Afternoon clerk after 3pm on Saturday, Nov. 11th, was WONDERFUL. Helped get me checked in, accommodated parking, changed a light bulb in the room, etc. He could not have been more nice and helpful. HOWEVER, SEE BELOW ABOUT MIDDAY CLERK.

I tried to stop by midday on Saturday, Nov. 11th, not to check in early, but to leave my car when entering town and taking the VT tour. I waited at the desk. No one came for 30 minutes so I left and called twice, leaving messages. Came back two hours later. No one came in the 20 minutes I remained at the desk. Left another voicemail after that time. Still no call back. Clerk's keys were on the counter but no response at all from the clerk midday. The VERY helpful clerk AFTER 3pm said when he arrived on his shift all 3 voicemails were still on the machine and then he helped me tremendously. Midday staff response was VERY lacking. They were absolutely not staffing the front desk and not responding to any calls.

The room was very clean, bed was super comfortable and the location was perfect. The Inn is in downtown Blacksburg and there is just a short walk to shops and restaurants.

There is a coffee station on the main floor and it was well stocked. My only complaint would be that the staff may need to check on water pitchers more often to ensure that guests don't have to find a place to fill them.

The Inn provided a lovely atmosphere with very friendly, helpful staff and convenient location to everything including direct access to parking lot behind building for those traveling with car which is important particularly in an area without a lot of parking.

The Inn seems a little behind on maintenance, multiple light bulbs were out in the room, a towel rod was off alignment and didn't really work, all minor items that didn't hinder our stay too much, but still probably should be addressed.

Great location, friendly staff. Suite style room would be nice with more people.

Very few and dim lights on light switches. Plenty of lamps, but a pain to come home to a dark room. Suite style room is no larger than a standard hotel room, but moves the bathroom to the middle of the space. Sitting room dark with no windows, so spent all my time in the bedroom area. The bedroom area is just a bit larger than the bed. No view (side of another building), but I would have had the shades closed anyway. Minimal public facilities (no gym, etc) but not a problem with how much walking I always do in Blacksburg.

Just observations that did not negatively impact my stay but others might want to know: Walls seem a bit thin regarding sound (I realize this is out of management's control), Another guest was looking for help with parking in the evening and the front desk was not staffed, Cable/TV didn't seem to have upgraded signal service.

Very clean, loved the location, the staff were very friendly. My only kinda of complaint would be who ever cleaned my room midweek was a smoker and I could smell it even at 7:30 pm when I got back.

Their only ice machine was broken.

very convenient location just a few minutes walk to Virginia Tech campus. on site sheltered parking. many restaurants close by. very comfortable bed, beautiful bed linens. all rooms like mini suites with sitting room and bed room. best value dollar for dollar in town by far. spotlessly clean.

i liked everything and have no negative comment. I will say that even though they offer coffee in the lobby and in the room one possible improvement might be to offer breakfast. but, since there is a coffee maker in the room and a refrigerator and a microwave and since Our Daily Bread bakery and a big Kroger are nearby it is possible to have everything you might want for breakfast in your room ready when you are.

Close walking proximity to Virginia Tech campus and onsite parking.

The very inflated price for parents weekend. I understand the hotels in the area would like to cash in on these weekends throughout the year but triple or more the price, not so kind. The toiletries can be improved to a brand name of some sort.

Location was great in center of town and proximity to VT campus. Like that coffee is available in lobby and parking pass for garage parking.

No gym and can be a bit noisy with main traffic

Great location for attending basketball or football games as its an easy walk to the stadium or arena.

When I tried to check out there was no staff member at the desk. After waiting about 10 minutes I just left.
