I arrived at alicante airport at 2 a.m. so had to spend a night locally. The reception could not have been more friendly and caring, even got a big bottle of iced water 2€. My cheapskate room was nice - no balcony but excellent shower, lighting, clean and comfy bed. You can check out at noon which suited me very well. Downstairs was a really nice looking cafe with locals and I understand the restaurant is pretty good. The town is a real spanish community and everyone helped me with buses and so on. I'm definitely coming back for a proper stay as there is also a dune beach within walking distance for swimming in the Med.

My room had no view but I was there to sleep only really so I didn't mind, I'll request a balcony if I go to stay linger. There were really no taxis from the airport and my booking cancelled twice, once at the last minute. I was really lucky to bump into a freelance taxi driver.

Having been here before, we had no reservations in staying again. We originally chose this property as an overnight stay for an early flight. Using only public transport is OK for us but from our own home, its impossible to get to the airport early. The hotel is basic BUT: very clean, comfortable the staff are helpful and friendly and it is perfectly located on a pleasant street, great for an overnight or a longer, low cost stay in the area. Local buses stop just 100 metres from the front door. With the airport being 7 mins away at just €1.35. The centre of Alicante can be reached in 20 mins. There is also a longer distance service that calls at most towns as far along the coast as Pillar de Horadada. National bus or train services are connected in Alicante. Don't waste your money on corporate, plastic hotels. This hotel is a great place to stay and it delivers a flavour of Spain for far less.

Really comfortable beds, clean and very close to airport so was perfect for an early morning flight Staff were excellent and lots of local amenities. Really enjoyed our quick stay will be using again if ever in the area. Ideal if coming from Benidorm as early taxi can be €70+, We used local Alsa Bus to Airport the got the R10 bus from airport two stops, 5mins, €1.35. There is a regular bus going to the airport too but our flight was a bit too early to use. Hotel arranged taxi no problem at 5am - €14.

No tea and coffee facilities in room, not that it personally bothered me but might do others.

We stayed in this hotel one night, the return flight was early in the morning. The personnel helped to have the taxi, the cost was 18€ to the airport (night shift cost). All worked fine. Near the hotel there were a couple of places to eat, many were closed due to Easter day. Good local atmosphere in the restaurant, good food. We had a long walk (over 3 kms) to the Arenals del Sol beach area. Beautiful dunes on the beach. Back by local bus. After tourist flood of Alicante this smaller place gave a hint of locality.

For a one night stay good value for the money.

Location perfect for proximity to the airport.

Altet is a small community with shops and bars and the Hostel has its own bar for breakfasts and snack meals. Great for overnight stop overs. The best though is the bus service thar runs hourly during the day to the Airport and only takes 7 minutes and costs €1.60 (Dec 2022). The bus stop is less than 300 m from the Hostel entrance.

Arrived at the start of the "Blackout", so it probably isn't fair or right to make any review of facilities etc.. BUT the staff did everything they could to make the best of a very awkward situation. Power resumed at around 22:30 We have stayed here before and are more than happy to say we have always been very pleased with the service, the room, the location and value for money.

Small bathroom in our room this time. Clean and functional but smaller than in our previous stay.

This was my 5th stay at Hostal El Altet. The room was spotlessly clean. Although I had a single room, there was a double shower & double bed - adequate room for an overnight stay.. The Hostal is only 3 storeys, but has a lift, which is a bonus when lugging a suitcase. The staff were very friendly & obliging. I had a meal in the evening - very good & a great breakfast, which the owner gave me earlier than the official breakfast start, as had to leave for the airport. Short taxi ride to the airport, that was called for me. Can't recommend this Hostal highly enough. I'll be back in September.

We were instantly made very welcome by Blas. Our rooms were lovely with balconies overlooking the street and trees outside. Spanish sparrows in abundance in palms and sycamores in street. Hostel El Altet bar/restaurant was lovely. All staff were kind and helpful even with language barrier. Good to stay in non tourist real town with normal life around us. Comfy beds, peaceful rooms, felt welcome. Would have no hesitation staying there again. Thank you to all at Hostal El Altet.

It can't be helped due to it's close proximity to airport but planes taking off were noisy but I got used to this quickly and it didn't bother me.

What we liked: Comfortable beds – we slept well. Simple but acceptable breakfast for the price. Free parking was very convenient.

What could be improved: Although it looked close to the airport on the map, it’s not really walkable. The rooms were very small and felt a bit cramped. Overall, it was a fair value for the price, but keep in mind the limitations if planning to walk from the airport.

Great location, close to the airport, 5 mins in a taxi or there is a bus service, not sure how frequent. Nice staff, room clean. Good breakfast.

Noise between the rooms is an issue, some people were in the corridor outside my room at 03:00, making noise and totally oblivious to sleeping guests. Also there is a lot of street noise and you can hear other guests using showers, toilets etc. The quality of the towels are not great and the beds are not very comfortable.
