Great architecture - great place to chill an relax Stunning views - good breakfast
The hotel allows day guests (apparently neighbours and friends of the Management) - and even though it is an „adult only“ hotel a child was there jumping and screaming around the pool area - this is something we did not expect

The food was always freshly prepared and delicious! The iced ginger and lemongrass tea, which is on the house, was the best drink we had in Zanzibar!! The room was beautifully styled, and the outdoor shower was such a wonderful experience! On top of all of this, the hotel staff were always super friendly, kind and polite! We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you to the Kizikula team!
The only thing we didn't like was that the staff were terrorised by the owner's 4 big dogs. The dogs physically attacked some staff members, barking, running at them, and jumping towards their faces, which is terrifying. Nobody should have to be scared at work. These dogs definitely need to be trained to see the hotel staff as family. If I had kids, I wouldn't feel safe around these dogs either.

I enjoyed by stay at Kizikula , I don't think any other resort can compare and I have been to a few! I especially loved the design, intelligent, simple and yet timeless - there was a visual harmony that reverberated throughout the entire location, Kizikula is the place - the food was fresh and well prepared, everything was excellent! The facilities were great, I felt there were several things to do and it was the right mix of interesting places to sit - I haven't seen this intentionality in design anywhere else.
The checkin process could have been done faster - I had to wait for almost an hour for my room to be ready - checkin is at 3pm, I arrived at 4pm and my room was not ready until 5pm.

The grounds are amazing, with loads of little spots to nestle. Stunning pool. One of the best breakfasts we had through the entire trip. Beautiful rooms with loads of little extra details. Friendly, welcoming staff. Loads of day time equipment at your disposal, goggles, paddle boards, snorkels, masks, bats and balls etc. which means you are never bored! The view of the sunset is just spectacular- we made memories there we will always cherish.
Lunch and dinner were their only down fall. Providing one normal and one vegetarian option for dinner is such a shame for a high end establishment like this, as well as only giving you the option of a three course dinner menu as standard. Their prices were also more than double anywhere else on the island. There are however two really good restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk. The night we did eat there, the food was fantastic - so it’s a shame!

What a phenomenal stay at Kizikula! From the warmest, friendliest staff to the stunning location, mouthwatering cuisine, and a variety of exceptional activities, it truly exceeded every expectation. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. Nestled in the most tranquil and idyllic setting, Kizikula is a slice of paradise. The staff made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived and were always one step ahead with thoughtful touches like refreshments, water, and delicious meals. Their impeccable attention to detail made us feel completely at ease throughout our stay. The days were filled with pure bliss—lounging by the serene pool, watching the sun dip below the horizon over the Indian Ocean, and marveling at the star-studded night sky. Whether it was paddleboarding, bike riding, or simply soaking in the peaceful ambiance, there was always something to enjoy in this luxurious yet inviting environment. The accommodation was nothing short of extraordinary. Beautifully designed with comfort and elegance in mind, every space radiated warmth and character. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the outdoor shower—taking a refreshing rinse under the stars on a balmy summer evening was a magical, unforgettable experience. We didn’t want to leave and would return in a heartbeat. Kizikula has set the bar impossibly high for any future travel—an absolute must-visit destination!
That we had to leave

If I could give more than 10, Kizikula would deserve it. Everything was excellent, starting from the staff (Nema, Liam, Said, Enouck, to name a few) who made our stay unforgettable. But also the location, the services, the food, the music selection, the cleanliness, and the attention to every detail. Everything was excellent and beyond our expectations. It's a special place, perfect for those seeking peace and relaxation. The pool is among the most beautiful we've ever seen, and we didn't mind the lack of a beach or the phenomenon of the tides at all.
Absolutely nothing

The first thing you notice about Kizikula is that it is well and truly hidden. There are no signs on the road and you when you do finally get there you feel that you have arrived at an exclusive hideaway. From the moment you arrive, the staff are extremely welcoming. From that moment on you feel like you are their most important guest. The food (especially the breakfast and lunch) was fantastic, with loads of local produce, fresh fruit and juices. I also liked that the staff were regularly offering us water to drink. The location is fantastic. I loved relaxing on one of the sheltered sun loungers looking out at the gorgeous view. And then there is the pool... a huge (and very deep!) granite lined beauty. Last, but absolutely not least, there are the rooms. The design, the attention to detail, the comfort - it was of such a high standard.
I liked everything. There was nothing to dislike.

The hotel was am absolute paradise and the staff was extremely friendly
We enjoyed our stay overall, but were a bit disappointed with the lack of variety on the lunch and dinner menu. Being located right next to a fishing village, we had hoped to see more fresh fish featured during the week. While the menu did include squid and shrimp, there was no fish offered at all throughout our stay. We do appreciate that the restaurant sources its ingredients locally and buys daily from the fishermen—so if no fish is caught, none is served. That’s understandable and even commendable from a sustainability perspective, but it would have been nice to see at least some fish options during the week, especially given the location.

Kizikula is a stunning resort nestled in a tranquil, off-the-beaten-path area of Zanzibar. My wife and I chose this destination for our honeymoon, and it was nothing short of perfection. After months of hectic planning and work, we were seeking a truly relaxing getaway—and Kizikula delivered exactly what we needed. Our days were beautifully lazy, spent lounging by the expansive pool with refreshing cocktails in hand. When we felt adventurous, the helpful staff eagerly assisted us in organizing activities like reef snorkeling, adding variety to our restful retreat. The staff truly set Kizikula apart. From our late-night arrival onwards, every team member went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. Special recognition goes to Shaib, Enock, Deo, Mary, and Diana for their constant attentiveness. Noris's bubbly personality and Sahid's exceptional service in coordinating our activities were particularly memorable. Culinary experiences were a delight. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring delicious and ever-changing local delicacies. While the lunch menu remained consistent, the food quality never wavered. Dinners offered flexibility between the lunch menu and an excellent set menu. The sesame bread served most evenings was simply irresistible. We loved exploring the oceanfront during low tide, venturing out with rock shoes to discover the marine landscape. Evening paddle board sessions offered the perfect way to unwind, watching breathtaking sunsets from the water. Our honeymoon at Kizikula was the epitome of an idyllic escape. To the entire team: thank you for creating such an unforgettable experience.

All the staff are absolutely amazing, special shout out to all the bar staff and Enoch they really made us feel soo welcome! This boutique hotel is beautifully designed, simple but tasteful and if you want to relax and recharge the batteries the perfect place. Also the locally sourced food is super tasty. We really loved our stay and hope to be back again soon.
Everything was perfect really if there was one small thing it would be that the paths in and around the property at night are super dark. So a few more path lights or even torches in the room would help!
