I know what you are thinking. How is it the Crown has nothing but 10s but only 10 reviews as of this writing. Is it new? seems suspicious. So you check g-map reviews and find that it has been around for few years and has good reviews. so even more suspicious about their booking account. Well don't be. The booking account reset recently (had a 9.5 across 400+ reviews) due to technicality. This place is an absolute oasis in Cario. A prior review said it best in that finding a place like this is a special treat when traveling. Youssef, the owner, is completely obsessed with cleanliness and order. You will not find a single deficiency and there are countless little details missing in other hotels. It feels like it opened yesterday. He even went so far as to have a second internet provider for backup given the Cairo network shortcomings. The building is older but extremely charming with boutique stores on some floors and yes the elevator is awesome. The location perfect. He also somehow managed to find two of the nicest people in the whole of Cairo to manage the hotel in his absence. Salma and Kareem are amazing to sit around and chat with. Two other wonderful staff complete the team. Do not hesitate booking here due to the low number of reviews on this site. I only wish the previous reviewers had also explained this as I know I tend to book established places. I threw caution to the wind and took a chance despite my scepticism but it is absolutely deserving of straight 10s. A very special place and team. Those who follow me, please confirm!

absolutely nothing. its perfect as is.

Spent 8 nights at Crown with my teenage daughters, and it was a lovely stay! The staff was young and friendly, especially Ahmed. He gave us useful tips and recommendations, and if we missed breakfast due to an early day trip, he'd surprise us in the evening with desserts and refreshments. He even helped get our laundry cleaned after a desert trip. Always ready to help but never intrusive – and he was the only person in Egypt who didn’t accept tips! The area felt safe and was also very accessible (if there’s such a thing in Cairo). It was relatively quiet, except when Salah played for Liverpool—then the neighbourhood came alive! The building itself may be early 20th-century European—you could politely call it "faded grandeur", but I loved its style. The iron cage vintage lift was charming, though if you’re not into adventures, you can take the stairs to the third floor, where the hotel is located. The other floors are occupied by local businesses with friendly owners, which added to the place’s character. Really enjoyed the atmosphere here! Would definitely recommend it.

The staff at Crown Hotel went above and beyond to meet our needs and expectations. We arrived early in the morning before our room was ready, and the staff allowed us to use a different room to freshen up and use the bathroom. We left our luggage at the hotel during the day before our room was ready. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable, with many small touches. There is even a small balcony off of the rooms. The heat was much appreciated overnight in December, and there were additional blankets and pillows should we have needed them. There was a fridge and the staff gave us waters upon arrival. In a sea of questionable reviews and false advertising for Cairo Hotels, Crown Hotel did provide a great service for a great value. The rooms were per the description and the staff were very helpful. I would stay here again.

Everything was great.

Amazing stay at this wonderful hotel! The staff went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable. Special thanks to Youssef, Nourhan, and Marian for their kindness and exceptional service. They also organized fantastic tours for us to explore Cairo and Giza, making everything so easy and stress-free. The location is perfect, close to all major attractions, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The breakfast served in the room was delicious and a great way to start the day. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Cairo

I would like to thank all the hotel staff for the wonderful welcome. We felt like family from the first moment. I especially want to mention Ahmed Alshi, who was a wonderful friend throughout my stay. He made sure I felt at home and even worried about me in the evening - this just shows how much attention and care was put into my stay. I also want to mention that the maids were truly amazing and took care of my every need. Although it is a pity that I cannot speak Arabic, it did not diminish my experience at all - everyone was very kind and helpful. I experienced so many good emotions that I even decided to come back here soon. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

its just ben shot holiday

Family feel, friendly staff, like to help. Kindly provided little gifts such as free dessert brought to room, coffee offered after returning from sightseeing, I stayed for the location to walk to the main train station as well as many other things but Reception called Uber for me to go to the station, very convenient. Very nice breakfast delivered to room. Hotel is in Old heritage style building, entrance feels old with old style lift, but always people down stairs to help and the floor where hotel is is nicely decorated.

Booking.com said all rooms have balcony and view but my single room had only small window to a wall and no natural light, also cigarette smell, maybe from street below.very small shower/toilet if that's an issue. the second day I was upgraded to a nice larger room with 3 windows. No restaurant if that's an issue.

Small 1-floor budget hotel located in downtown Cairo, convenient to catch an uber or go to the ATM a block away. It is located on the third floor but there is a small elevator so no stairs needed thankfully. Also, I came late in the night from my flight, and there was someone to check me in and offer a free welcome juice drink. The internet was decent. The breakfast was delivered to my room and of surprisingly good quality. Bed was pretty comfortable.

Not really within the management's control, but water pressure was very weak during daytime. There is a nearby mosque that started announcing the morning prayers at 430 AM in addition to traffic and dogs barking nearby, so I recommend wearing ear plugs to sleep.

Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Similar breakfast platter to others I’ve had in Egypt, but this came with more fresh fruit, fresh juice, it was lovely. Hotel staff were so accommodating and helpful. They gave us recommendations for the area, extra drinks and water when we asked, and assisted us with anything we asked about. Service was 10/10. This place is probably the best we could get in Cairo without booking a 5* hotel.

Room was a bit dated and Egyptian beds are more solid than we were used to. However, it met our needs well and compared to a couple of stays in Egypt, this was by far the best experience.

Located at downtown Cairo and like in the center of all attractions. You can reach old egypt museum and Khan el-Khalili bazaar by foot. Short taxi ride to Muhammad Ali Mosque. Close to highway to Giza. It is also a bank district so lots of ATMs around. Very friendly staff and nice clean rooms in the 3rd floor (there is a lift) of a magnificent 19th century building. Located in a side road and so enough distance to traffic. Sanitary facilities clean and working fine. Highly recommended.

We wandered in after a long Nile cruise, and Ahmed greeted us with chilled water and an ice-cold mango mocktail. The hotel’s literally a 7-minute walk (about 400 yd) from the Egyptian Museum, so dead handy for sightseeing. Our room was spacious with two balconies, proper soundproofed so didn’t hear a peep of city noise. Staff even let us stash our bags after checkout while we nipped over to Khan el-Khalili (only a 25-minute stroll), no extra charge.
