The hotel itself was very cool. The property was historic and felt classy and impressive. The bar and restaurant on site were great. The room was very unique and nice. It was on the large side I’d say. We had a corner room and there were tall ceilings with plenty of natural light. With views of the mountains. Bed and bedding was super comfortable. The bathroom was larger too with a walk in shower and multiple doors including a separate toilet room which is great for a couple getting ready to avoid steaming up the bedroom. Appreciated the floor length mirror and closet as well! Fridge was great as we were staying for 4 nights so could keep waters cold and store some leftovers from the nights as well. I loved the tile and appearance of the bathroom. Toto toilet was great! All kohler finishes. The green tile was super cute. The shampoo conditioner and body wash were awesome too! Husband wants to buy the shampoo for himself personally now. The wooden floors in the room are great for cleanliness. And to top it off we had our small pup traveling with us and the entire hotel felt very welcoming to him too. We don’t leave him alone so it was great to have a dog friendly bar area for nighttime drinks. We grabbed breakfast one day and the food was great and we could have our fur baby with us too. The staff were all so sweet. He received a bunch of homemade human grade cookies and loved them too! Would highly recommend for a couple and/or anyone traveling with a dog. This was our first time visiting Colorado Springs and not sure how often we’ll make it back but we would stay again without a question if we made it back. And would love to see something like this locally in Chicago! Such a nice place with wonderful people there!

AC ran a little warm - granted 2/4 of our nights were unusually warm (over 90+ degrees) but the hotel staff were accommodating. Provided a fan which we used the first two nights but after rain came in and cooled things down we were fine without it the 3rd and 4th night.

This hotel has charm and history. The rooms were clean and had character, not like the soulless corporate rooms you get with the major chains. The beds were comfortable with nice bedding and pillows. The shower was great. The coffee/bar lounge was beautiful, open, comfortable, inviting, and their coffee drinks were delicious. The Italian restaurant, ORO, was stellar! Excellent food and service! The location was very convenient to shops and restaurants as well as Colorado College, which was our reason for staying. We had a fantastic stay. Would recommend highly over the corporate chain hotels in the vicinity.

They were a bit short-staffed in the mornings, especially on the morning of Colorado College's orientation day. The poor staff was running around trying to help everyone because there was only one person working the front desk and valet, and only one person doing everything at the BLK MGK cafe. The wait was very long for the cafe since only one person was taking orders, making coffee (working as barista), and running off to pick up food orders from the kitchen. Note to hotel management: Please help your staff be successful by supporting them!

Room was good sized, also bathroom. Lobby area was very nice and comfortable. enjoyed the historic vibe and the art walk gallery in the stairwell. Location was convenient for us.

Even very low cost hotels have a coffee maker or kettle to boil water in the room or a microwave. I like to make tea when I wake up and sip while I get ready for the day, so it was an inconvenience to have to go downstairs to get boiling water. Wish breakfast was included, but if not, at least complimentary coffee & tea in the morning. Was also surprised that in a hotel committed to art, our room walls were totally bare, with two framed art pieces resting on a wall ledge against a very busy wallpaper. There also was no towel rack or hook in the sink area, so it was inconvenient to go into the shower room to dry your hands.

This is a beautiful building, very thoughtfully decorated extremely comfortable beds and great coffee! I loved sitting in the lobby people watching with a cup of coffee each morning. I also enjoyed the extra amenities. Like the crystal concierge service and the restaurant on site.

The bathroom was not as clean as I hoped it would be, and the maid service never took out the trash during our three day stay. this would’ve been OK except the trash cans are so small as soon as you put one item in it it’s full. we were there for three days and we’re unable to get an appointment at the day spa which was a disappointment. The valet was extremely friendly and helpful however pricey. I think they wanted $50 to park our car with no in and out privileges. Luckily there was metered parking on the streets, which was not a problem.

Everything about the stay was great! Great location, staff, room was great as well. I had to Extend my stay by a day. Which they were great about rekeying my key for the same room.

The one downside was the parking I had thought the hotel had a parking garage/lot but it was a ballet who would park the car for you but the first interaction with the valet wasn’t the best. He was younger and seemed annoyed when I asked him if he could lock the car while we were checking in since he had the keys. And I noticed several times people waiting for their car. We eventually just parked in the garage ourselves and paid for parking instead of dealing with the valet but it was a great stay overall

The building is very interesting, being a restored building that was originally constructed to house the regional Stock Exchange. My room was nicely furnished and had a very spacious shower.

This was my first stay at this hotel. Given the historic nature of the building, I expected more information on the original use of the building, for example more historic photos or a few books about the Mining Stock Exchange. Some of the meeting rooms are named after famous gold mines in Cripple Creek, but unless you know this before hand, there does not seem to be any description given at the hotel. am very interested in history and so I was hoping for more. Even the website of the hotel doesn't seem to have much on the history of the building.

My sister and I really enjoyed our stay at the Mining Exchange and would definitely go back. Everyone was so friendly and nice from the front desk to the valet. We also had a good time at the restaurant. We really liked the room, it was quiet, spacious and very clean. Bathroom space was awesome.

Still some construction going on so we missed out on the bar. Not a big issue but it would have been nice to hang out at the hotel patio and have a couple of cocktails. Kinda wish there was a fridge and microwave in the room we were staying in. We went to the New Orleans Restaurant and the portions are pretty big and it's on the pricey side. We couldn't take food to go and food went to waste.

Location is perfect, it was centered right next to the mountains yet right in the city where we could walk to a lot of our restaurants that we wanted to visit. Staff was amazing and so kind, we even got a free accommodation and we’re upgraded to a suite due to being there on our honeymoon.

The only complaint that I had was our room service didn’t really clean anything other than giving us new sheets. Other than that, everything else was amazing.

I enjoyed the newly renovated rooms, halls and lobby. Very cute aesthetic with different couches/ chairs tables in the lobby and bar areas. The tile in the showers is beautiful and felt very luxurious.

We stayed here for my birthday, so our friends booked the same room and paid the same price. Their room had a desk, table, ice bucket, bottled waters, drinking glasses and a steamer. Ours didn't have any tables to put anything on (We had brought our own cake and Champagne) no glasses, no ice bucket, no bottled waters and no additional tables to put anything on with exception of our side tables. It would be fine, had we not known our friends paid the exact same price and got way more than we did. I also think they should put coffee makers in the rooms. I understand they want everyone to purchase from their coffee shop, but the lines were always long as it was understaffed. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

I loved the non-traditional layout of the old building. very 'at home' feel. The staff, Jill and her whole team went above the call of service, from Valet to cleaning staff. Just awesome people!! I love the Living room effect of the lobby, little sitting areas all over the great space, I wrote some great passages in my journal and stories.

It will only be better WHEN the entire remodle is complete! It will be an amazing place to hang out for cocktail too! The evelvators need some love, the right ground floor eleivator switch is not working and the interiors are a bit "shaggy" I am sure that is already a item list for the management.
