Hotel was well situated with private beach, plenty of loungers available on the beach plus a beach bar serving drinks and ice-creams. The beach was very family friendly, sandy and very shallow for a long way out. Breakfast was self-service with a good selection of continental options and some hot options, pancakes, etc. The pool was lovely, approx 30 loungers available around the pool; be sure to ask for the hydrotherapy jets to be activated as we didn't know they worked until the end of our stay! NB: The pool photo I have supplied was taken early morning, hence the shade; it does get full sun on it and there are plenty of parasols to offer shade if wanted. Lots of restaurants, bars and mini-markets all a short walk away. The hotel offers an all-inclusive option but we were Bed & Breakfast as we wanted to explore Durres. Walking along the beach away from the port gives a stretch of a good couple of km's to stroll along before you can no longer walk any further and either turn back or turn up towards the main street where you will find lots of small boutiques and a market which we visited one evening. Room was lovely - we opted for a sea-view room which I would highly recommend. Nice balcony with a table and 2 chairs and drying line. Beautiful views of the sweeping bay.

Food: was very good but the options in the hot section would be really helpful if there were signs to advise what is inside the pots as everyone had to lift each of the lids up to check what was inside them. Location: The Amara is the first hotel after the port and there is a public beach just before it. Pool: There seemed to be a number of non-residents making use of the hotel facilities; this limited the number of loungers available round the pool on the second day of our 2-day stay. Plenty of loungers available on the beach however. It transpired that the pool has a jacuzzi section and hydrotherapy jets but they were not available for activation when we were using the pool - would be worth asking a member of staff.

The bed was really comfortable and the room was spacious. The room was cleaned and the bedding was renewed every day.

Too many mosquito in the area. If one entered your room, you were done for the night. The personeel spoke minimum English and there were no duvet covers for the duvet. When I asked for one, they thought I was from another planet.

Own beach. New, clean hotel.

We reserved see view room, but we got a side room in the corner, where the see was visible in a small view. (Most of hotels are mention it) When we claimed, nothing happened, but there were empty rooms on see side. Staff was not friendly except some receptionist and the cleaners (cleaners extra friendly) There were no ruccola in the ruccola salad, and staff was rude when we ask for it.

The rooms were daily perfectly cleaned. Most of the staff-members were friendly and helpful. Wide choice for breakfast, although the coffee from the machine wasn't good.

At arrival we had to pay +14% more than agreed with booking.com. During the booking process at Booking.com it said that the money will be collected from the creditcard, but at arrival they made us pay cash. The helpdesk of Booking.com told us that they can't do anything about this. In my opinion Booking.com is misleading their clients and I will think twice before using booking.com again.

Staff is lovely, rooms are spacious enough, beds were comfortable, nice view on the beach, private beach, and also it is located near to a lot of restaurants, all along side the beach coast, which is really great if you want to have a nice walk and if you want to eat with a view

Breakfast did not have that much option (that is just my opinion), and also the hotel is not really close to the center, but it did not bother me more than that to be honest

The hotel was quite nice, the staff were very nice, helpful and friendly. My EarPods were lost in laundry, while the sheets were being changed. Hotel staff helped retrieve it before my flight.

I had issues with the shower head in the bathroom. The shower head was rilled with mould and I complained throughout my stay and was consistently told it would be sorted out and it wasn’t sorted out till I left. This was the only issue I had during my stay.

Nice view at the beach from our balcony. The beach bar and the drinks servered there a very nice, they serve the drinks with tortilla chips.

The breakfast is not sufficient for a 4* hotel. The fried egg from the buffet is cold, because they don't put it under a heating lamp etc., the coffee from the self-service machine is not good and it was served in a to-go cup. For the juice only plastic cups were available. The sea is very shallow here and unfortunately there were lot of algaes when entering

Beach, sea view from room, open buffet dinner, staff on beach are helpful

Inexperienced staff , poor breakfast, you have to ask for the same basic things everyday with no response like broken coffee machine, no tea.... Inexperienced staff and they don't care to improve even , although most are polite and friendly

well maintained and clean. fresh towels always provided and room cleaned daily. main restrooms on the ground level were cleaned often. quieter part of the beach. great view of the beach front from our balcony.

breakfast quality could be improved. eggs were always overcooked and coffee in breakfast area was bad, the lounge coffee is way better. people would leave their beach beds, but it was unclear if they left or not so spots along the water were limited. smokers everywhere, very few seats away from a table with no smokers. lounge seats have water stains from people coming in their wet swim wear under their clothes and sit down.
