The property location can’t be beat. Very walkable to beach, restaurants and shops. Easy to park the car and just enjoy vacation! The staff members were wonderful, super helpful and professional without being stuffy. The hotel is so friendly to pets and the free amenities like kayaks, bikes and paddle-boards saves a lot of money. You don’t feel like you are being nickle and dimed to death like many facilities.

The rooms were clean, but could be a bit cleaner. There was also trash from other guests in stairwells and common areas. Peeling paint in my bathroom and on ceiling. The hotel would be a perfect place if a little more attention was paid to cleanliness and maintenance.

This conveniently located hotel was within walking distance to local attractions and highly rated dining options. It was also just a three minute walk to the pier and beach. The pool was well maintained with plenty of comfortable seating choices and yard games for entertainment. I also took full advantage of the shop inside the lobby, having both the beach essentials and souvenirs. Front desk staff was incredibly kind during check in and offered helpful incite to building our attraction itinerary.

While I loved the concept of paddle boards, kayaks and bikes being included in stay and free for use, I was disappointed that there was no waitlist or system to booking them. All items were “first come first serve” with no way of being notified when items were available.

The location of the hotel was in easy walking distance to everywhere we needed to go and is right across the street to the beach (gulf side). The pool was clean and had a separate sand area for outdoor games along with its own private bay side beach area. The property offered free usage of bicycles, kayaks and paddleboards that were included in our stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The free continental breakfast was very good with a variety of options of hot and cold food. The gift shop was small but had a little bit of everything you want to purchase for souvenirs and was reasonably priced. The rooms were clean and beach themed decorated. The beds were extremely comfortable. Our room came with a microwave, refrigerator and coffee pot and TV. There was also washer and dryers to use on the main floor, we did not use them so i don't know the details. Overall, this is a great place to stay, budget friendly and a great place to spend with your family! We will definitely stay here again!

Breakfast-Delicious, something different every day!! My husband also includes “it was excellent”!! And fresh fruit made available, also bags of ice on request for your daily excursion!! The breakfast attendant was exceptionally nice, she even made your waffles for you, really made you feel at home there.

I was not made aware we needed to request cleaning service on arrival. Our reservation was from Saturday to Monday. On the last day we decided to stay another day so at that point I asked that the room be refreshed. That never happened. By then we were out of toilet paper, we started using the tissue & the conditioner had ran out, I asked for both but no avail it was never replenished. Just one of the desk ladies were rude as heck. I had just asked a simple question of how to get to the private beach and she’s like it’s out back but another much nicer employee came to her rescue and was so polite and got us in the right direction to make use of the bay & the kayaks we requested.

Excellent location on the bay but beautiful beaches right across the street with lots of restaurants within walking distance, very welcoming staff, everyone greeted us during our stay or asked if we needed anything, very comfortable beds and pillows, lots of amenities included like paddle board, kayaks, and bikes. We missed our opportunity for the paddle boards due to wind but available when conditions are good. The best morning breakfast staffer I’ve ever met, she was so busy but still helped everyone and chatting with people as she worked. The rooms are a little older but were very clean and comfortable. We will definitely choose this location again.

Everything was great

The hotel was really nice. It has been updated and it is very clean. The bay is in the back and you can use their kayaks and paddle boards. We weren’t able to because the wind was over 10 mph but it was nice just sitting in the chairs and relaxing. They have free ice so we never even had to leave the hotel to fill our cooler. The public beach is right across the street and walking distance but it’s gets packed quick . We went down to the dog beach with our little fur baby and it was so quiet and peaceful and only 5 minutes away. We enjoyed the dog beach way more than the public beach.

Breakfast, very good. Service at the desk, amazing, Pool, very cosy, Poolservice man, excellent, god bless him, Room, very nice. 10 points are not enough, this motel earns more. Best stay during two weeks in Florida, thank you.😊

Really nothing at all

My group of friends had a fabulous time staying at Surf&Sand during Mardi Gras!!! The hotel is set up with exterior room doors like an older motel with large wrap around porch walkways. Each staff member were extra helpful and friendly. The grounds are kept clean with regular attention. Their lobby is super cute, updated, and clean. The hotel is centrally located with quick access to the streets, the beach, and entertainment. We borrowed some bicycles that Surf&Sand offers to their guests. Everything was great! Surf&Sand will be my new regular place to stay when visiting Pensacola!

Location is wonderful, breakfast biscuits and waffles great, staff is so friendly, helpful ❤️ our 5th year visiting. Look forward to this trip each year and always stay here when in Pensacola. sweet little gem of the island ❤️ keep up the great work and little improvements and details,keeps getting better every visit.

Only thing I recommend needs work is-The soap dispensers in shower and near sink kept to fall off when needing to use, need to check those out they aren't sturdy at all my kids kept dropping them and I would have to hold it still to make stuff come out. It was a pain but just something to point out to fix or change those, they look like they could break very easy and cause injury if not careful. I work in customer service too and that is only thing that stood out as needing to bring up, other than that we love this precious motel and staff!

How convenient it was to get to the beach either side and how we could enjoy bikes, kayaks, &’ paddle boards at no extra charge. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was also nice . Pool was too cold this time around so we didn’t swim much but enjoyed the stay.

Felt like they could do better at cleaning the room. We had some things still on the floor when checked in. (Alcohol bottle &’ cheez it behind the bed) there was sand everywhere but being it was a beach , that wasn’t too disappointing. Was hoping for a heated pool also , thought that was mentioned somewhere but guess not.
