The owner was really friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean, neat, and modern. The place has great views of the Ohio River.

Upon arrival at check-in: the check-in clerk was busy as the bartender for a busy Friday night. Her concern was getting the customers served their drinks then a guest arriving wanting to check in to their rooms. Finally, the owner checked us in after waiting for over 15 minutes. The swimming pool has rules posted for no-alcohol, no glass bottles, and no-smoking. These were ignored basically. We went swimming and had one lady who would smoke several times plus drinking beer in a glass bottle. Nothing like swimming and smelling second hand smoke.

Fantastic location overlooking the Ohio River, and less than a minute from historic Madison. Quaint facilities, well maintained and spotlessly clean! Lovely, helpful staff, personable proprietor/barkeep. Great deck where guests enjoy each other’s company, good drinks, great live music, and river barges sailing by under the bridge to Kentucky. Just a great, great place!

The room could use a comfortable chair, which I think could easily fit with a slight rearrangement of the dresser/armoire.

I loved the views - both from the French Quarters building and from the main building. The Inn sits right on the Ohio River and has a lawn that sweeps down. Our last night, we got a cocktail at the bar and sat out on the deck of the main building. It was very tranquil! The staff was very friendly and willing to help with anything we needed. Our room was very clean, and I really liked the bedding, and the towels were so soft!

Based on the online pictures, it was hard to tell what our room was going to look like exactly. Our room was in the French Quarters building; it wasn't dirty or uncomfortable, but perhaps a bit more minimal than I was expecting. The French Quarters building is basically cinder block, so the room has a different "feel" to it. The TV is a smart TV, but you have to sign in with your own accounts to watch anything. Some accounts were already signed in, but I wasn't sure if these were accounts from the Inn or from past guests. Since we were staying more than 1 night, it would have also been nice to have an extra washcloth or hand towel.

Breakfast was acceptable. The grounds are very nice. The outdoor deck and outside structures are very enjoyable with really nice views of the river and surrounding area. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower worked well. The location was very good for us as everything we were doing while there was at that end of town.

The sink and bathroom area is really cramped and not very well lit. The A/C is really loud and right next to the bed making it a bit difficult to sleep.

Across from the river and bridge. Nice view. Food truck on Fridays and Saturdays if you don’t feel like going out every night. Live music every Friday and Saturday nights until 10. Nice bar inside for drinks. The young man behind the bar has a great personality and was always willing do anything he could to help us.

The shower was very tiny, but we didn’t spend much time in there! Saw the owners one day…not friendly at all. The rest of the staff was great.

The staff was absolutely amazing! Booking made several errors on our reservation, and the staff spent a LOT of time making sure our trip went smoothly. More, they were welcoming and hugely thoughtful throughout! For a large family gathering, being able to rent several rooms together and use the balconies to gather was perfect! The rooms are not fancy but are spacious and clean. The proximity to downtown Madison allowed us to easily walk to town to enjoy the fun of Madison. The view of the river and the music at night made memories. It was a great trip due to the staff and place!

The showers were very small and a bit hard to use.

The deck and seating facing the river is wonderful! The view is amazing and we could sit there for quite a while just watching people and the River. The live music and the food truck was a plus. We didn’t utilize it but they will provide transportation via golf cart.

Our room was a little smaller than we would have liked but it was ok. We had a “pool view” room. It was fine but for us, the River view would have been better. We chose the pool room because it was less expensive but we didn’t realize how much smaller the room was. Again, we did just fine, it wasn’t terrible.

We loved the back deck! Came with a giant Connect 4 game, Tiki Ring Toss, tons of rocking chairs and even live music! We took a tour of Madison on a golf cart. The artwork everywhere was amazing! Zac was great and very personable to us all. Makes a good long Island iced tea too! The owner and every staff member we came in contact with were helpful and truly seemed to love their jobs! That makes a huge difference! Would definitely book there again!

The bed was SO comfortable - it was super soft, yet not hard on the back. Breakfast was good. We upgraded to a suite when we arrived because there wasn't enough seating for us in the standard room. Definitely with the upgrade price for the size and comfort of the room. Gorgeous location by the river and the bridge; beautiful deck, with both covered and open space; Easy walk into nice historic small town.

Didn't bother us, but the suites are on the second floor with only stairs. Wish the pool had been open.

We were visiting Madison for its historical importance and I feel that the Riverboat Inn fits right in with this genre. The buildings are older with concrete stairs leading to the second floor. The room was simply decorated but it was very clean. Even though we didn't get a view of the river, we could go on the deck off the lounge area and enjoy the view. The breakfast was simple grab and go, but it was adequate.

The bed was a little too stiff. Also, felt the room could be laid out better to accommodate two queen size beds.
