Lovely hosts at this hotel. Booked for an overnight stay & everything we needed was available. Suitable for business or leisure stay. A quiet seating area with the bar to have a choice of red or white before our meal. Excellent prepared food - breakfast & evening meal. Menu, smallish but provided enough to cater for a preference of diet. Hotel is being renovated by the hosts and mostly done, as far as I could see. Lovely, clean rooms & bedding. Uncluttered room, lovely prints on fresh walls, double bed room. Good shower, car park at the hotel. Helpful, cheery and efficient staff.

This was in a lovely quiet part of town, it was spotless, all the staff were so lovely, helpful, respectful. The room was lovely bathroom looked brand new, we had a lovely place to stay while at a local festival (camping is not for me🤣) and the price was amazing for the amazing condition and quality of the room and all extras included! Will definitely be using this next time if we’re staying in Wellingborough again!

The window lock was previously broken but as we didn’t have our children with us this was not an issue for us

Breakfast was delicious, cooked well and enough choice to satisfy. Evening meal also superbly cooked, enough range , although not a huge menu, something to suit for everyone. The owners were friendly, courteous & professional.- lovely family. Nothing too much trouble. Will recommend & book again if in the area. Hosts gradually renovating whole hotel. My sister & I booked a double bed room each & then had to unexpectedly book for another night - different double rooms but still all good. Good car parking. & shower. Thank you

My mother in law sadly died very unexpectedly and we found ourselves needing to dash to Wellingborough and in need of accommodation for a couple of nights. I confess we booked the Columbia more because of availability than because it was our first choice - but we ended up being really pleased that we ended up there! The location was really convenient for the town center, but nicely out of the way and so quite quiet. Our room with spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The manager was aware of our sad situation and was very understanding that we needed some space and for everything to just be really easy for us. We weren't sure if we'd need to bolt on another night, but he reassured us that we could make the decision in the morning. All in all it was a good place to stay during a very emotional time and very reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area.

The room and bed were very comfortable, with brilliant white sheets and duvet, The shower was hot and powerful, with fluffy white towels, and free shampoo and shower gel. The breakfast was amazing. Two each of bacon, eggs, sausages, and hash browns, and a large flat mushroom, with a side order of baked beans, Fruit juice, cereals, toast, tea and coffee were offered. And all of the hot food was freshly prepared and served on a hot plate. A truly excellent breakfast. Parking was good, with the large car park being lit up all night, a very safe place for your car.

Staff very friendly, facilities were good. Breakfast was good and cooked to order.

Roadside noise from the main road at night was quite loud, but due to location, which I was aware of in advance. Had a minor issue with a circuit breaker tripping, which meant I had no electricity during the night till 7:30 when I contacted the manager, who resolved it quickly. Unfortunately, circuit breaker boxes are not accessible to customers, so could not resolve myself.

Although the hotel is dated, it had a very good friendliness to it.

The Georgian wire glass doors, some with cracked panes and the old fashioned steel fabricated cream painted staircase with maroon carpeted treads made it very old fashioned. If the colour scheme were modernised from yellow and maroon to some warmer pastel shades, it wood improve the warmth of the building in my opinion.

Comfortable bed, clean room, really good tasting and filling breakfast. Really good evening meal that we had on one evening. Good location for getting to the central part of Wellingborough and further afield. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

The rooms and hotel are looking very dated and could do with a redecoration. Our room door lock wouldn't latch in the 'locked' position so these need looking at or replacing.

First night quiet. Then next 2 noisy due to bikers staying. Coming in late. Letting doors slam. Talking very loud. Turning bikes over early morning. Had to close window due to fumes off them.

Proprietors very helpful and responsive to any request we had. Room very spacious and comfortable with all standard facilities although bathroom basin rather on the small side. Should also add that the meals, both breakfast and dinner, were plain, wholesome, straightforward and copious. The chicken curry is particularly recommended

Dislike the abominable custom of paying for the stay immediately upon arrival. However this seems to be becoming standard in UK hotels, so not a specific complaint here. Never encountered this in hotels in France/Italy/Spain. Outwardly the hotel looks somewhat dismal, even scruffy. On arrival we wondered if we'd made a mistake in booking it. But as time went on we realised there was nothing fundamentally wrong - and see above re the proprietors
