Everything was great until we checked out and discovered we were overcharged for the beach equipment. Luigi, I believe was his name, told our group that each lawn chair was $15 and the umbrella was also $15. To our surprise, our folio was charged $32 for the umbrella rental. Gabby at the front desk said she would have her manager speak with the staff at the beach rental area, and we might receive a credit on my card. We’ll wait and see if the hotel follows through. We feel it’s not good for the staff to quote us one thing and be charged another. We felt it was frustrating to be quoted one price and charged another, and we believe the front desk should have resolved the discrepancy on the spot rather than questioning the issue.

The location close to the port is exceptional and serves as a brilliant base for trips around Ft Lauderdale, Miami and pre cruise. There’s always something to do and to watch. The resort and its huge private beach have a unique atmosphere that makes for a great stay. It’s everything you need and in a perfect relaxing way. We’ve now been four times and don’t look elsewhere when we visit. Immaculate housekeeping and great facilities complement the property and the staff are so welcoming. Thanks to Joan, Jaime, Sarah and the whole family for the hospitality…

It’s all good if you appreciate a homely relaxing place to stay.

I had a delightful stay at this hotel! The views were absolutely stunning—especially watching the cruise ships depart from the beach. It felt like I was living in a postcard! The beds were so incredibly comfortable that I half-expected to wake up in a five-star dreamland, complete with fluffy clouds and breakfast served by unicorns. Overall, everything was great, but I did expect a bit more for the price. It was a pleasant experience, but I think there’s room for improvement to match the premium cost. Maybe a complimentary cocktail served by a friendly parrot? Just a thought! All in all, I left with a smile and a few great memories—just with a little more room for sparkle!

I found the hotel to be quite pricey for what it offered—let's just say my wallet felt lighter than a feather after checking in! Unfortunately, the pool was not clean during my stay, which was disappointing. I half expected to see a family of ducks moving in for a permanent vacation! Additionally, my interaction with the staff was minimal; I only spoke to someone during check-in, which felt a bit like a game of hide-and-seek—except I was the only one seeking. Overall, I expected a better experience given the cost. If I wanted to pay a premium for a lack of service and a questionable pool, I could have just stayed home and let my kids turn the bathtub into a splash zone!

Loved our stay here for three nights - comfortable but a little dated. Rooms were expensive but we were there during spring break. We didn’t realize how far away from everything it was and spent a fortune on Uber (next time we will rent a car.) However, saying that, it is a really cool spot, especially being on the beach. The staff at the poolside bar were wonderful and took really good care of us. The buffet breakfast set us up for the day and again, staff here were awesome. Loved the orchids and the iguana’s. We will come back.

So much. Great place for families with lots of activities and play areas on the grounds. Easy access to a large private beach, a couple places to eat and get drinks.

Would have preferred more or different menu options, and more vegetarian options. After a couple of days we went out for dinner because we were tired of the food choices. Would love if they added a couple of indoor activity areas for rainy days like a game room with board games, puzzles, etc,, and maybe even an arcade. Would have liked more grab and go options in the soda shop for breakfast and lunch.

This resort hotel is superb in every way. We had 5 executive king suites all located close together for our extended family and it was marvelous! The rooms are exceptionally well designed and comfortable with everything you might need. Housekeeping was thorough and invisible. We never saw the housekeepers but miraculously our rooms were always clean and tidy despite that we were often in and out. The restaurants were wonderful whether you wanted fancy dining or casual al fresco, menu items were reasonably priced (better than cheaper not so fabulous places) making it exceptionally family friendly. Service for drinking and dining was excellent (and drinks were never watered down). They even have a complimentary self laundry. We loved the Lago Mar and look forward to going back!

Not a thing - it was excellent in every way.

Staff was very attentive and friendly, especially with my toddler. The park in the middle of the beach is fantastic for the kids as well as the nearby toilettes to change or clean the kids before heading back to the room. The pool was heated during the rainy days and the open restaurant close to the pool let us have food with no need of changing our garments. We would definitely come back.

Room cleanliness was not good when we arrived. Mi little one found food leftovers under the bed as well as some snacks bags :/

I think the breakfast was a little overpriced for kids cereal. But the rest of the food was very good.

Our wifi was very spotty but i'm not sure if that was because of the hurricane. Also when I requested a room through booking.com I had asked to not be on the bottom floor and that we wanted a roll out bed. Neither of those requests we accommodated. I also. Wish we were there under different circumstances.We were evading the hurricane. I would have liked to have been there on vacation but the room did provide relaxation that we needed during such a stressful time.

Beautiful resort in Harbor Beach. We stayed in the executive king suite and it literally was an apartment without a stove! We had everything we needed and lots of coffee was provided. Small sink near microwave, utensils, cups and dishes. Bathroom was huge and very clean. Nice black granite countertops with a tub and a separate shower. Lots of hangers and an in-room safe. Furniture was a bit dated but nicely appointed and comfortable. Pool area very nice with lots of chairs that were comfortable with lots of palm trees and ample shade if desired. It was very clean and was not over clorinated. Adults only pool was very nice but since it was smaller you had to get there early to get a chair. Towels were always available and clean. They have a soda shop and your can purchase small sundries, coffee, etc. Bartenders at the pool bar were very nice and made excellent drinks and the prices were very reasonable. You can also eat lunch and dinner near the pool. Very good ahi poke with fried plantains!! Beautiful private beach and you can rent cabanas, chairs and umbrellas. It was nice that the resort fee is NOT charged unless you use those items. They have hammocks, ping pong tables, slides, swings, fooz ball table, shuffle board, tennis courts and a giant chess game. Very nice resort for families and couples alike. Spa is very nice and not overly pricey. Very good service, excellent value and a very nice resort. So glad we chose to stay at the Lago Mar. 15 minutes from airport so an easy ride share drive.

My only complaint was the bed. While the king was roomy it was too hard but that is a personal preference.

Very charming resort with long history. Beautifully nestled in a residential area and on the beach. Spacious rooms with comfy queen beds. The ambience was exceptional and very courteous staff. The two pools were exceptional, clean and well maintained. A separate one for the adults. There were nice spots to hangout, hammocks and cocktail tiki bar. There was an iguana hanging around the pool area, she used to pay us a visit daily without fail. My daughter named her Flo. We have good memories from this place. It’s definitely worth to come back at least one more time for us

The bathroom was a tad smaller for such a property. There is no shops in the walking distance, however an Uber or LYFT to the Las olas boulevard was only 10 usd, so it’s super convenient to get around.
