Great facilities kind friendly staff with very tasty food. But beware the small print on the menu, ‘Optional’ 10% service charge on food and drink is added before you have a choice meaning you have to ask for it to be removed. They got my bill wrong three times (in their favour each time) when I finally got a bill showing the actual price of what I had it was such a relief I gave in and ignored the service charge.

See above the service charge this is not America pay staff a living wage and stop with the hidden charges.

The breakfast was amazing, staff were lovely and the room was very comfortable. The food in the pub was also really lovely and given it's just above the pub it was also very quiet at night.

The room had a little damp in the corners which could do with a paint over. On the website there is an option for a breakfast basket instead of going down for breakfast but I didn't see this option. Also weekend breakfast between 8.30-9.30 is very early... would have been nice to have a lie in. Finally, on the website there is also a mention of things within the fridge in the room... but there was nothing.

was at an event on sun the 30 june in the tepee which was amazing but at 915 was asked to leave the teepee and head up to the bar on arrival there s young girl who was working the bar said she was closing the bar as nobody in we said we are staying here dhe said you can hav one drink which i found very rude as some of the people eho where with the party and staying at the venue had tesvrled from brighton the girl in question was not interested at sll this spoilt a lovely day but she was very un professional and rude and badically had no social skils so we all had one drink and the door was bolted literally behind us i then had to go to my room after 10 pm and cud not stay chatting to friends and family on ther other hand troy who oversaw the party was absolutely amazing 👍

The design is good the new with the old patterns was good. The items in the fridge was good. Food was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Main road noise. Mattress was not good and could not get the right pillows for me even though there was four to choice from. We did not read the booking details correctly so we expected a full cooked breakfast but this was only available on a Saturday or Sunday so we got a small hamper delivered to our room with cereals and crossiants. We asked for a early check in due to needed to change for a family funeral but was told no so we traveled from Leicestershire in our funeral clothes.

Whilst the on-site parking is a little tight that was the only point worth mentioning for arriving guests. Team were spot on when it came to service delivery. Accommodation was clean and well appointed and even with the road out front the sleep quality was good. Service and food in dining area both at dinner and breakfast was very good. Good menu choice. Sensibly priced throughout. Lovely atmosphere too.

Only a little point - somewhere to place your toiletries in the bathroom area - a little niggle but did not affect our stay

The room was lovely and the bed extremely comfortable. The breakfast basket outside the door was nice and they accommodated vegan options. The fridge and coffee machine nice too. View would have been lovely but the weather was awful so not seen at its best. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The noise from other rooms and the door to stairs which was consistently banging open. Staff talking outside the room quite early when cleaning the rooms.

We came up to visit family so we had a look around nearby for places to stay. This jumped out straight away due to the location and the added bonus of the pub underneath! We stayed in the room Tawny Owl and the view of Ramsbottom was absolutely gorgeous to wake up to each morning. A continental breakfast was delivered to our door so that was a lovely added touch and a mini fridge with a bottle of prosecco and beer along with some fruit juices to enjoy aswell. The room was spacious, bed super cosy and massive! Bathroom was sizable also, with the option to have a bath or shower. The room was spotless when we checked in and remained that way as they popped in to freshen it up when we went out. Tea and coffee were replenished every day along with fresh milk and nothing was too much for the staff there. So friendly and happy to help with anything we needed, they really made our stay that much more relaxing and comfortable. I didnt get any names but even when we popped down to the bar each day for a drink, the bar staff were inviting and happy to have a chat/check that we were alright and if we needed anything. It was our first time traveling up and staying in the area and it was definitely made that much better by staying here. 100% will be staying again!

Very accommodating staff as we were delayed arriving, yet they still found time to personally show us around the room, then back to the bar for a free first drink. Breakfast was very hearty with gorgeous views over the Irwell Valley.

The rooms on the Whalley Road side of the pub are quite noisy from road traffic, but we forgot the close the wooden blinds, which may have helped, if not with the noise, then with the early morning light. A light bulb needed replacing.

Great staff with a very warm welcome - fabulous Lancashire breakfast, and a comfortable en-suite room with complimentary drinks and nibbles - which was very much appreciated. The breakfast room, which is the pub's dining room has a fabulous view over the valley. The staff make the Eagle and Child a great place to stay - they have such a positive attitude and go the extra mile to welcome guests.

Our bedroom was comfortable, however, it was at the front of the building overlooking a main road. The traffic was busy in the evening, and thankfully quiet overnight, however, it became busy again the following morning. If we stayed again, I would ask for a room at the rear of the building.

So sorry- but your mattress and. Pillows were very lumpy so our sleep was not great. For our packed breakfast we had 2 black ( and they were very black) bananas, 2 chocolate pastries, 1 marmalade and 2 children’s sugar cereal - if we weren’t diabetic before we would have been after ! The lovely cleaner and chief kindly swapped items which was really kind.
