Our stay was exceptional from start to finish. The inn, the meals, and the staff are all outstanding. The rooms are elegantly simple , clean and very comfortable. We were warmly welcomed and felt like family by the end of our stay. Ruben and his team take hospitality to the highest level and want to do all they can to make your stay wonderful. Ruben suggested day trips for us and set up a visit for us to a local winery. The inn is in the center of Estremoz and parking is easy. Breakfast each morning was fresh, plentiful and delicious. Dinner is outstanding - traditional Portuguese food and flavors with a modern flair. We hated to leave this special place! We hope to return!

Everything is fabulous!

Staff were exceptional, especially Marta. She was communicative and friendly before we even arrived, helping to book restaurant reservations and provide information and recommendations. We enjoyed the public spaces and our (generously upgraded) room was lovely. The chef insisted on packing us breakfast to take with us when we said that we did not have time to have it there on the day of our departure. Linens were of high quality. Everything was as clean and fresh as if it had just opened yesterday.

We arrived on a Saturday market day, so parking was a bit of a challenge, but that was to be expected and not the fault of the hotel.

This hotel exceeded all of our expectations! The design is stunning, both modern and elegant. The breakfast and dinner buffets were exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious options. Our room was incredibly spacious and bright, and felt like a true sanctuary. We have some dietary needs, and the chef went out of their way to accommodate us, creating some truly outstanding dishes that were even better than the standard menu items. If you're looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating retreat, I highly recommend this hotel. The combination of beautiful surroundings, impeccable service, and delicious food makes it a truly special place.

Loved our stay here. We were met by Ruben, the Chef and owner, who went out of his way to make our stay memorable. He gave us lots of recommendations for things to do in the area and restaurants to visit, and he organized a wonderful winery visit and tasting for us. The meals we had at both of the hotels restaurants (one onsite, one offsite) were both fantastic. The room was very tasteful and comfortable, and the location was perfect, right in town but quiet. The breakfast was really great too.

We've stayed here a couple of times now and keep coming back as we love it so much. It is an oasis of calm that is beautifully designed, comfortable, luxurious and with a great restaurant. The staff are lovely and it's right in the centre of town – although the moment you step through the door, it is more of a tranquil haven. The roof top pool is bliss and there is a comfortable lounge area too. And breakfast is amazing!

Nothing we didn't like.

Breakfast was exceptional - the best we enjoyed in our whole trip to Alentejo - scumptious! The whole visit was first class, the property was a bit quirky but classy with attention to every detail.

We would have loved to eat in the Restaurant, but it was not to be. The Mercearia Gadanha was a more than adequete substitute. Only minor suggestions would be that we would have liked somewhere to hang our towels in the bathroom and would have preferred a screen/blind arrangement for the bathroom window. But minor quibbles really.

Everything about this place is just gorgeous. Beautiful design finished to a very high standard. Friendly welcoming staff. Wonderful roof top pool, comfy bed, lovely living room with coffee… it all felt very chilled and perfect. The breakfast was sooooo delicious and I was really well catered for as a vegetarian. We had dinner in the restaurant and again, amazing food and warm, welcoming staff. This really is one of the nicest places we’ve stayed. A little more expensive than some but so so worth it. We’ll be back.

Honestly, there were no down sides.

This is a stunning, boutique hotel in a fabulous central location. The staff were beyond accommodating and even helped to save us a parking spot out the front of the hotel. The roof top bar with honour system was a great way to take in the views and enjoy the sun. The breakfast was simple, fresh and fabulous.

The only thing I didn't like is that we did NOT eat at their restaurant that evening. But we will be back to do that!!

Fabulous breakfast and excellent dinner. The room was lovely overlooking the square. The windows were well-insulated so it was extremely quiet in the room. The decor is lovely and each piece has been carefully chosen. The weather wasn't great so we didn't get to use the rooftop in the evening but in the summer it must be fabulous

There was a problem with the wifi so we had no coverage in our room but you could use the communal areas where the connection was great.

This little hotel is exquisite! The room, the bed, the location, the cleanliness, EVERYTHING about the hotel is perfect. The owners are delightful - very helpful and accommodating - and the breakfast prepared at the adjoining restaurant was the best that we had on our entire vacation! I highly recommend Casa do Gadanha and will definitely stay there again.
