Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice Dinner was good

My partner and I were staying with my mother inlaw to celebrate her 84th birthday. She has had two strokes and has some mobility problems so I asked for a ground floor room for her. She was happy with her room (12), but there were two steps down to it which were tricky for her. Also it would have been safer for her to have a chair or stool in the shower. I appreciate it wasn't advertised as am "accessible/ adapted room". just ground floor. MY partner and I were in room 10 on the second floor so we were along way away from her, but that worked out OK.

Restaurant room is lovely. All our food was very good. Staff were very friendly, efficient and professional. Bar areas were good. Our room was in a converted stable with roof beams and modern fittings. There was a small private area to the front and bifold doors to another private area and the courtyard at the back. Slippers were provided along with bottled water and real milk in the fridge. Biscuits and various teas and coffees, kettle, cups , usb ports and plenty of storage space in the bathroom were all very welcome. The hotel holds the key to the Norman chapel that is next door and you can visit if you are interested. If you are interested in history and nature there is a lot to see within a short drive.

Room wasn't serviced so we had to ask for more shower gel and loo roll. This was immediately taken to our room and we did find that the "service my room" request card had blown off the door. Nowhere to hang up longer clothes.

Excellently situated for going to Badminton Horse Trials. Beautiful accomodation in the grounds of the pub. Really well presented and every need catered for. Can be self-sufficient or eat breakfast and dinner from the menu in the pub. Food was of high quality. Cleaning products for the kitchen available, tea/coffee, fridge with fresh milk and water (still/sparkling). Toiletries in the bathroom. The lounge has a table/chairs and a comfy sofa. TV, board games, and cards available. Very friendly staff - even had a night in shining armour come and resolve an issue with a huge hornet that appeared in the bedroom !! I'm already booked for the same weekend next year.

Parking was problematic as a very popular pub early evening and no parking specifically allocated for the accommodation. Had to play car jenga for a bit as car park was chaotic and haphazard. Busy evening of check-ins post Badminton and no obvious check-in desk so mildly fraught. Heating for the self-catering cottage has no independent control in the accommodation and is seemingly managed from the staff accommodation next door. So, you have to ask them to pop in to their flat to adjust the thermostat up and/or down. Would be better to have the cottage independent controlled.

The George@Frocester is a beautifully preserved 16th Century Inn that has been sympathetically restored and updated. Our room was super, with original wooden blinds that kept out both the light and reduced traffic noise. It was comfortable, well-equipped, and had a great selection of teas, coffees in the room, along with fresh milk and bottled water in the fridge. Also some lovely home-made shortbread. Dinner was delicious with a really interesting varied menu and whilst not cheap, was excellent value for money. Breakfast was equally good with a wide selection of options. Would definitely stay again.

A really calm warm atmosphere and well renovated. Lovely staff. Comfortable room and bed. Great shower and hot water. The food was fresh and well cooked and even the bread was made and baked on the premises. Great breakfast too …. good quality eggs, bacon sausage and tomatoes. Didn’t have the beans or new potato’s.

Disappointed with the coffee at breakfast …. not quite sure what had gone wrong but it tasted ghastly much to my surprise. I had to swap to tea! The field mushrooms were a bit rubbery so feel they may have been a bit old. We had a room at the front so we had more traffic noise than ideal.

Spacious room with comfortable bed and superb shower in single storey outbuilding at back of main building. Small patio area with table and chairs. Did not book a table in restaurant in advance as not sure if we would want to eat but they were able to fit us in. Same menu is served in bar if no space in restaurant. As it was Sunday there was choice of roasts on menu and we had beef which was superb. Breakfast next morning too was very good. Fruit, cereals, and juices were serve yourself and freshly cooked breakfast and hot drinks were brought to table.

Lack of windows to look out of. There were only 2 very high level ‘lights’ to let abit of daylight into room.

It was a return visit so I knew what to expect. Nice room and very good food in the main restaurant room. Checking in and bar service friendly and efficient; the two 'chamber maids' were also very smiley which made a nice change. Free parking and a lovely little church to explore immediately next door before leaving for my intended visit to Slimbridge WWT (15 minutes away)

Road can be quite noisy with through traffic up to midnight. The beer garden lacked character. Not a dislike, just an observation as some flower baskets (or the like) would have lifted it.

Staff are friendly and nice. Some are (see below). Food was freshly cooked and was amazing. Over all it’s a nice place to stay and we will be staying again. This time with an air con room or fans at least in the bedroom Real nice place to stay to visit friends and to have time with just me and the wife.

Some staff ignore you and then decide to talk to you after taking to another member of staff We was on the top floor and with only one window that didn’t open much. No fans the room was unbearable for both nights trying to sleep.

We were attending a wedding at Kingscote Barn. We booked two rooms and they were lovely rooms. Spacious, Chen and extremely comfortable. I have stayed in plenty of single rooms but never one as large and well equipped as Room 3. An extra special touch, totally unexpected was the fridge with fresh milk. So much nicer than UHT in plastic pots and better for the environment too. Next morning the choice for breakfast was extensive and everything was fresh, cooked to order and plentiful. The staff were very friendly and cheerful. All together a lovely stay.

Absolutely nothing

We had such a lovely weekend stay at The Frocester. We were a family group of six with three rooms and all were excellent. We stayed in Church View and everything was spotless, facilities beyond expectations,bed extremely comfy and very grateful for the much needed Aircon,, The staff were so friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were excellent , great quality ingredients and choice. We Will definitely be rebooking when we visit our familyi in Stroud again. Thank you for a lovely stay x
