This is a beautiful tranquil setting that is such a blessing in today’s busy world. Staying here with improved amenities would bring back the peace and relaxation to one’s soul that travel often wears away. Lovely.

It was a shame that the restaurant was closed and the area around it abandoned. It might be nicer if the restaurant supplies were stored inside the building somewhere without traffic perhaps the kitchen? And the outdoor furniture arranged to accommodate the visitors who would greatly enjoy gathering outside in the deck. Having the pool and hot tub functional would be an extreme bonus for summertime. Pool could be covered according to weather, but hot tub could be useable well into colder whether.

The renovated rooms were very nice. They are simple but clean which is most important to me! Just wish they had a closet or even a single hook to hang my dress for my event on! I’m happy there was a fridge and microwave in the room!

Originally we were booked in the older room and it did not feel clean. The room is very dated and the tub had stains. I’m thankful we were given an upgrade to the renovated room because I don’t think I would have stayed.

I love everything about this property! This is an amazing family or single place to stay. I feel like it needs more exposure as the grounds are magical with waterfalls on the creek running under the old train car restaurant, meadows for frolicking and or meditating, plenty of room to find privacy to relax and so much more. Come on families let’s show up here and bring back the energy I’m sure was here when people still did this kind of vacation with their kids! I love the Great Northern Queen in gold country!

The hotel is really cute - a stream and waterfall going through the property, onsite restaurant, and a nice path to the railroad museum. Really peaceful. The staff were nice and informative. The room was a good size and clean. It's a short drive to downtown Nevada City.

The facilities are a bit older and could use an update, but this was not a problem because the reasonable price. Breakfast is just basically a gas station breakfast but it's nice that it's available.

There was lots of bad reviews but that was not my experience. stayed in the chalet part of the inn. It was clean, quaint, quiet. The room was clean and stocked with essentials. Didn't realize there was a patio with a creek outside. Super nice. The young lady who checked me in and out was very lovely, she also helped me with a wine key. Will definitely be back. Thank you for your kind hospitality!

Beautiful grounds, the staff were amazing!!!!

The first night we stayed in a lesser room… it was tired and not too comfortable. However, the next night we booked through the Inn and got a renovated room and the bed was so much more comfortable! Love this location and again the staff worked with us extremely well because we needed a few xtra pillows. We will stay here again!

Very inexpensive. And it is in a lovely location . There was coffee, muffins, granola bars and cuties offered as a complimentary breakfast. It wasn’t much but it got us on the road. The staff were very nice.

We changed rooms because the bathroom door was stuck open. We three people are friends not family so we asked for a room switch . It was a bit of a hassle . Then the second room had a broken fridge and was in general disrepair . The fridge came on later at night.

Management was confused. The cleaners were not told to clean my room - I reminded the office staff but nothing was done. We were in and out and every time I would have to get a new key. It was like I was not in their computer. There was a $20.00 resort fee but the pool was empty, no outdoor seating or playground. - Not sure about “Resort Fees”

No breakfast. Room was spacious, comfortable. Check in is at three. I arrived a bit early, and even though my assigned room was ready, I was informed that I would be charged an extra "early" fee if I chose. I waited. The biggest problem was wi-fi access. When I raised this with staff, they simply said, "We have weak internet access." That was that.

Weak, intermittent wi-fi.

The location and room size were very nice. I also liked the close proximity to the outdoor railroad museum.

The person checking us in didn't even get out of her seat to greet us. I didn't get a very professional impression and felt that she was just going through the motions. Her colleague; however, was very friendly and welcoming.
