We absolutely loved Kilauea House!! We stayed for two nights in the Nene room and it was the perfect end to our time on the Big Island. The location is fantastic - just 2 miles from Volcanoes National Park. Pam and Dean welcomed us and provided tips for us throughout our stay. The room was decorated beautifully with so much thought and attention to detail - it was just lovely! The king bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! High quality linens and all of the amenities you could possibly need. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast (which is so much more than just a continental breakfast) on our lanai each morning. It was so peaceful and quiet! I can't recommend this place highly enough - it was fantastic!!!

I wouldn't suggest changing a thing - everything was absolutely perfect!!!!

I can't say enough good about Kileaua House! Do yourself a favor and book this charming B&B. They have thought of every detail. It's 5 minutes from the Volcano National Park Entrance which meant no rushing around to get there, made it possible to go back at night (lava was flowing), and we even came back to the house for lunch. Pam and Dean are wonderful hosts. I recommend two nights here so you can have a full day in the national park, enjoy a leisurely breakfast in your room at Kileaua House, and head into Volcano for some dinner. Absolutely wonderful!

Not a thing. It was about as perfect as it gets.

Originally when booking, I loved the close proximity to Volcanoes National Park. When we got there, I loved all the little touches Pam and Dean added to the room. There were beautiful, pastries, and plentiful snacks. There were hiking recommendations. It felt quite homey, the mattress was comfortable, the shower was fabulous, and it was completely private with a separate entrance and lovely patio and backyard.

You could hear people a little bit through the adjacent wall, but it wasn’t a problem. We also enjoyed the birds singing in the yard.

This was a delightful place to stay. Room and bed were extremely comfortable and the decor was super cute without being over the top. The host provided in room breakfast items that were abundant and catered to a large variety of tastes plus coffee, tea and juice. In addition to that there were snacks for in the afternoon or evening. The host was friendly but not intrusive. And the location is perfect for exploring The Volcano National Park and the Southern tip of The Big Island.

There was nothing that could have been better.

Location to national park is great! If the volcano is erupting you can see the glow from their patio. In room breakfast selection was comprehensive: coffee/maker, pastries, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, microwave. Wonderful outdoor space. Comfortable bed and linens. Towels changed out every day.

Wifi was iffy. Had to stand by door closest to their house. We made it work, though. Bathroom needs a powerful de-humidifier. Everything sort of felt damp. Again, we made it work. Not a biggie.

A lot of care is being put into running this place and you as a guest can feel it. The breakfasts in the morning were incredible and private with abundance of breakfast varieties. The hosts are very friendly and easy to contact, they also have good recommendations for the area. There is a small fireplace to enjoy during cold nights. You are very close to the National Park and some restaurants (still driving distance). Arriving before the tour busses can make the national park experience much better. Overall, one of the best experiences we have had. If we would return, it would be to this same place.

The mattress should be replaced in due time.

The pics in Booking.com and Kilauea House website didn't do justice. The place was better than the pics. My wife and I stayed in the "Nene" room and we loved it. Pam & Dean, the hosts, did a great job with the room decor. The little fine touches were very nice plus the goodies (like nuts, candies, pastries, cereals, granolas, fruits etc). The mini-fridge was well stocked - good quality yogurt, juice, butter, cheese, milk, creamer, boiled eggs, microwaveable eggs, soda etc. Of course, the place is very comfy and clean. We enjoyed the lanai/terrace (with propane firepit table) facing the rainforest. It was clear when we were there so star gazing was fantastic. The Volcano National Park entrance is about a 6 minute drive and Volcano Winery is just a mile away. The Kileaue House was an excellent value for the money. We highly recommend this place to all our friends who want to visit the Volcano National Park

Pam & Dean, our hosts & our guest suite, were EXCEPTIONAL! Ultra clean, well laid-out, nicely decorated, and hosts provided everything guests would need during a vacation. Their offerings greatly exceeded our expectations. One of the BEST B&Bs we have stayed in. A super "10"!.

We liked all aspects of this B&B. Hosts spent a lot of time and effort in making their offering exceptional! This B&B was purposed-built and was well designed. Hosts live on-site and were very helpful and friendly / informative.

This place was perfect for my husband and I. The room was so cozy and had everything you need. The bed was soooo comfortable! Probably the best night of sleep I got on our whole trip. They have food for breakfast. Just about anything you could want. We got to meet Dean and Pam when we arrived as well. They were very nice and we got to meet their 2 dogs. This bnb was great! Highly recommend with no hesitation!

I can't think of anything we didnt like.

Felt like “home”. Beautiful landscape and brick walkway to our unit (Nene). Loved the “bridge” to the porch. Pam and Dean made us feel like family from the start! Extremely friendly and hospitable. The room was IMMACULATE and couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable bed!! Beautiful decorations, bathroom brick shower was also beautiful. Loved all the snacks but especially the high quality coffee, eggs and egg bites, granola was delicious, peanut butter and crackers and pastries!! …. You truly kept us well stocked for the week!! We will be back again!! It was so convenient to the National Park and my sons home. I also really loved….. No bugs. So so clean. Mahalo!!!

A few thoughts. …. It was hard for towels to dry due to humidity …. Not sure how to rectify that but we felt bad using so many towels. Also, maybe get speakers for the tv that are closer to the bed to be able To hear better without having to have the volume so high.
