We were immediately made very welcome by Chris and Louise. Our room was luxurious, with a comfortable king-size bed, well-equipped bathroom and glorious views across town. An exceptional breakfast added to our enjoyment. We also appreciated the plentiful space for parking and enjoyed the beautiful gardens.

It's not their fault but road access to Bryn Mair is quite challenging due to the narrowness of Dollgellau's streets. Thank goodness we had the benefit of Chris's six photos to guide us, plus parking-support beepers on our car to avoid scratching the sides.

Stayed for a couple of days in Dolgellau as I was up with my mountain bike and needed somewhere that had secure bike storage which the Bryn Mair had plus it had car parking but this could be tricky if there were a lot of people wanting to park as space would be limited. Really happy with my choice of B&B, Chris was a great host, the room was really nice and the bed comfy and a really nice breakfast. A nice little fridge on the landing to keep the fresh milk for brews. All in all, highly recommended and I'm sure I will be back. Many thanks Chris 👌👍

There wasn't anything to not like, I was really happy with my choice.

Good central location. Warm and cozy for a winter visit. Spacious room, very comfortable large bed and a sofa to relax on. Wonderful view from the window. Also a splendid private shower! Very quiet and the lights across the valley are lovely at night. Good breakfast cooked to order. Very friendly and helpful hosts!

We are used to narrow, steep, Welsh streets and we followed our host's excellent instructions, not sat-nav, so arrived easily. We advise doing the same, as the appoach to the house is narrow and rather steep. If in doubt, park in the centre and walk up first. It is really worthwhile when you get there!

We had a wonderful stay. The host Chris was extremely helpful and welcoming on arrival and throughout our stay. The views from the property were extensive and has a lovely garden. The property is very convenient for the village centre. Very comfortable room and bed. The breakfast was good with nice sized portions. With self service cereals toast and fresh orange juice and a cooked breakfast option, which was freshly prepared. Loved the view from the breakfast table. Both Louise and Chris were very Friendly. Highly recommended and will come again.

Beautiful old house on a hillside above the town, very stylishly decorated, warm and comfortable. Views of the valley and the hills from the windows are spectacular and the large garden is interesting to wander round with plenty of cosy corners to enjoy your morning coffee or watch the sunset . The hosts were lovely and welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. Only a short cycle from the Traws Eryri Cycle trail and the beautiful Mawdach estuary and 15 minutes drive from Co-ed y Brenin Forest Park so it was a perfect location for me.

The property is conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the town centre and has parking. Bryn Mair is attractive on the outside and inside and is immaculate. There’s a communal lounge available to relax in if needed. My room was spacious, and well equipped, with a settee too. Towels were thick and soft (I loathe “cardboard” towels) - so really happy. Choice of breakfast, which should suit all tastes, and time to take it. Early breakfast (7:30) if needed, a real bonus if you have a long day in the mountains ahead, or a long trip home (So annoying to have to hang around in some places until 9:00 for breakfast and watch daylight ticking by ..) Host friendly but not intrusive. I felt welcomed and able to ask questions or for anything IF I’d needed to but to be honest everything had been thought of. I was made welcome and invited to use full use of the property and garden. Please take note of the arrival directions and photos provided by host- they are detailed but essential.

Everything was good

We stayed here for a few days at the end of June 2024. This was our second stay in the local area as part of visits to the Mach Loop. The location is great with superb views over the local town and some stunning gardens. The hosts Chris and Louise were very friendly and.hospitable. Accommodation is comfortable, spacious and clean. Breakfast cooked to perfection and very tasty “perfect runny eggs :-)”. The location is only a few minutes walk to the local town square with a good choice of bars and restaurants. Overall excellent and I would not hesitate to stay again. If you are into mountain bickering are an aircraft buff wanting to visit the Mach Loop then is a great location to stay.

The welcome we received from Chris was lovely, he showed us around and explained where things were. Our room overlooked the garden that was very pretty, with great views across the valley, the room itself was very spacious and comfortable, spotlessly clean, our private bathroom had a very good shower, plus the wifi worked well. The breakfast room also had great views, the choice of breakfast was good, with a nice variety, fruit, cereal, toast plus cooked options. If you do stay at Bryn Mair, and I hope you do, please follow the directions Chris sends you, do not follow your satnav because the roads around the property are very narrow. If we are ever in the area, we will definitely stay again without a doubt.

Absolutely nothing

The breakfast was very good, parking was very good.The hosts were very friendly.The location was close to local amenities.Thre main bedroom was very Spacious and very well furnished.

We were not provided with a key to get in the main door.This led to us being locked out of our rooms with no access.we were not advised that the host would not be in Although we were assured on our first arrival the outer door would be left open. A key should be provided to guests so they can come and go as they please and not feel guilty if they come in a little late. The sink in the bathroom was too small OK for washing hands only.

Good location, close to the centre of Dolgellau. Good communication from our host Chris. Spacious room, we had a private bathroom across the hall, not what we expected, but worked out well. Very comfortable room with tea and coffee tray with fresh milk. Comfortable bed, we both had a good night's sleep. Breakfast consisted of cereal, juice, fruit and toast and a choice of either croissant, a pancake, shakshuka or bacon, sausage and eggs.

There was a large standing mirror in the room, rather difficult to use when trying to dry my hair, would be better if this was a hanging mirror.
