I love that this hotel is so close to my daughter’s NYU dorm and only a block away from the Canal St subway station. It’s super clean and the staff is AMAZING! I don’t think I’ve had a more helpful front desk staff anywhere I’ve ever stayed. They’re friendly and happy to help. I describe the rooms as very zen - super relaxing. The lighting is ideal - so many options! - recessed overhead light, recessed lower light, and lighting options next to the bed. If you’re in NYC to visit, it’s super close to Chinatown, Little Italy, Soho and Tribeca, you just walk in different directions. Also only a short walk to City Hall and the Financial District. Everything else accessible with the yellow and green subway lines within a block or two, red line also close by. Lots of restaurants nearby. A great value, especially considering it’s almost brand new (only opened a couple years ago). I also appreciate that there is a 7-11 around the corner open all hours for bottles of water or snacks.

Great location and delicious breakfast.

Impossible to establish communication or resolve our issue. We booked 4 rooms for a total of 10 people; however, due to illness, 2 people were unable to attend. The hotel refused to offer any refund, voucher, or even the option to cancel just one night. Because of this experience, I would never return to this hotel. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service and communication, as the hotel shifted the blame to Booking, and Booking pointed the finger back at the hotel. In the end, we were the only ones who suffered the consequences. On top of that, we tried to get in touch with them even 3 weeks before the arrival, and cancel just one room.

Clean, super friendly and helpful staff, well-equipped clean room with good toiletries. My room was on the 2nd floor, maybe it’s because it wasn’t facing the street but it was nice and quiet.

The pillows. They were super uncomfortable for me which caused issues sleeping. They use these big very thick pillows, kind on the firm side - great for propping yourself up and I’m sure they look great in hotel pictures, but if you sleep on your stomach and maybe even on your side they’re way too thick and firm. This is the only reason I wouldn’t stay here again though I would recommend it to others.

This hotel is really a hidden gem in NYC. Price/quality, you wouldn't find much better. The location was great, with the metro just around the corner. The hotel was very clean, the room was spacious. And enough variation in the breakfast buffet. But the best part were the staff. Every single staff member will do anything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Many luxery hotels can learn from them. I was supposed to stay at the Hilton instead of this one. But cause price discussion during booking, I cancelled my booking at Hilton, I even asked them to erase my membership (which I better didn't do it, cause Best Western will match your membership from other hotels!!) Never step foot again in a Hilton.

Although the variation in breakfast was good. Would have love seen the possibility to have a boiled egg... :-) And the room was very spacious, but I was missing a closet for my clothes. But I guess you can't have it all. Other than that, everything was just top

For a budget hotel in a great location, I was surprised by the comfort level -- the soft towels, the attention to decor, the friendly staff. It's a pod-like hotel, but all is well-thought-out (including providing ear-buds, although I didn't hear a whisper from other rooms or from the street) and it made for a comfortable stay in Soho.

The heating in my room wasn't working very well; it was fine, not enough to complain about, but certainly not warm. The breakfast was worse than I've had in similar places -- very basic array of cooked foods that were running low on both mornings, no fruit (or no fruit left by the time I got there). Delicious croissants, though.

The location was great next to the subway, near in Soho Chinatown TriBeCa Little Italy. The room was small but nice and clean. In the 7th floor which I was been it was not noisy all. The breakfast was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful from the cleaning lady, the people in the breakfast area and of course the people in the reception especially Jotez and Nicole. I will recommend it

The sweets in the breakfast menu weren’t enough I need a little more space in the room for our clothes shopping bags etc

We found everything but the breakfast to be outstanding. Great room, spacious, clean and beautifully lit; very friendly and knowledgeable staff; we loved the free lattes and iced waters (the orange slices were a great touch, too!) in the lobby. Also very happy about the possibility to securely have our luggage stored until our room was ready so we could already venture out to explore the city, and again after checkout so we could take a last walk before our airport pickup.

The hot breakfast was great, but we would have liked some more healthy cold breakfast choices (natural unflavored yoghurt without added sugar, unflavored oatmeal, cheese slices, margarine, to just name a few). Also, why not put another coffee machine like in the lobby down there instead of the mediocre filter coffee?

Location was good, close to lots of restaurants options and only a few minutes to the subway. All staff were very friendly, welcoming and happy to help out where needed. My room was away from the street, so it was very quiet. Room was as pictured and a good size. Breakfast had a decent array of options.

A couple of things from an environmental perspective: - There didn't seem to be an option to opt out of the daily room clean, I was more than happy not to have this - All plates and cutlery etc. at breakfast were disposable, which obviously causes a lot of additional waste

The hotel and the room were clean, which is our number 1 criteria when we chose this hotel, and we were not disappointed. We also appreciated the coffee machine at the room, and the unlimited free coffee, tea, and cold water at the reception. The hotel location is perfect, since it is in the midpoint between SOHO, TRIBECA, LITTLE ITALY, and CHINA TOWN, which meant that most activities we enjoyed were at walking distance, like The Comedy Store, The Roxy/Django Jazz Club, The Brooklyn Bridge, Many Shopping Store, and a lot of great restaurants and bars. Reuben and Nichole from the Front Desk, went out of their ways to make our stay more comfortable. Also the housekeepers, Giselle, Jessica, and Monica kept our room super clean and tidy throughout our stay. Overall everyone from the staff was super helpful and friendly.

I had a great stay at Best Western Plus Soho Hotel. I moved here for my final two nights in New York after staying in Times Square, and I was pleasantly surprised. The check-in experience was smooth, and the lady at reception was very helpful, clearly explaining everything. I appreciated the 24/7 availability of coffee, tea, and water in the lobby, especially considering how pricey bottled water can be in New York. The breakfast offered plenty of options, including hot choices, and while I’m not a fan of paper plates, at least the cutlery wasn’t plastic. The room was a good size, clean, and included a desk, which was convenient for getting some work done. The bathroom was also decent, and the TV worked well. The location is excellent walking distance to Chinatown, Little Italy, and other nearby spots.

My main critique would be the use of paper plates during breakfast. Although I understand it's convenient, it would be great to see more sustainable options in place.
