The room was clean and the decorations and all the fittings were really very nice. The room was about a foot too narrow and so to get from one side to the other (wardrobe and dressing table on one side the shower room on the other) you had to squeeze through a narrow gap being careful not to knock the TV off the wall. Obviously there was nothing the owners could do about that when they refurbished, and I congratulate them on what they have done, and I would stay again.

The dining is too pretentious - even breakfast has Irish Whisky in the porridge (they leave it out if you ask) but one longed for a far simpler menu doing the basics really well. Most hotels might offer Egg Benedict here they have Irish Potato Cakes with Bacon, Poached Egg and Hollandaise Sauce. Hmmm, didn't work - stodgy. At Dinner it is the same thing, Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms has a stuffing (leek mainly) so powerful it kills the delicate flavour of the mushroom. Sad. The steak I had was excellent but I asked them to leave off everything else and just serve it with a salad. Keep it simple would be my advice.

Well placed for the ferry. Lovely view from the room window. Room was a good size and well equipped. Dinner in the evening was very good and the gluten free choice for my wife was very welcome.

Noisy air conditioning unit immediately outside the bedroom window disturbed my wife through the night. The bathroom also had an unpleasant odour which we countered by buying a 'freshner' from the local supermarket. The TV remote control was missing. Breakfast, whilst good, was a little lacking in choice and the cooked element took a very long time to be served.

Breakfast was good with self service for cereals and toast etc, I had poached eggs one day and 'full English breakfast another day which wasn't good the fried egg was dry and the bacon overcooked, baked beans served in a separate bowl were lukewarm. There was selection of fresh fruit and flavoured yogurts though no plain yogurt. Fruit juice was by order along with tea or coffee. We were an exception staying three nights as most guests stopover to catch the ferry. We enjoyed our stay and the room at the attic level was spacious with nice view over the ferry port. The bath was a bonus for me as too many places only have a shower, though the bath didn't have a shower to rinse down after bathing. Would recommend the evening menu which is quite varied and occasionally there is a 'specials board'. The staff were great.

No shower attachment for the bath

Lovely former village local pub, rescued and skilfully and tastefully rebranded as a B&B and restaurant. I think the staff - some of whom were very young and new to it - were kinder and more helpful than I’ve ever encountered anywhere. Absolutely matchless location at the heart of the village overlooking Fishguard Bay, ideal for relaxing on Goodwick sands, walking the beautiful Pembrokeshire cliff paths, and visiting Ireland on the ferry - all of which we did in our time there. Lovely room with a sea view, given the choice of whether you wanted the room making up or not.

Nothing to dislike.

This gem of a place is literally a block away from the train station (where we came in), and walking distance to the ferry (where we left), so no need for a car. The food was AMAZING (we're both vegetarian and they had a lovely vegan menu for dinner and breakfast). The room was comfortable with a wonderful view. The people were as friendly as can be. We were only passing through, but we enjoyed this brief stay so much that my husband and I are talking about taking a long weekend here in the future.

Breakfast and dinners were excellent, staff was great. Had a good location to store bikes.

Bed was dated and not comfortable. Staff provided a mattress topper which improved comfort. They did make mention that new beds had been ordered. Hallways and staircases are narrow and windy, not a good location for someone with mobility challenges or lots of luggage.

We were put in rooms next door which is actually the harpy and acer, Paid parking very close by, It is very close to the ferry port if you are waiting for a ferry, or some one of it. It is close to the sea, shops, petrel station and the Ocean Lab Aquarium: Sea-Life Centre. A bar just down stairs that does meals. The bedfast is reasonable for the price.

We were put in rooms next door which is actually the harpy and acer, There was dust but it was hidden behind the bed. The major problem was the the shelves are screwed into the wardrobe, which makes them hard to move if you drop something down there. I had a major operation using my torch to get my things that had fallen there. The rooms are not very sound proof can hear next doors TV. The cups in the room are very small if they want to use them they should provide a teapot as well. Says there is a garden in the advert but I did not notice one, The food is ok suitable for the price the bacon was very hard.

The breakfast was amazing, the hotel was lovely and clean, and the bar and restaurant were nice with great food. The staff were delightful and very helpful. I would definitely stay again

My elderly mother had to climb lots of stairs to her room, I should have made more of a point to mention this at the booking stage and request a different option. The staff couldn't help on arrival as they were booked out. This isn't a reflection of the hotel or staff, who were delightful.

Beautiful location, just above the port of Fishguard, with glorious views of the Pembrokeshire Coast. Comfortable bed and bathroom and fish shop just over the road. Breakfast was relaxed and delicious in a beautiful room and the staff were helpful and very accommodating. Nice little beer garden next to the car park to wait for check in at the Port to begin or for those waiting for trains at the nearby station. Lovely scenic walks to do in the interim, also.

The accommodation was entered from around the side of the pub, which required an incline and steps to be negotiated. Staff member did help us in with our bags, but did not tell us about the tricky switch on the kettle, which needed a later demonstration for us before we could use it. The blinds also required a little help, which she did provide. There was a paying car park for day time parking, but this was not expensive.

Spacious room and very comfortable bed with lovely view over the bay. Staff were very friendly and food was excellent. It was very convenient for the ferry.

There were a lot of stairs up to our room and had we been staying more than one night would have been difficult to carry cased up as we are in our 70s. The hall stairs and landing were shabby and the banisters very dirty and sticky. The dining room and our rooms were very clean and tidy.
