes. Excellent breakfast and comfortable room.

It's only a small niggle but our room didn't have air conditioning so it was quite warm for sleeping.

Two elder ladies in the reception are so kind and helpful. They are always very happy to answer questions and provided helps such as taxi and restaurant…etc. I am very appreciated. In addition, my room was cleaned much better than I expected every day. Thank you cleaning lady!

Sometimes you can still hear people’s voice who lived in the next room at night.

Fabulous hotel in a great location. Lovely rooms, the owner has great taste! The hotel has a sweet little courtyard in the middle. Exceptionally clean. Good breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been a nice addition. I'd taken a travel kettle so not a problem for us, but worth noting so you can pack accordingly!

The room was spotlessly clean bathroom beautiful staff excellent especially Lydia and Fatima. We were unable to get a taxi from hotel to Ferry Port to get our sailing to Dublin, Fatima very kindly offered to drive us and really saved the day. Thank you so much again Fatima and also to Lydia for coming to our rescue. Terry and Maura Mc Cullough

Great location, perfect cleanliness. Very polite and nice people work here. Yes, you can say that the sound insulation is not ideal. But in fact, it is within the norm. Everything else is great. I recommend.
