What a FABULOUS hotel with an AWESOME staff!! From the moment I checked in, the staff was on it. Extremely smooth check in. Very helpful at answering questions and fulfilling requests. The hotel is impeccably clean. My room was spotless. The hotel itself has so much character and charm it’s hard to take it all in. The food onsite was top notch.  They are centrally located within walking distance to any nightlife activity you may want to partake in. My entire stay was FABULOUS!! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Baltimore area. I will definitely be coming back to stay again. Thank you for an awesome trip!

I liked how much character this hotel has its super cute! Also enjoyed the option of 3 bars; it was fun being able to try all of them. The vibe of each bar is different, and the drinks were delicious! Breakfast opened up at 7am was very convenient and the dirty chai was delicious. The location was great because a lot of restaurants were available nearby, as well as Lyft pickups/drop-offs were easy for things to do were nearby.

A mini fridge, trash bin/trash bag, or even microwave not being available in my room was a bit inconvenient for couple of nights, but if it's not a must on your list of amenities, then it's doable.

The location was great (right in Mt. Vernon). The decor was beautiful and trendy-looking. A great deal if you stay for at least three nights. Easily walkable to the train station or to catch a shuttle/ bus line to other areas.

The scent throughout the hotel (the room, the shampoo/ hand soap) was cloying. Pretty dark (the lighting in the hotel room was pretty dim). There was a waitress/ bar staff member who did not know what she was doing (she ignored us while we were literally at the register to order. She told us to sit anywhere (the bar had just opened, and there were maybe 4 other people in the whole bar. No one came by to check in on us. We waited 30+ minutes for a drink, and when we checked in with the bartender, it turned out that the drink bottle was OOS and that the app order was not inputted correctly into the point of sale system... The bartender did a great job trying to salvage the mishap).

My stay at the Ulysses really cemented my love for boutique hotels. Everything was very nice and clean and OH SO CUTE! The smell of everything was also amazing! I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for when that lotion restocks!

I wish the room had a couple more amenities. I understand that they wanted the rooms to feel historic, but I would have loved to have a fridge for my leftovers instead of having to toss them out. I also wish there were slippers and a robe to wear around the hotel/room. Also having the option for bigger towels would have been perfect. Also, I wish they had a sample size of the toiletries that I could have taken with me cos the smell was amazing!

Unique aesthetics + attention to detail of the furniture + good bars + decent food + amazing location

The hotel runs on a lean operating model using Google Texts to coordinate guest requests and keeping staff short to (presumably) keep costs down. This means it takes longer than usual for them to fulfill requests and also provide general service. Keep that mind. Also, guests do not have control over their thermostat and we had trouble sleeping the first night because they had disabled cooling.

Incredible hotel - stunningly decorated with high quality furnishings that felt like they were from a different age. So many beautiful details everywhere! Really liked the friendly and chill staff, who made our stay feel really comfortable. The hotel lounge & cocktail bar are both gorgeous, as is Coral Wig (the separate but related cocktail bar in the basement) - the scotch bonnet mocktail is probably the most delicious mocktail I've ever tried, and up there amongst the best cocktails!

It would have been nice to have a bottle of filtered water in the room, and ideally also tea or coffee making facilities, particularly as the lounge isn't open all day. Some more info on check in would also have been great - we didn't know about the Poppy Room or Coral Wig until our second day, and only then found out about them by chance, which was a shame.

I’m unfamiliar with Baltimore but thought the location was great. Not in the city center (which felt pretty bleak for a weekend) but close by with restaurants and bars a skip away. The property itself is gorgeous. We love the bars, the attention to detail, for having a more maximalist decor with so many crooks and crannies for dust to settle, the place was spotless. We loved our king room with a view of the city. The bed, pillows, linens and zero street noise were fantastic. The bathroom was fun. Our bathroom had windows so I didn’t experience the dim lighting others have commented on. The staff is amazing. It was my partner’s birthday but we had to come to town for a funeral. Everyone we met was so helpful and kind. From the Ash bartender making a special cocktail, the bloom bartender making conversation and providing a tasting of a recipe he was working on to the front desk staff, the manager and even one of the chefs (I assume from his top) made the day a little less glum. Circumstances made my first trip to Baltimore a little less than ideal but Ulysses made the brief time we had to ourselves pretty special. Free coffee and pastries in the morning were unexpected pleasures too.

No onsite parking but it’s a city and we found street parking right outside. Had to pay the meter a couple dollars by 8am but it was super convenient.

Every detail was so beautiful, so pristine and had great quality. Not a single thing was made with cheap plastic, everything from furniture to decorations were genuine good quality items. Good sign hangers on the doors, well tiled bathroom, great light fixtures. No ordinary boring hotel, so unique and great service. Staff was so so friendly!

I was in the King size bed room, and my only complaint is that the bed took up most of the room. It's probably because it's a historic building and the rooms may be generally small, but it was manageable for a short stay for me and my friend.

Great hotel in a great location. Easily walkable from Penn Station and surrounded by bars and restaurants and concert venues. The hotel is beautifully designed and the staff are great. Be sure to check out the happy hour in the lounge.

The room was kind of small and the air conditioner kept turning itself off. Not sure if this was an eco-friendly setting that it defaulted to or not, but I had to keep turning it back on during the night.
